I knew that this place had opened in Reston last year and completely forgot about it until the other day when my parents and I were thinking about somewhere nearby to eat. The concept is innovative and pragmatic: make elevated cuisine more accessible to the fast casual demographic. 15+ restaurants from one convenient location with luxury offerings like filet mignon or sea bass! We said why not? One place to accommodate all of our taste buds. We placed a pickup order ahead of time and I drove to the restaurant. Anyone who has never been here there is a designated section with three tablets available to place your order. Near the tablets are hard copies of all the restaurants menus should that be your preference. I ordered two entrees from two different restaurants: this gluten free vegetarian bolognese from Walnut Lane and a Classic Cheeseburger on the Gluten Free Bun from Burger Baby The walnut lane dish was undercooked. The noodles were hard and the sauce was bland. The Cheeseburger I enjoyed eating it I would order it again. Even though I didn't have the best luck with everything I ordered, all the service workers were friendly and approachable, the food hall was clean, and the food arrived within the app's estimated window. read more

As we try different foods from Wonder, I will update my review. Recently, we ordered food that came from Marc Murphy's "Mainstay". I didn't update after the first time we tried it, in large part because I forgot to take photos. We had ordered "roasted chicken" and "pork chop". The menu for Mainstay claims that the "roasted chicken" is "simply the best roasted half chicken that you will find". I wish! The chicken was supposed to have crispy skin and the meat is supposed to be moist. Instead, it was dried out and the skin was flabby. The salad that came with it had some bitter greens in it and the dressing was also bitter. My husband had ordered the "pork" and he was raving about it. He said it was very tender and flavorful. The pork comes with a sauce that consists of: "sweet caramelized apples and spinach". I found myself wishing that I had ordered it, too. It shows up as a quite thick boneless pork chop on a bed of spinach with apple slices and potatoes, and a flavorful dark sauce/gravy. The chop is about an inch and a half to two inches of the tenderest pork he had ever tasted. So, this past weekend, we ordered two pork chop dinners plus a side of shishito peppers. The shishitos were prepared properly and we enjoyed them. The pork is very tender---easy to cut with a table knife and delicious. As I've mentioned previously, we recommend ordering food here by using Doordash. To find the restaurant whose food you want to order, search "Wonder, Reston, VA (or whichever Wonder is closest to you). Then, add the name of the restaurant you want to order from. Finally, add "DoorDash". DoorDash has separate listings for each restaurant. We don't recommend using Wonder's delivery: we placed an order with them that never arrived. I decided to get dinner from Wonder after receiving a flyer in the mail. The concept sounded interesting-you can order food from different restaurants across the country from one location. I ordered a veggie pizza from Detroit Brick Pizza Co. and tortiglioni alla vodka with garlic bread from Alanza. Unfortunately, the food was just average and didn't taste like it was from top-rated restaurants. It also didn't justify the high price for such small portions. Interesting concept and I guess the draw is that you can order dishes from a bunch of "restaurants". We thought the quality and portions were disappointing for the price. After the Light the Night walk for Blood Cancer United in RTC we decided to walk to Wonder for a late dinner. I was impressed with the large menu! I ordered the Sunday Meatballs from Alanza, my wife ordered the Drunken Noodles with Chicken from Sri Pra Phai and our daughter ordered the Truffle Burger from Burger Baby. I will start with the good, my meatballs were wonderful. The Truffle Burger was good for its price. However the drunken noodles were a failure. The meatballs were tender and light, with a very good sauce and covered in ricotta and parmagiana cheeses. I would definitely come back for the meatballs! The Truffle Burger was good, there wasn't a strong truffle flavor and the sauce was a bit sour tasting. The noodles had a wrong texture for drunken noodles. The sauce had a little kick, but overall it missed the mark for Thai drunken noodles. I will be back to try more dishes, there were so many options that looked good! Did I say the menu was huge? We ordered delivery for work and went with Wonder due to the variety of cuisine. They literally have something for everyone. However, overall it was just ok. I think they might be trying to do too much in one spot. We ordered Thai, Mediterranean, and BBQ. All of it was good but I wouldn't say great. I asked everyone what they thought and each person said "good, but...". Having said that, it was REALLY convenient to please a diverse group with a diverse menu. I tried to order online several times as they offered a code for doing so. Each of the 7 times failed. So I drove over and ordered in the store, no savings. It was a long wait in a bland space. It felt more like a methadone clinic from the movies. Where random people, in this case food delivery drivers, came and went. No drinks to buy, just menus to read and one food driver who freely passed gas while he waited. The food was delicious. I imagine it tasted the same way it would if I had dined at the orginating restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. Hopefully they will fix their online ordering technology so everyone can access it. read more

I was so excited about Wonder to have a take out option where everyone can find something they like. But WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. Take a look at the photo of the burger we ordered vs what we received. Not only did they get the order totally wrong (no tomato, no lettuce, no bacon), but this burnt hockey puck of a patty is pathetic. Tried this new food-hall concept for the first time. I was impressed. About two mikes from our condo, went over as soon as I placed the order. Our dinner was already out waiting for me. I was in the mood for Chinese and the General Tao chicken from the Kin House was very good. Got two meals out of it, too. The wife ordered the Thai Peanut Salad from Royal Greens. She liked the salad but was surprised that a small container of Ranch dressing came with it. We will definitely order from Wonder again. read more

