Came here for dinner tonight and had a lovely time! First of all, there was amazing live music which made the overall ambiance very nice. The service was also fast and the waiters were very kind. The drinks were also incredible. The food was very good. We got the seared salmon which was the table favorite. We also got the bolognese which was very good, and the cacio e Pepe which was ok. Horrible. I went w a large group for a 5pm dinner. Some of us were leaving at 630 for a UCLA Basketball game. We informed the server to please bring appetizers and entrees at the same time as some needed to leave early. We ordered at 515 and at 630 about half of the entrees had been served! Waiters were reminded several times during the dinner. We left to go to the game and asked for my food to be packed to go. The manager said it might not be ready yet! It was a burger and fries! I asked him if they would do anything as an apology and he said they bring the food out as it's done. No hint of taking any responsibility for the unbelievably poor service. So I took the burger to go and ate it in the car before the game. Btw it was dry and overcooked. Horrible service and attitude. Will return for the steak for sure; So juicy, tender and fatty. That Mushroom Truffle Arancini-though! Bursts of truffle flavor bombs, as it compliments the Fontina cheese. The Chef's spin on the Lebeneh had sweet and smoky flavors, deliish. Don't forget about the Kim Chi beef tartar! So many delicious items. They make a mean cocktail too!! Got the $29 burger.. extremely salty, thinner, skinnier knockoff of the father's office classic. Bacon tasted like it was cooked way ahead of time. Bill said it was a $38 burger, which is what I'd guess they've been up charging most customers, and after asking a few times why it was different from the menu and website price, they corrected the bill. They also told me truffle fries were included so I said I guess I'd have them, and they tried to charge an extra few bucks for them after correcting the bill. If they were truffle fries, they had zero truffle flavor and just some Parmesan. Maybe the cocktails are a better reason to stop by.. otherwise I can't see this place staying in business very long. read more

I'm never in west L.A., but I happened to be in the area for a week in early August and had a solo dinner here. Thanks to a very friendly/nice host, I sat at the bar, so I was attended by the bartender, Eddie, who I think was also an assistant manager. He was awesome. I really wanted the sea bass, but since it came alone, I asked his recommendation for a side dish, which was a burrata toast with peaches. It sounded like a weird combination to me, but the sweetness of the toast with the spiciness of the fish was perfect together. I loved both, but they paired especially well. Nothing on the cocktail list was calling to me, so I asked Eddie to make me something based on my tastes. He delivered and gave me solid cocktails. The second drink was actually from the list, half of which he created, and it was my favorite. In other words, trust in Eddie. He was also very genuine and sweet and patient with other clientele that were a little on the obnoxious side. I went on a Thursday night at 6ish, so it was pretty chill. It's described as "fancy," but the environment wasn't intimidating, and I didn't feel like I had to be really dressed up. I interacted with a few other employees who were also very friendly... I'm not sure if it was because it wasn't too busy at that time, but I appreciated it. It definitely started to pick up at around 8. Went for a quick pre-show cocktail before heading to the Geffen. We were placed at a table in the far corner near the bar, across from a very loud prep room (crashing dishes). We were ignored (blatantly avoided eye contact) by 4 separate servers before I could flag someone down to ask them if we were supposed to order at the bar - got a brusque "Yes." in response. Then we were ignored by the bartender who helped 4 other people, some of whom arrived after us. After finally getting his attention, we waited 10 more minutes for drinks (we were looking at our watches and contemplating leaving). One server finally noticed us and only after reminding the bartender that we were there did he begin to make our drinks. The chef/manager seemed to be having it out with his staff in that prep room right next to us. Made us feel very uncomfortable. Drinks tasted good at least, but cost $20 each. My husband received a Groupon for wolfglen. When we arrived and presented it we were advised that they no longer accept it but the manager stated he would honor it and our meal was on the house. WOW! We were not expecting that. We enjoyed the evening with blueberry and burrito pizza and an artichoke pizza. Both were delicious. I went to this restaurant based on the good reviews. However I found this restaurant very disappointing. I went for lunch and the server mentioned that the menu has been updated. They have pizzas and salads for the most part. He recommended the pea tendrils salad. It basically had a small amount of lettuce, broccoli, peas, chicken and goat cheese. Kind of a weird combination. The salad dressing was not green goddess. It was watered down oil. Definitely not worth $25. read more

