    3 Entree Meals

Ordered online for a pickup order. It was simple and quick. My order was ready within the time they provided. When I picked up the attendant was friendly and order was ready to go. It was quiet and clean inside. The food was so good! The portions are friendly and their pricing is great compared to other place for what you get. We tried their combination noodles 10/10. We got the 3 entree plate to try different items. It was also 10/10. Def coming back and trying more of their dishes. Highly recommend.

The restaurant felt clean and welcoming as I entered. I ordered the Sautéed Beef and Fried Shrimp 2 item dish. It came with macaroni salad, rice and steamed vegetables. There was a kind lady at the register. She was patient and took time to make sure my order was correct. The fried shrimp was really good so was the beef. I feel like there was way too much rice, but I only say that because I don't know how to tell myself not to eat it all. Lol. There was a brown sauce that I was given. I am not sure what it was. There was not a-lot of flavor to it. It didn't stand out as tasting like teriyaki . I put it on anyway. Overall, the portions were great and the food was good. Pricing was really reasonable too. I paid 15 with tax for the two items. I would have loved the macaroni salad to have felt cold in my mouth. I probably would have liked it more .

3 Entree Meal - Kalua Pork, White Fish Fillet, and Katsu Chicken

My friends and I were craving Hawaiian BBQ but didn't want the usual chain option. We came across T&Y Hawaiian while searching on Yelp. Not bad for a first impression! We ordered at the restaurant for takeout. The inside seating area is pretty small, but the food came out really quickly. As soon as we ordered we heard the kitchen making our order, so it was hot and fresh. We each got the 3 entree meal. I got the Kalua Pork, White Fish Fillet, and the Chicken Katsu. We also shared an order of the Spam Fried Rice on the side. The Spam Fried Rice was great! Really good sized portion for sharing as well. The entree meal also impressed, all 3 proteins tasted flavorful and fresh. While my pork was nice and juicy, unfortunately the juice did leak over into my Mac salad and Chicken Katsu, making the breading soggy. I can't really knock points on the restaurant for that though, there's only so much room in the box when you get 3 proteins. I think next time I'll just ask for the Kalua on the side. I'm looking forward to trying to this place again soon!

The staff was very very nice. The food was plentiful and definitely more than enough for left overs. We are from out of town and wanted to try everything so we also ordered manapua and the beef short ribs (AKA...Kalbi). I thought the teriyaki chicken was the best tasting of everything we ordered and the chicken was very juicy. The soup and fried rice was filled to the gills with shrimp, so I am very happy about that. The flavor was a little bland but I usually add a whole bunch of hot sauce anyway so that didn't bother me. We also ordered taro boba tea and mango smoothie boba... and they were ok, but definitely needed a little more mango in there to actually taste like mango. It seemed a bit flavorless. The taro tea just needed a little more sweetness. Overall I give it 4 stars because the people here are just so so nice and the food is plentiful! These days other places give you so little and charge way more so I appreciate the quantity and the quality was good. Just needed a little more seasoning.

Great food at a really good price. The price scale for the build your own plate is very fair. We got Katsu, BBQ Beef, BBQ Chicken, Kalua Pork, and Spam Musubi. It was all very very good! The Kalua Pork in particular impressed me; probably the best version of it that I've had outside of Hawaii.

The concept is simple: order your meat by the pound, pick your sides, grab a dessert, and snag a beer, specialty soda, or fountain drink on your way to the register. The dining room is basically a redneck cafeteria, and I mean that as a compliment. Long community tables, no table service, and everything is self-serve. Honestly, I prefer it that way. I can grab as much white bread as I want, refill my own drink, never have to flag someone down for napkins, and I've had some great conversations with other patrons. The brisket is consistently good, and I always order it moist. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is another favorite, but the baked beans deserve their own mention. They're loaded with bits of shredded pork that add both texture and smoky flavor, making them one of the better barbecue sides around. Rudy's is one of those chains that doesn't feel like a chain. The focus is on the meat, and it shows. It delivers the consistency you'd expect from a larger operation while still feeling like a neighborhood barbecue joint. That's not an easy balance to strike, but Rudy's pulls it off.

The Pit Master was outside when we walked up to get a look from outside the fenced area. He invited us in for a close up look. All were loaded with briskets, pork shoulders and turkey breasts. The smells and visual was phenomenal. As you approach the front door, there are menu's written in black sharpie on peach paper. Another sign of a great experience in store. As you walk through the front door, the sites, sounds and smells kick the olfactory senses into overdrive. Family style seating of long tables with benches exemplified the family atmosphere. I can tell you that the pictures of the whole hog sandwich, the side of Mac/cheese and the boat of pickles, onions and jalapeños don't do it justice. The flavors were seriously the best bbq I have experienced in all my years. I've eaten bbq in Texas, New Orleans, Oklahoma, Kansas City etc as well as my own and this by far the best I've enjoyed. And in my opinion, the best in the Arizona Valley. DEFINITELY WILL BE A RETURN CUSTOMER!

