I really liked how the restaurant didn't skimp out on the shrimp portions for the honey walnut shrimp -- the dish tasted super yummy and authentic. I loved the perfectly crispy fried shrimp coated with a creamy sweet sauce, topped with candied walnuts. The well-seasoned broccoli also complements the dish super well! Would definitely reorder this dish when I have cravings. The beef in garlic sauce had a really great savory flavor, and I appreciated that it was well balanced with veggies. The sweet and sour pork, however, was a bit bland and the meat tasted a bit dry, hence I would not recommend. Finally got some of this in my own after having it catered at work. When I ate the orange chicken I could just tell the sauce and everything was made from scratch or at least they home make the sauce. Definitely one of the more solid Chinese food spots in the Valley! Tried some of the usual and most popular dishes which were solidly good - not amazing but good. The sauce on the Pon Pon chicken was a bit sweet for my taste but I liked the crunch of it. My standout was the beef pan fried noodles - crispy noods but still with some tender ones (how it should be!), in a rich beefy gravy, loads of veggies and tender beef - get this!!! Very cute new modern decor inside. They have a HUGE menu so lots more to try! Staff was friendly but nothing to write home about. Bottom line: I'd recommend and go again. read more

Don't order the wonton soup. It is a plain brown broth like watery soy sauce with a couple of undercooked raw dough wontons, each enclosing a tiny sliver of mystery meat. That's it. Awful inedible. The vegetarian Delight was marginally better: no flavor just veggies in a bland translucent sauce but the veggies were fresh and crisp. I saw they had shumai dumplings and decided to get some even though they were double the price of other places I've had that were home made. They were not good at all, they were tiny defrosted bites of what tasted like potato wrapped in a wonton wrapper and a watered down dipping sauce. if I could give one piece of advice it would be to take these off the menu. These were so bad that if it was someone's first time having shumai they would never want to try them from any other place and that would be sad because shumai are delicious. read more

Got off work and thought, "where would I like to eat on the last day before they close all restaurants?" So I yelped for great Chinese food and this restaurant came up. I saw the reviews and thought, "I'm in." From the moment we stepped in, the first thing that hit me was the ambience. It was intimate, Art Deco and held a soothing warmth when you walked in. I was greeted by server named Jade, who was friendly, engaged and accommodating. We ordered appetizers that included the tako yaki and vegetable tempura. Both dishes came out fresh to order: The tempura was light, crunchy and not greasy at all. The tako yaki was crisp and burst with flavor. The "tako cooked to perfection. I ordered a small bowl of won ton soup; definitely not watery. The broth was bold and rich in flavor, the won ton a very nice balance of meat to wrapper. Our entrees came out next... I had the triple won won which was black pepper steak with onions and mushrooms, honey walnut shrimp and "rainbow" chicken (chicken slices with snow peas, water chestnuts, carrots in a white garlic sauce). First, the black pepper steak. Although the menu said it was spicy, delightfully it was not. It was a nice balance of garlic, pepper, and rich brown sauce. It had cubes of steak, sliced onion, mushrooms and minced garlic. It looks tough but it was so tender and again the flavor was on point. Next was the honey walnut shrimp. The shrimp was plump and cooked to perfection, the sauce was creamy and so very tasty. Not too sweet and it paired well with the taste of the shrimp. Finally the rainbow chicken. So delicate in flavor but you could taste each individual ingredient and together it complemented one another and made for such a light yet delicious entree. For dessert I had oolong tea and it reminded me of my younger days, when my grandmother took us weekly to our hometown Chinese restaurant. She always made sure we had tea to end our meal. Oof. I was really hoping for some yummy Chinese food, and most the reviews seemed super positive even though there are a few that are pretty negative. I got the Honey Walnut Shrimp with fried rice, and an Avocado Roll. The shrimp was completely slathered in thick mayo like sauce that seriously felt like I was squirting a bottle of mayo in my mouth when I took a bite of shrimp. I do enjoy Panda Express' honey walnut shrimp, but this was a struggle to eat. I had to use a paper towel to wipe the sauce off before taking bites. I recommend asking for less sauce if you're getting this but even with less it wasn't worth it. The fried rice on the other hand was completely dry and hard. I'm guessing it was pretty old, or just way undercooked which was super sad. The avocado roll was okay, this is the only thing I'd get again but it's not worth coming back. I'm guessing something happened to the management because all of the 5 star reviews are older, and the 1 star ones are all newer. Would do 2 stars but this place definitely does not deserve the ratings it currently has, so I'm balancing it down with a 1. Do not recommend. Ok kiddos. Its Sunday and everyone wants Chinese food! I stumbled upon this WIN WIN (see what I did there guys?) due to my go tos being closed on Sundays. Well, I think this is going to be my family's (and my neighbors) go to now. Service was super friendly (thanks Brian!) and so fast. The meals were delicious, clean, and fresh. The hunan beef was garlicky and spicy, and the mushu pork had this really nice balance of shitake mushrooms and napa cabbage. Everything was delicious. Loved the food, the service, decor, and spacious seating booths! My favorite was the gyoza (dumplings) and noodles! My kids thought the walnut shrimp was the best they ever had. They also liked the Vegas roll. The crispy beef was alright (it was the only leftover we had). The only suggestion I'd make is to have tea cups for hot water. First time trying this place and it was amazing! We were greeted right away and our server Jade was so nice. We started out with the Bao Bao Platter which was fun and we got to sample different things. Then we split the Sweet and Sour Triple Delight which was delicious. We also split the Mongolian Beef which I could just drink the sauce, the mixture of onions, sauce and beef was one of my favorites. Topped it off with the Mochi Ice Cream. We stumbled upon Won Won Kitchen tonight and we couldn't be happier! First, our server was wonderful. Second, large menu with a lot of options. We found this place pretty accidentally, I'm really happy that Trolley Square is coming back to life! I usually judge Chinese food by their Hot and Sour soup and theirs was great! Not slimy, the veg still had some bite and it had the perfect amount of spice! The veg lo mein was great and their orange chicken was not at all like we expected! The candy crush roll was not great, but okay. The dragon roll was barely edible. The chicken egg rolls were okay, but came with an overly sweet, bright red dipping sauce (I was expecting the clear, lightly sweet sauce like is served at Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, but I guess that was another mistake on my part). It was overly sweet and seemed like it had a lot of MSG. If I was a teenager it would have been a 10/10. Now, too much sugar and MSG. I will not be going back nor will I recommend it. This place is a hidden gem here in salt lake. Coming from the east coast, good asian food is hard to come by in Utah. I can say this place lives up to the standard that East Coast Chinese food has set. We got the crispy beef which was AWESOME! We also got the teriyaki beef bento which was pretty good, they give you slices of steak which was a nice surprise. I will say that service was a bit slow but the restaurant was adorable and the food made up for it.
