This was my first stop after landing in Seattle, and I'm glad I tried this place for lunch. I love noodles anytime, but especially on a cold and rainy day. I ordered the wonton and beef tendon combo, which came steaming hot in a delicious broth. They have both regular and large sizes. The noodles were cooked just right, and I kind of regret I didn't get a larger size - though I did get a sesame ball for dessert that was also quite tasty! The restaurant is easy to find in a big strip mall with other (mostly Asian) establishments, and there's plenty of parking for anyone driving. Located near several bus stops as well. I love discovering family-owned restaurants, and Canton Noodles House was no exception.

Updating a review on their chicken wings: Recommend the salt and pepper chicken wings! They come out piping hot, crispy, and juicy. Has the crispy garlic and jalapeno on top. This would be so good on rice! Loved a regular size wonton noodle soup and some chicken wingsssss. Yum! I'll for sure get them again.

Yet another place I've never been to despite living in this city my whole life... until now. This place shares parking with places like Ding Feng and Happy Lemon. As most likely stated in other reviews, make sure your parking is near-perfect in this strict rule-enforced area or you will get ticketed. Passing that, the place feels somewhat intimate and homely, with the feel of the tables and chairs resembling most Chinese restaurants in Chinatown and bright incandescent lights above the tables. You get a menu and servers take your order. There's a ton of noodle soups here but they also serve congee, salt and pepper dishes, claypot dishes and other things. Before going on, I've personally had less-than-great experiences eating wonton noodle soups, in particular at one place that everyone seems to like and rave about in Seattle's Chinatown... having said that, I got the wonton and beef brisket noodle soup through my friend's recommendation, and man it was really good especially when you add in chili oil! Soup was fresh, wontons were perfect and the noodles didn't over- or underpower the soup like it does for other places I've had wonton noodle soups at. Beef briskets were tender and flavored well. This might become a place I'll recommend to anyone wanting to visit Seattle! It's that delicious!

Found this place on Yelp as my husband was looking for a place with some authentic congee. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was fairly busy. I ordered the clay pot, spicy, with beef brisket and rice noodles. We ordered our kids the dumpling and beef brisket noodle soup, and the mister ordered chicken congee with a side of Chinese donuts. We also ordered the steamed veggies with oyster sauce (Chinese broccoli). I love spicy and my spicy clay pot was spicy for sure. I didn't expect it to be that spicy but it was very flavorful and the amount of items in it was a lot. My kids wonton and beef brisket noodle soup was way too salty to be honest. A lot of noodles in it and not much other stuff. Hubby's chicken congee was delicious. My kids wanted more Chinese donut so we ordered another extra side of that. Total was $80ish with tip which was rather pricey in my opinion. We left half the wonton and beef brisket soup as the kids didn't want it. I'd come back for the congee and clay pot but probably not the noodle soup dishes.

    Fish congee

A cozy meal for a rainy day. I had the fish congee with a side of greens and donuts to dip into it. The congee was so silky, with the perfect balance of ginger. I'll be back in a few days, LOL.

Crispy and juicy fried wing sections. You're missing out if you don't try the fried chicken.

This place hits the spot! I saw this place 10 months ago from the light rail and passed it many times driving along MLK. Finally gave it try. No regrets. I had a small wonton noodle soup with beef brisket and couple of fried chicken wing sections. Perfect amount of food for just one person. Wonton are plump and juicy. Brisket had great flavor. Super tender choy sum in the soup. Wings were crispy and juicy. No wonder some people just come here for the fried chicken. my only note on the wonton noodle soup: great flavor for he soup itself, but itwas just a teeny bit on the salty side, I think because it was already about 2pm. I know from my own experience on the kitchen side of things in a restaurant, as the day goes on big stockpots of soup or broth that are going all day tend to get saltier as the day goes on as the liquid evaporates. Great, super friendly service. I'll be back to try the congee, for sure. the best compliment I can give? I would take my mom here without hesitation. She grew up in Hong Kong and knows a thing or two about wonton noodle soup.

Comforting, classic mom and pop restaurant that you shouldn't pass on! We stopped by for a low key brunch. Dishes were very well seasoned and prepared, with nice portions and reasonable prices. Service was great, too. Conveniently located in a plaza with plenty of parking, and other small businesses like an Asian grocery store and bakery.

Nice little gem in an outside mall. The reviews are accurate and the food and service are pretty good. We ordered the wonton noodle soup with beef brisket and the recommended claypot rice noodles with spicy flavor and beef. Both are great options. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu.