Interesting concept for grab-and go quality food. I just recently discovered Wonder and was pleasantly surprised. You can order online from their App in advance for pickup and delivery. This is a walk-in location where you walk to a kiosk and place your order from one of the participating restaurants. It seems like they recreate recipes from top chefs and restaurants in their kitchen in the back. My experience was quick and easy. I ordered a Beef Souvlaki & Kalamata Salad from Yasas and it was prepared within 10 minutes. They ask for your phone number so you get a text message when your order is ready. It is left for you on a shelf to pick up. If there is a staff member there they will call your order by name. There is limited indoor seating because this place is meant to be grab-and-go. You can order from different restaurant menus, and I could see this as a nice option for office catering. I would recommend and would come back again. read more

Unfortunately, my experiences with Wonder Food Hall have been consistently disappointing. The service is average at best, and the food quality leaves much to be desired. Most recently, I placed an order that was supposed to be ready for pickup around 6 PM, but I didn't receive it until 30 minutes later. It was clear that the staff was overwhelmed--there was a young person working expo who seemed completely swamped with customer inquiries. Eventually, a young lady, who was extremely helpful and pleasant, provided an update and admitted that they were struggling to keep up with the orders. This was not my first frustrating experience: the first time I ordered, my food wasn't delivered at all. The second time, I received an item that was falsely advertised on their website. And the third time, my food was burnt. I hope Wonder Food Hall can improve their service and quality, but at this point, I cannot recommend it. read more

Maybe my expectations were too high. I truly wonder how wonder will stay in business. My husband and I ordered from each of the menus. I got plant based options and he got meat and the steak. After tasting the food I realized we paid way too much for what we got. The food looked better than it tasted. The actual food did not have much flavor and the texture of the meat was very chewy and yucky. It reminded me of airplane food and frozen dinners. Never going back. read more

This place is terrible. Unless you like a place with cooks who can't get the order right, take an hour to prepare your food, and treat you horribly when you ask the status. Ordered delivery, even with the advertised "no delivery fee" there is large service fee that is not a flat rate but a percentage of your order, and of course added in a tip as well We got the Detroit veggie pizza (8"x6" for $17.45) which was barely warm, congealed cheese and way overpriced for the size and quality. Very salty and not much sauce. Definitely will not order that again. The salad from royal greens was a better value but it arrived with the lid off and the dressing lid was also off and had dumped into the bottom of the bag. I have been to Wonder twice since it opened. Overall, I would say it has been a disappointment. The food I ordered has been mediocre to just bad. With both the sesame beef and Penang curry with chicken that I ordered, I got a handful of chewy meat in an overwhelming amount of sauce. Although the sauce for the Penang curry was decent, the sauce for the sesame beef was gooey and much too sweet. Their onions wings were good and the salt and pepper wings were okay (you can do much better at Buffalo Wild Wings). As for their egg rolls, the skin was well fried and crispy but were skimpy on filling. I'm not sure if I'll go back to try a different cuisine or just cross Wonder off my list of take-out places. read more

Worst experience from food delivery ever. I will post the receipts. I placed an order for the first time at 5:04 PM. It is now 7:11 PM. The food is still not here and I was told at 6:33 PM that it was finally prepared and on the way and I live 4 miles away. Had to make my kids a quick dinner, an hour later than usual because kept being told over and service that it was prepared and on the way. Never came isn't here. My Mexican fries were fine but didn't taste very chili lime seasoned. I got the make your own chicken burrito bowl, which I'll never order again. The chicken was terrible. While it wasn't what I expected, that's on me for not reading more about what this is. It is pretty much meant to be a pick up your order and go place, though there are some small tables to sit at if you want to eat there. It's good at what it is. My husband ordered the Alanza cheese pizza and it was money! It smelled and looked amazing and he confirmed it was not only great but got better with every bite! He also ordered the garlic bread from Alanza and really enjoyed it! I opted for a Royal Greens custom salad and it was also very good though I wasn't a fan of the grilled chicken on it. That is really a matter of personal taste since it was just the seasonings that didn't appeal to me. The veggies and lettuce were all very fresh which is nice. My only serious complaint about the salad was the price seemed high for what you get. I also had the Magnolia Hazelnut Banana Pudding. Before you order the Magnolia Banana Pudding, understand you are not getting what they serve in New York at the Magnolia bakery. This is a blended, frozen version packed with cookie pieces to replicate the flavor and you have to thaw it before you can eat it. After I understood what it was, I was pleasantly surprised it was kind of good. The cookie pieces and the flavor come out yummy but it has an odd texture from being frozen and it feels like you are eating an odd, soft ice cream. We plan on coming back and trying some other items. Of everything we had, I think the pizza was the best item. It was also only $10. read more

We ordered delivery from Wonder and it was delivered on time with all items. My husband ordered egg rolls and lo mien and enjoyed both. He said the egg rolls were "really good" and lo mien was "pretty good." I ordered Pollo a la Catalana from Jota and enjoyed it a lot, but did think the price was a little high. We also got a burger from Burger Baby. The burger was good for the price and they had gluten free bun options which was really nice for me since I eat gluten free. To end the meal we tried one of the rice crispy treats from the dessert place which was good but again maybe a bit pricey for what it was. It was fun being able to order different types of food from one place. I was disappointed to find out that the "food hall" set up is just one counter. We were hoping for a true food hall experience! I read a lot of reviews saying the quality of the food wasn't very good, but we were happy with what we got and would try other items.
