The beef brisket soup was perfectly seasoned and comforting. I appreciate the cilantro and baby bok choy in the soup. My young children could have split the bowl, but they also wanted to try the sesame noodles. The chili sauce and black vinegar added more dimension to the noodles but not necessary (I love the heat). My Hong Kong in-laws finished their bowls clean, and they are usually picky when it comes to Chinese food! It's a mom and pop restaurant, and as their restaurant name says, the food is truly made from the heart. Tried out this new spot in the Sandlake area and we were SO happy we stopped in! This gem is rather unassuming from the outside but inside is neat and tidy with about 15 or so tables, each appointed with its own house-made chili sauce. Our server was friendly and attentive and the kitchen and service staff worked together to bring our food out really fast. We had the scallion pancake with beef and cucumber salad with peanuts to start and both were excellent! I am not a fan of cilantro and they were very accommodating to ensure it was omitted from all our dishes. The cucumber salad was nice and light, and the scallion pancake with beef had a great texture, very reminiscent of roti. We tried the brisket soup, cold pork noodles, and chicken fried rice for our entrees and all were outstanding in their own right. I especially enjoyed the crispy fresh cucumber garnish on my pork noodles. They didn't bring water to our table--nor did they even ask if we wanted any--and they made us feel uncomfortable by watching us invasively the entire time we were there. The place is small inside. The parking was fine. It is in a strip mall. You can see the chef make the noodles. The crab ragoons are made with imitation crab meat in house and are mostly cream cheese. The wings are very delicious and flavorful. I would highly recommend the wings over anything else on the menu. The broth was good but nothing to rave about. The noodles did not taste good on their own. The amount of meat compared to the noodles and broth was lacking. The stir fried noodle dishes were better than the soup noodle dishes. The stir fried dishes had more flavor but still not all that amazing. The stir fried dishes reheated well. We will not be back as we have had better somewhere else. The waitress was good but once we got our food we did not see her again until it was time to pay. Also, there was a mix up as to who order which dish on her part. read more

The salad had a vinaigrette of sorts with fresh onion, garlic, and chili peppers The green Szechuan peppercorn left a little tingle on the tongue. The House noodle soup decently priced for lunch was a large portion with beef, shrimp, and egg. Each component had its own flavor/seasoning but harmonized so eloquently. The handmade noodles are crafted right in front of you, and it's fascinating to watch the chef work with such skill and experience.
