Me, and my gf, definitely won the food/value Olympics when we found this gem. Less than $11 for a chicken Udon noodle entrée? Seriously? Yep, seriously. It was delicious and had lots of veggies, too. I got takeout and ordered the crispy beef as well as some cream cheese wonton. The crispy beef was delicious and has a good sauce with vegetables as well to balance the dish. It says spicy on the menu but I did not think it was spicy. It came with rice. The wontons were also good and come with sweet and sour sauce. My food was prepared quickly. Honestly, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. The decor was nice, I'll give it that. But everything else, just awful. I always finish my plate, just raised that way. I had four bites of my meal and had to admit to myself it was nasty. My wife couldn't eat her order either. It seemed the staff knew they were working for a restaurant that was flagging as well. They were checked out; on their phones, chatting with each other. Attitude and atmosphere boarded on hostile, was at best aloof. Then, as if we needed another reason to never come back, used the restroom before leaving and find several dead cockroaches on the floor. Couldn't leave fast enough. read more

The honey walnut shrimp was great. The other food items we ordered was not desirable though. My husband ordered Fried rice with his shrimp meal, he was served plain brown rice. They served his meal first, and I waited for 45 minutes for my food to Come out, which was nothing more than a sushi roll. We were in the only patrons in the building, so we have no idea why it took so long. Sushi roll tasted like mold. For entertainment: they gave my husband and I separate tickets. I'm very confused by the other high reviews. We ordered delivery and they forgot the won ton soup (ok that can happen), the chow mein is soupy- I've never had it served like that before, and the fried rice tastes like they haven't cleaned their grill in a very long time- not edible. The food is also loaded with salt- I've had a quarter of a plate and I'm already thirsty. We spent a lot of money to be majorly disappointed. read more

We've been waiting patiently for Won Won kitchen to open for over a year, so we were thrilled to see that they were open and we decided to order right away. We chose takeout over dining in. I would've given three stars but I think they'll perfect their game soon enough and I feel like 3 stars over 4 can negatively affect a business (which has employees and families to feed). The reason for "three" stars is that the fried rice we ordered had no ham, egg, or peas in it. Just fried rice. Eh. The walnut shrimp was overloaded with a cream sauce that made it a little too gooey. And the seasame chicken was decent chicken, but there was barely any sauce on it. I hope they take a tip from their Thai neighbors at Skewered and spend a little more time perfecting the ingredients in their dishes. Downtown SL needs an awesome Chinese spot and I'm confident that trolley square will hold them up. For now, I will keep this post here and remove it once they've mastered their dishes. Not Good, not even close. everything was ridiculously greasy, and you could smell it outside before even entering, the oil, not the food. My sons lo mein and husbands shrimp even had a hint of chemical flavor that mirrored a slight gasoline taste. the staff was really nice and accommodating but the food was just aweful. We do not recommend and will not be giving this one a second chance. read more

Love that this place is in walking distance and finally something to take out in Trolley Square. The decor is beautiful and they have cool group seating. Ordered this through DoorDash and was so pleasantly surprised! The food came piping hot, and with everything we needed! The crispy beef was so good, with lots of veggies. The sesame chicken had a great flavor, but a little dry. Mongolian beef had an amazing garlic flavor. All in all it was so yummy and I'm so happy to have a Chinese delivery place available in town!! We were quite impressed with this place. We stopped in for a late dine-in lunch. The interior decor is really cool, there's a big mural on one wall, red lanterns and other red Chinese ornaments hanging around the place. Cool atmosphere with a fountain inside the entrance. The menu has many options, Chinese and Japanese. We got appetizers of fried dumplings and shrimp and veggie tempura. Can't go wrong with either and the serving portion was generous for both. Crisp tempura, everything tasted very fresh. My meal was the House Udon. It was like an egg drop soup with Japanese and Chinese ingredients. The shrimp was cooked just perfect, the flavor combo was tasty, and it was a decent size bowl. My companions meal was the Dragon & Phoenix. Delicious flavors, the shrimp in this dish was also cooked perfect. Will definitely eat here again and try the other menu items. Overall it's great flavor and value for the cost in a really cool Chinese atmosphere. I feel like places like this are hard to find these days and this place is a real gem. read more