When I entered, the place was pretty empty and the woman behind the counter told me they were out of a lot of things - they start smoking in the morning and when they run out they are out. But she did have pork ribs and burnt ends left, which were the things I was most interested in. She said she'd make me a big platter with ribs and burnt ends and I ordered a side of bacon potato salad. I saw her put everything into the computer a couple times as she was working to get me a good price. The side was 8oz potato salad. Unfortunately when I got home with my order, it wasn't my order. She'd given me someone else's order entirely. Instead of several pork ribs and lots of burnt ends I had a chicken leg, some brisket, a couple pork ribs and some catfish. No potato salad, unless the tiny container was a taster, but maybe that was tartar sauce. I was happy to try so many things, but felt bad for whoever didn't get this order. By the time I realized it I was already home and wasn't going to return cold food. :( The catfish was the strange one - I wasn't sure what it was when I touched it (since it wasn't what I ordered) and upon touching it, it felt strangely wiggly. As if it was a piece of deep fried silicone or something. But we cut into it and I tried it and it was honestly my favorite thing in the whole meal! Super tasty!! When I was at the restaurant the woman told me the meats didn't have BBQ sauce on them, but when I opened up the containers, the burnt ends and the ribs did have a little sauce on them. So it was overall a super confusing situation. Bread rolls were boring, but the rest of the food was good. I'd like to actually try the bacon potato salad next time I visit. Restaurant is large and was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere. Food was fresh and tasty.

I finally decided to try this restaurant after going back and forth with the other negative reviews that are out there but sadly, my negative experience was also similar to the others. I walked into the restaurant and immediately noticed that it was dirty and very dusty, however, some of the best food I have had in the past has been in places where some dust lives. I overlooked that part of it since the food smelled sooo good as soon as I walked in and I wasn't planning on dining in anyways. A few of the reviews talked about the rude staff, I didn't have that experience. Were they bubbly? No. Rude? Also no. The service was the only part of this experience that wasn't negative. I spent over $50 on the food which turned out to be mostly INEDIBLE. I cannot remember another time where I have had to throw out this much food. I ordered the sampler platter, fried shrimp with fries and collard greens. First to note was that the food smelled so good all the way home and I couldn't wait to dive in. I started with the shrimp. The shrimp had been cooked more than once and these were not only hard but also chalky, these shrimp were overcooked to the point of cremation. I thought maybe it was just the one shrimp that I had so I tried another one but unfortunately, they were the same and you could tell just by touching them. The french fries were also overcooked and tasted like they had been fried more than once maybe a day or two prior and then fried again, and also were very overcooked. The collard greens were cooked well but all I could taste was SALT. I love salty food and I tend to put salt on everything so the fact that I'm saying that it was inedible due to the amount of salt should tell you how over-salted this food was. The sampler platter had rib tips, wings, one sausage, and french fries. The rib tips were prepared with way too much liquid smoke, which overpowered all of the meat. Which makes me think, why would a BBQ spot be using liquid smoke unless they aren't truly smoking the meat? The rib tips were also very overcooked, hard, and dry. One of the wings was edible and did have good flavor, however, the rest of them were also extremely overcooked and dried out. The sausage had way too much spice (pepper) but not enough flavor, also had a huge issue with way too much salt. I'm not really sure how you can over salt something, but not necessarily give it enough flavor. In total, I was only able to eat half of one of the shrimp as the rest I had to spit out. And was only able to eat two of the rib tips because the rest tasted like nothing but liquid smoke and were extremely dry, overcooked and too tough to eat. I only had one bite of the collard greens to know that I could not eat them also due to the amount of salt. I was very hopeful that this would've been a good place especially so close to home. I have had amazing barbecue in the past and I've also had really delicious food from people that are from Chicago, so I feel like this was even more of a letdown than usual. Again, my biggest issue was that this food was inedible and unfortunately, I had already wasted $50 on the food. I was tempted to call the restaurant and talk to a manager or the owner however, I had seen all of the other reviews of rudeness and negativity when people brought food issues to the attention of the staff. I also have zero interest in going back had I been offered replacement food. So I will chalk this loss up to just an overall horrible experience. I hope that this was just a bad day for them but the mistakes that were made along with the other negative reviews, tell me that is likely not the case.
