Crab wontons were great! Share, portions are very large. The young lady and chef got into an argument. It was awkward. Assuming it's the chef's daughter coming in late to work. Absolutely delicious. I was really not sure about eating there, but I decided to try it with the Door Dash app. Wow, it's just delicious. The dumplings are so flavorful (even more so with the sauce) and the beef and mushroom meal I got was so tasty. It truly is a hidden gem. We've been going to Wong's for 10 years now - long before they added the froyo part. Watched their son go from a little boy hanging out at the store to working the register and helping run the place. We have tried other in-town places off and on just to compare and keep coming back to Wong's. I can't speak for the sit-down experience, as we ALWAYS do take-out, and yeah sometimes the service has been a bit slow - the first few times I showed up after placing an order and had to sit around to wait a bit. The food was always well worth the wait. The combination plates are always a good deal - lots of food for not too much money. If you've never tried crab rangoons, check those out. The froyo addition was met with skepticism on my part - I figured they were just trying to jump on a fad - but they implemented it well and it's nice to have them as a local option. If you want great Chinese food at a good value, Wong's is a great choice, especially if doing take-out. Other reviewers complaining of customer service should worry less about what's on the TV there or maybe research healthy Chinese food options before going and lessen the expectations of being pampered every place they go. GREASY!!! And rude! Young kids running the front when we went to pick up our order were very rude. We have a $52.00 order and had to ask for everything, including soy sauce. They acted like we were asking for something we shouldn't?!? The food, all 3 dishes were all very greasy. The 2 hot and spicy dishes were floating in the orange chili grease. This restaurant is two in one, Chinese combined with a modern frozen yogurt place. The decor is literally split down the middle, with colorful teen-attracting froyo furniture on one side, and your typical small town Chinese restaurant decor on the other. The food was good, and well worth the cost. However, the owners probably need to focus a little more on the customer experience. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and the person that took our order came and sat down at the table next to us to eat his lunch. He then proceeded to watch the flat screen TV on the wall, that was blaring some show in Chinese. My advice to management, put the TV on something like ESPN, or CNN (or Fox News. You are in a small Texas town, btw). Next, turn it down or on closed captioning. I have a feeling there aren't many Mandarin speakers in Midlothian, and they probably won't be back if they have to listen to a TV blaring a language they don't understand. All in all, though, the food was good, and we'll be ordering take out in the future, and will definitely be back in the summer when the weather is conducive to frozen yogurt. read more

The lady working the front is extremely rude and seems irritated that she has business. It was not that busy at all when we went in to order some food to go as we clearly annoyed her along with the phone ringing. It's hard to want to come back after feeling we were a inconvenience. Ordered several dishes as we had never been here before and wanted to cast our net wide for best result. Unfortunately, results were all the same. This meat (chicken or beef didn't matter) seemed to be the worst fatty selections your could imagine. Overall prep/flavor was ok but nothing to make it stand out. If management wants a quick fix and desires to be better than Panda Express, go for the investment of better cuts of meat. read more

We ordered online but didn't know that they delivery so we called to see if they did (after reading a review) but said it would be faster if we picked up. So hubby picked up since that was our plan anyways. Food was all good. Sweet and sour ck, general tso ck, pot stickers, ck chow mein, and ck teriyaki. My kids ate a bit of everything. We've had their food twice, since moving to Midlothian 6 months ago. This is the best Chinese food that I've had in a long time. Fresh and delicious! My son loves their noodles, my fiancé and I love their Crab Rangoons, Generals Chicken and their Sweet & Sour Chicken. When you order online you'll notice they have a huge menu. After reading all the reviews here, I could not wait to try this place! I am a huge Chinese fan, and just moved into the area. Being new to the restaurant, I had a couple of questions, but sadly, I never made it past the young punk at the front counter, who never looked up from his smart phone the entire time I was there. First, I asked for his recommendations for "healthy choices." He said he had no idea. Then I asked for an explanation of their menu item called "Chicken Sticks." His answer was (all while still never glancing up from his game session,) "Chicken on a stick!" I asked how long he had worked there, and he said a long time, so then I said, "Then why can't you answer any questions about the menu?" His answer was "Because you are the only one with question." On that, I turned and walked out. I guess those who have written good reviews must not have needed to interrupt his game session. Too bad. I've usually had pretty good dealings with them. Until today. Usually their pretty cool. I ordered some items to be delivered but I misunderstood their delivery system. I figured because it was letting me order it and pay for the delivery fee that everything went through alright. After waiting almost an hour I called them to see why my food hasn't been delivered the 10 minute distance. They had it sitting there waiting for me to pick up since I didn't have the minimum $25 order price they wouldn't deliver it but they were not going to call me. And gave me a lot of attitude when it was picked up. They refunded the delivery begrudgingly and weren't the most gracious when confronted with this poor customer service. Looking for a good non-chain Chinese restaurant in this area is tough, so I was happy to find out about Wong's. It's your typical neighborhood Chinese place with the full menu and no MSG. Worst service ever and I have never even heard or been to this place! I got a call at 10:20pm this evening from someone yelling at me to pick up an order and even called me stupid when I told him I never placed an order and he had the wrong person. He continued to yell at me to come pick up the food. I calmly told him I have never even heard of his business and did not place an order. He threatened that he would tell all businesses in the area about me & not to do business with me. I don't even live in the area but I have NEVER experienced such poor service in my life.