With Sampan closing in Sugarhouse, my family was looking for a restaurant to replace it. The first time we ordered, we played it safe and stayed away from the "spicy" options. Meal arrived and it was quite bland. Okay, try again. Ordered the spicy options. Still very bland. In addition, the order was wrong. Okay, mistakes happen. Try a third time. The order was, again, sans two items we paid for. This time we called and they could not have cared less. On the plus side, the portions are big (quantity over quality), and the food is okay, if you like things on the bland side. read more

We're new to the city and were craving crab wontons, a favorite in our old hometown. Unfortunately, we would never order them again from Won Won. The crab smelled pretty funky - we could only eat two - and the "stuffing" was more like a light spread on the bottom of the wonton. We also got spicy tuna rolls, which were definitely not freshies. But I mean, you get what you get for 5 bucks per roll. The spicy sauce saved them; it was delicious. We also had the chicken fried rice but would not order that again. It was very bland, so we used what we had on hand to spice it up. To end on a high note, the crispy beef was amazing. The sauce was flavorful, the veggies were crispy, and the beef was tender. Disappointing. Ended up here with everything nearby booked solid. It had good reviews, so we walked in and were seated immediately. Only 4 other people were in the restaurant. Ordered edamame appetizer, two orders of tempura vegetables appetizer, and two sushi rolls. The tempura was the best part of our meal. The sushi, however, was mushy. No one in our group of 5 liked their entrees. Honey Walnut shrimp was termed 'the grossest thing I've ever eaten' by my grandson. My teriyaki steak was extremely tough. Rice was crunchy undercooked or old, I couldn't tell. My son's shrimp was okay, but his chicken was also tough and had a chewy texture. My egg drop soup had the smell of dirty unsanitized dishes, very off-putting. The house salad came with a tangy ranch dressing, which made me question if it contained white wine or sake. Their cuisine is American Chinese food. Let's that confuse with authentic Chinese cuisine. The food was much better before they changed chef. Now the food is too sweet and saucy.. The string beans did not taste fresh at all. The walnut shrimp is very inconsistent in that some shrimp were breaded and some weren't (never tasted this dish with breaded shrimp like I am at Sizzler). By far the best Chinese food in salt lake. They have a mixture of Chinese and Japanese, that I saw. I love the soup, their meat is fresh (fried was perfect, no extra oil) and veggies cooked just right. The location is super comfortable, modern and it doesn't smell like fried food!! read more

Been coming here for three years. Won won is solid. The food is good, hot, better quality meats and fresh veggies. Serving size is smaller than most of their competitors and prices are pretty close too. The ambience is much better than most but is starting to wear and tear and they could up the effort on keeping the place super clean. Still more clean than most of their competitors. Service, is great if you are like me and hate when servers linger too long or constantly check in. It's poor if you want a person to wait on you hand and foot. Nearly never a rush so you can avoid a wait and actually have a conversation with your partner/friends/family. It's a gem, not a diamond but still good. It's Chinese food... save the snobbery for the tapas places and fine dinning. I encourage all the non-snobby folks to give their business to Won Won. The crispy beef and tangerine chicken are my rotating go tos. Wife loves the noodles and they have beer and wine to boot. read more

This is a gem of a restaurant! From the Chinese tea served in a lovely glass tea set to pineapple water glasses our first impressions were beyond expectations. We ordered and the food came. It was absolutely delicious. We especially liked the Kung Pao Shrimp and Chicken in a light but flavorful sauce. The poke salad was packed with vegetables and incredibly yummy. The meal ended with the tastiest Mochi ice cream balls. We truly recommend this restaurant, and look forward to a return visit. Thank you! read more

We ran across into this place while going to whole food shopping. We thought we would give it a try since there are few Asian restaurants are open for dine in In the area. They have a big menu with both Chinese and Japanese. We ordered dishes from both menus and they were surprisingly good and portions are generous. They have sake, beer and wine. The wine and sake list is quite complete which is kind rare to find in Asian restaurants Utah. The restaurant is very clean and decor is comfy and beautiful.
