Tony began this business long ago and right away decided to go top drawer, he sells O.E.M., N.O.S. and reproduction parts for old air cooled VW's that fit and work . This isn't the case with many other suppliers, they tend to sell bottom quality Chinesium junk . The on line web site is very detailed, German vehicles are always built using many extra rubbers, grommets, shims, special hardware and so on, you'll find it here . Typ II (van) lovers rejoice ! they have all those unobtanium parts you're been searching for . Good quality interior parts, headliners, door cards and seat covers along with the proper coconut fiber seat 'buns' to make your old seats look and sit like new again . I recently bought a very nice looking reproduction '56 ~ '59 Beetle turn signal switch and the mechanism was too stiff ~ no way to turn it on without making the entire switch move on the mast jacket . Customer service around returns was surprisingly bad. Ordered a belt for my bus and noticed they sent me the wrong size. When I initially ordering it over the phone I didn't use a part # but only had the size belt to refer to when ordering. Talked to Tony and he was very friendly at the time. Went over a few options and finally told him what size I needed. When I called back to request a return they (another person and then Tony jumped on the line) were quick to say "you ordered an alternator belt and that's what you got". I shared that I didn't know which belt belong to what but all I knew was I wanted a 9.5x900 and I shared that size with him. He then stated "well that's a generator belt". I then told him I didn't know that but nonetheless that's what I needed since it fit what I had on the engine already. I then asked if he was going to help me solve this and he responded.."that's what you ordered so I can't help you" . I've spent lots of $ over the years at WW and it's unfortunate we couldn't resolve a simple misunderstanding...either on my part of theirs. Im fine with taking blame for this if I truly am responsible for the miscommunication however I do feel that both sides may have gotten confused. Nonetheless, with so many other vendors out there who have the same products, I'd hate to leave especially over a lousy $13 part. But service is service and if WW feels it's better to challenge a customer over a simple misunderstanding then just fix the problem...well I'm sorry I'll find someone else to do business with. Vintage VW project? This is your place! They have high quality parts and ship them quickly. Recently had an issue with a lost shipment due to FedEx and they quickly filed the claim and shipped the replacement same day. I've found a few items more 'modern' outside of OEM that they don't have but for 90% of your resto needs they are perfect. Staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. My only complaint would be shipping and overall pricing is higher than others...I suppose it's chalked up to you get what you pay for! read more

The after market windows are too sharp. They'll cut someone or their clothes. The turn signal switch comes with tiny parts that they don't take the time to point out or secure to the packaging and when I ordered dashboard clips from Tony he sent me only one. When you try to correct the staff, they get attitudes everybody there seems to have a superiority complex. The rubber for the rear vent window in a horrific fit and the list goes on and on about the incompetence amongst the staff. Luckily for me Richard resolved one of my issues but ordering over the phone is like taking a chance crossing a broken bridge. The problems their are internal and likely from the top management down. Gals pride fake intelligence and actual idiots are working there. I am desperate to find another parts supplier. Until then WOLFSBURG WEST SUCKS LIKE A CANDY BAR COVERED IN ANTS. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ON A LOWER LEVEL IMHO They should be able to tell you what you ordered and when you ordered it but they can't and it they won't. Less than helpful is how I would describe the staff and the computer system. Cheap remakes pale in comparison to the original equipment from Volkswagen. These guys are like a bad knock off shoe. I have a daily driver 1969 (Type 1) 1600cc Beetle that I've been restoring since I moved out here to California about a year and a half ago. In my time searching for the best quality parts, I can tell you in confidence that Wolfsburg West should be your go-to guys, but recently, their customer service and products have gone down the drain. The people you should look to now is AirHead Parts (in Ventura, CA), or spend some time junkyard diving for genuine working parts at Jim's Interstate VW (in Lake Elsinore, CA). I would only work with Brian E. at Wolfsburg West because he cared about the products that correctly matched my car, the time it took me to get to their warehouse, and that my bug is my only car and daily driver. If the product fails, then the car fails. He was the best rep they had. These days, I don't see him there anymore and I'm sure they fired him for whatever reason. He was very helpful, and they should have kept him on. Wolfsburg West has a bunch of goons working there now that don't know their ass from their