Cute mom & pop sort of restaurant. I ordered the wonton & sui-kau noodles with thin noodle. I thought the serving was very filling and it came with so many wontons and sui-kau. Honestly I wasn't super sure of the difference between the two dumplings. One kind of dumpling had shrimp and pork and a silkier wrapper, and the other was pork only with wood ear mushroom and a different wrapper. The soup was a little salty for me but otherwise delicious. We also got the crispy fried wontons (8). It was freshly fried and piping hot. I think these were ok. It came with a sweet chili dipping sauce.

We were looking for a quick bite to eat while our baby slept and pleasantly came across this noodle house. Inside was clean and had ample seating for lunch on a weekday. Didn't wait long for our food to come out piping hot. The noodle soups were comforting and had lots of flavor. The "regular" is the perfect portion size to feel full but not over-stuffed. Salt and pepper squid had a light crispy batter with delicious bits of crispy fried garlic and chopped jalapeños on top. I liked that it wasn't overly salty. We ordered a fish congee to go so am looking forward to trying that out too. Don't forget to check out the fried goodies in the case at the front on your way out. My husband and I agreed that this meal hit the spot!

If you're looking for some hearty noodle soup, this is the place to go to. Besides noodle soups, the menu also features dishes with dry noodles with a cup of soup on the side. It's a nice and simple restaurant without the fuss. Service is straightforward and easy.

Definitely a hole in the wall type of restaurant. In the best way possible. We came here on a Saturday evening and our party of 6 got seated right away. Our server was really nice and we got our waters filled quickly. I ordered the wonton and brisket soup and it was great. Super flavorful broth and the brisket was very tender. Would definitely come back again.

    Cockroach in the broth

Has a cockroach problem. Last week went in person and we noticed a cockroach run by the window then today our delivery food from here had a cooked cockroach in the broth. This is a good place but they need to work on bugs and cleanliness.

I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

Not sure what they added in, but the flavor of the broth was not my favorite. There's so much good wonton soup in the area! I wish this broth was better and more savory. Beef chow fun: pretty tasty and the beef was pretty tender. There was no work hei, so didn't have that distinct flavor Half chicken bone in: this was surprisingly our favorite dish! Steamed chicken with a ginger oil. The ginger made this dish and the chicken was very tender. The chicken comes cold so eat it with some rice and it's the perfect combo

They have some nice lunch combos, but sucks that they don't provide soup for takeout. Could substitute with a rice or something! I don't know if it's the takeout container, but the quantity with respect the box was disappointing. Felt like there was less shrimp and walnuts compared to what I'm used to, but I think I also pay closer to $22-25 for the dish (the one here was $20). Minced Pork with Green Bean - now this was a hefty box, lots of green beans tossed with the classic XO sauce and a solid amount of pork. Honestly not much to comment on, this was a hearty dish and very comforting. Would recommend for green bean or string bean lovers.

This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. Also, when did we start calling it, "The International District". If we had Mexican, Italian and other ethnic restaurants in the neighborhood, I'd get on board, but not only do San Francisco, New York and L. A. have the biggest Chinatowns, cities also have Barrio's and Little Italy's, so clearly cultures are ok with us specifying. A friend brought up Scallion Beef, so I did a search, Scallion Beef is sometimes called Ginger Beef, so H Bistro came up in my results. Initially, I wondered if H Bistro was Hong Kong Bistro and they rebranded, but HKB is still in business and around the corner and not very good mind you. Reviews for H Bistro are strong and the photo's convinced me that this should be a better than average meal. People talked about the lunch special and since I had a meeting downtown in the afternoon, I thought I could pop in here before my meeting. Once there I was sat. I didn't see lunch on the menu, so I asked and was told, lunch was no longer offered. Again, with no website, I had to rely on Yelp so despite reviews from 2024 talking about lunch, it's not longer offered. I got the Ginger Beef and asked if they did soup by the cup and was also told no. That is why Chinese Lunch is so popular, you typically get soup, rice, entrée and even an appetizer. That is a full meal. I just had my entrée and rice. I asked for chili oil and was brought a very small portion, It had good flavor, but no heat. The entree was good, but without soup and appetizer it just wasn't well rounded. Also, the food would have benefited from being served on a hot iron plate. Not only does it add sear, but it keeps the dish hot. Post meal, I had hoped for a cookie and despite being a block from the fortune cookie factory, no cookie was served. Would I return, sure, with a large group, that would be the only way to truly experience the menu. With 2 people I could have added soup and appetizer as the entrée is also large enough for 2. That said, this was one the cleaner places in Chinatown. That is not to say Chinatown is dirty, but many restaurants need paint, have old furniture or have water stains. This place was fairly nice inside and could be classy with a few more bucks invested. This place really shot itself in the foot by discontinuing lunch, despite being decent, there was just too much disappointment today.