Based on all the rave reviews, we were super excited to try out Wolfsglen, which is the old Fellow restaurant, but under new ownership. We opted for a slightly larger table in the bar area as opposed to the VERY small two-top in the main dining area. The server said the restaurant is known for its cocktails and mentioned that they have a (wine) bottle list as well if we wanted it. We weren't in the mood for cocktails so we asked for the wine list, which was actually pretty nice - very thoughtfully curated and lots of options from many regions, including some more obscure things like savagnin from Jura. The markups are quite high for the wines - for the several bottles I checked, the average markup for a $30-50 retail bottle was well over 100%. We opted for an Alsatian white ($40 retail, $120 on the list) and this is when it started becoming very clear that wine is just not at all the emphasis here. (1) The bottle was brought straight to the bar to be opened before we had a chance to inspect it to make sure it was the correct bottle/vintage; (2) The server struggled mightily to open the bottle - it took several minutes and the help of a couple other people. (3) The server did not smell the cork to check for cork taint (4) The server poured full glasses and did not offer a small taste to make sure the wine was sound (5) The wine was served at a temp that is much higher than is typical for white wines - probably around 60*F would be my guess. (6) We refilled our own glasses as our server never came by to do it. Thankfully, the wine itself was showing beautifully. With such a wonderful list, it's really a shame that there's very little education or emphasis on wine service. On to the food - we had the shishito peppers and the bone marrow as starters. The shishito peppers ($19) were nice and the glaze was savory and sweet. Wife enjoyed the bone marrow ($25) but I thought it was pretty average and rather expensive for what you get. Next, we shared the cacio e pepe ($23), which was pretty solid - not too salty, as it can be sometimes, and the noodle texture was decent. The only thing that would've improved the dish is grating the cheese finer and taking it off the heat because there were bits of congealed cheese in the otherwise nicely emulsified sauce, which happens when the cheese is added to a really hot pan. We finished with the steak frites ($43), which was good as well. The finishing salt was a bit unevenly applied so some smaller slices of steak were really salty, but the demi was solid, as were the fries. They also have a really taste truffle aioli, which I recommend with the fries! Overall, the food was good, but a bit on the expensive side for what you get. The service and general vibe of the restaurant didn't really scream upscale fine dining to us, but I doubt this is what they're going for. Also, be aware that if you sit at the tables in the bar area, the bartenders are your servers. Given their emphasis on cocktails, they are pretty much always busy making drinks so don't expect the same level of service/attention as sitting in the main dining area. read more

Had dinner there last night and sorry to say that it's definitely a downgrade from the former Fellow :-( It's a beautiful space with great servers. However, the menu is just too safe and uninspired. It's almost like a "greatest hits of the 2020's menu". Beet salad? Bone Marrow? Beyond Burger? Cacio e Pepe? Brussels Sprouts with balasamic and bacon? Check, check and check. They're all there. Nothing too inventive going on here. With that said, food was nicely executed and reasonably priced for the quality. I would probably go back, but hope that the chef works on the menu a bit to add some more interesting dishes and flavors. read more

We went there this last Saturday night with a party of 12. My husband and I arrived early and had drinks at the bar. Eddie, the bartender was incredible! He was so friendly and his cocktails were delicious. Dinner service was superb. It felt like we had 4-5 staff tending to us. Each and every one of them were cheerful and very professional. The food was 11/10. We ordered brussel sprouts, cauliflower and labneh for appetizers. All 3 were awesome. The labneh was a HUGE hit and we ordered more!. I had the Rigatoni Diavola. I loved it. Wolfsglen is good. That's it. Not great, not bad, not amazing, just good. I would say this is a great place to come if you need a last minute dinner res for a party that doesn't care about cost or frills. Some things to consider: Service: 5/5. One of the highlights of my experience was the friendly and attentive wait staff. Constant care, and attention. Super solid job. Value: 2/5. This is where this place really misses the mark for me. I think it's important that a restaurant is consistent with their pricing. The burger is $29 which is steep but when we saw it go by to a nearby table, we saw why. It's big, juicy, and comes with a mountain of fries. Still steep for a burger but I get it. On the other hand the other dishes like the pastas, shawarma, and meat mains are incredibly undersized for the price. This was disappointing and left me wanting. I'm fine paying for a great meal and I know eating out in LA comes with a price tag, but there was little justification for the prices. Menu: 3/5. The menu is very very safe. The chef took no risks in making the menu and decidedly looked at all the restaurants in a 10 mile radius, took the top sellers, and created a menu. This isn't the worst thing as there are lots of favorites, but foodies beware, this place is not for you. Ambiance: 4/5. The ambiance is pretty solid. I think this place could benefit from about 30% more tables as my only note was it felt a little empty and "dead" even at max capacity. I think it's fun to be in a place for dinner that feels full and lively especially in this part of town but it felt a little tired. It was clean, modern, and well thought out though which was nice. We tried this place out last night before going to watch a UCLA game. The place is very hip/trendy. We had 5:30 reservations but kiddos were hungry so we showed up a little earlier. Everyone that works there are so friendly. We had 3 adults and two children. We ordered the Bolognese, Beyond burger, the rotisserie chicken, beet salad and salmon. Everything was amazing but my favorite was the chicken! It was SO TENDER! The green sauce on the bottom made it even more special. Amazing tasting food. Had the mushroom arinicini for appetizers and I don't even like mushrooms. The labne was the star dish with homemade bread that was melt in your mouth delish. We had the caesar salad with chicken and the chicken wasn't what we preferred (dark meat with some fat on it and more of an Asian taste which didn't compliment) - The salad itself was really good though! Wish they had that salad with a fresh piece of grilled salmon or shredded white meat chicken. Our son loved the steak. The service was slow and very shaky. Everyone involved with the service seemed really confused and not very experienced but we could have been there on a off day. They forgot water and some of the drinks. Then it took a while once they remembered about water to actually get it for us. The restaurant itself was cold and it was a cold day. It felt a little dark inside too.