elbow. It's embarrassing to watch a company rot from the inside out. But, my issue and reason for review comes from the return of two wiper switches and a headlamp switch. I had to replace the wiper and headlamp, and get credited for and extra wiper switch that broke in my hand. They leaked, they shorted out, they were not lubricated. So, I contact Wolfsburg West about my return, and instead of speaking Ron (who normally handles these things) I was sent to Rich Morris. Rich Morris was unprofessional, unapologetic about the companies failed products, and quick to shut me up. If I am paying top dollar for Volkswagen parts for my car, and your top dollar product fails, you better expect me to jump down your throat. There are wars going on, the economy sucks, and our country's future in uncertain. At least, the common consumer deserves is a "We apologize for any inconvenience this issue with our product may have caused, but we will take care of it right away. Here is your RGA number and information confirming your credit here at Wolfsburg West. We value your business, and thank you for bringing this to our attention." Instead, I will attach in a photo what Rich Morris sent to me while on the phone with him when I asked for an email confirmation of the exchanges and credits in this return... I'm only twenty-three years old, and I know more about customer service than these guys do. Come on, let's get our ducks in a row Wolfsburg! I've had really good help & experience with these guys however I purchased a windshield for a 73 bus that's left me real frustrated. Glass guy was installing and it developed a run (his words) crack (my words) from top to middle of the new glass. I was watching and all he was doing was pulling rope from the inside while another guy applied pressure from the outside. Called Wolfsburg about a possible return. Nope. Discount on a new one? Nope. They say they check every piece. All I can say is that these are Chinese reproductions (anything else necessary to mention?). Bought some upholstery using the on line catalog picture. What I received wasn't close at all. Turns out I needed a different color that they don't carry. I felt really misled by the catalog picture. No help on their end except to inform me I should have known the color. So, I'm out return shipping and a restock fee. I may shop here again but won't be the first place I look. Lesson I got was make sure to call and talk with someone to make sure you're getting the correct part. Don't rely on the catalog. Did the same thing with a turn indicator relay, fortunately on that one I confirmed it first and didn't order. Indeed, our website is entirely useless and misleading for this item. Your suggestion of displaying a scanned image is surely a better way of demonstrating the actual color. These are the best quality parts I can find for my VW. Other websites sell products that are intended for use on old VWs, but are not like the originals. One example was fuel tubing - another website offered what appeared to be the OEM style braided fuel hose, but in reality it did not look like the original and was low quality (frayed, broke). The stuff from WW looked exactly like the originals! Also similar were sun visors - the common aftermarket brand were not the same shape and were too short, but the WW ones fit perfectly. About 1/3 of parts that I've gotten from other places either did not fit or failed - so far everything I've ordered from WW have been perfect. Their specialty seems to be early VWs, ('50s and early '60s) so I do not always find everything I need for my '68. But the selection they do have (which is large) is great. I've been able to find many obscure parts that nobody else has. read more

My first time at WW I received top notch customer service and quality products. I never leave bad reviews especially to a place I like, but I showed up to pick up a few parts, had my list organized and the Gentleman at the front said that I needed to call in my order and pay for it over the phone from the parking lot where I was standing, even though I was standing right in front of him, which didn't make sense to now, stand the same exact distance from him and even look at him while taking on the cell. I just got off the phone with these guys about a purchase that was made literally two evenings ago. When I looked at the invoice. There were several doubles. I called and tried to get them before they shipped. Didn't happen. I don't know who I talked too but let me tell about being scolded like a child. This guy was rude. Told me " you better get it right before you order". Ouch. I didn't think it was my fault at all. I ordered "1" of each. Period. That must have been some kind of glitch. I said I Tom would send it back to them unopened. He said ok 15% restocking fee!!! I ordered them day before yesterday! If you want quality parts, this is the place to order from! You will pay a little bit more for it than if you order the cheap imitation knockoffs from elsewhere, but it's totally worth it. My wife and I are restoring a '73 superbeetle, and we ordered a laundry list of parts from them on a Thursday. They were shipped on Friday (except for one that was backordered, no big deal) and at my door by Saturday. WOW.
