We used to go here weekly when it was Pearls. We always got their Chicken Katsu, Meat Jun and their many "sides." Always on point. However, maybe a month or two ago we went there, didn't know it was now "Won's Korean BBQ" because everything appeared to be the same, except for the food. Used to be called "Pearl's Korean BBQ", but now it's called "Won's Korean BBQ". No one knew that the name of the restaurant changed and they took certain things off their menu. When I went to order about three months back, I saw the menu change. No biggie for me if what I wanted was no longer there. But what was a biggie was that when I mentioned that they should update their website because what I saw they didn't have, the cashier got sassy with me saying that they're a "new restaurant" by pointing to their new sign. So I told them that I didn't know that, didn't bother to look at the sign either. With all that said and done, mad, but I decided to drop it. But then another worker asks me (sassy also) if I looked at this certain website address. I told her no because I didn't know that they were a quote on quote "new restaurant". I also mentioned that they can't be a "new restaurant" if nothing else has changed. Food is the same, how it cooked looks the same, sides are the same, menu almost the same, they even have the same restaurant look AND STILL WEARING THE PEARL'S SHIRT AND VISOR. I told her that I wasn't gonna continue staying mad after talking to the cashier, but since they still wanted to prove that they're a "new restaurant" I figured I let them have it. The reason why I got upset was how the message was delivered to me and I made sure they knew this. My food had no taste. Waste of money. Not spending my hard earned money there no more. Went to the same area to order food from a different place and they're still wearing Pearl's. SMH read more

Stopped by during lunch to grab just a plate of sides (veggies). It was pretty busy, but, noticed they had no line. As I approached the cashier Tiffany, there was no greeting. I also noticed there were 2 other employees working the front, one waiting to ask me what sides I would like, and the other standing next to the cashier talking amongst themselves in their language. It doesn't bother me when I hear people speaking in their own language, but not in front of customers!!! It's $10 for 5 side choices! Basically the price of a regular plate of food. The portions weren't great for $10. This location is really lacking customer service skills. It probably explains why they didn't have a line!!! Visited this Pearls location for the first time. Their was nobody in line so it was nice. We ordered three plate lunches and a small drink 40 bucks. We ordered a chicken katsu curry with the curry sauce on the side because we weren't going to eat there or eat anytime soon so I wanted it on the side for later. Okay no problem. So the girl told the guys in the back chicken katsu curry, a kalbi and a mini chicken katsu. Okay. We chose our sides and off it went. That was hard because there were so many sides to choose from but I love the potatoes with the mayo. It didnt take long then they called our number 87 so we walked up and she said the cooks put the curry sauce on, I was like oh oh. I guess they didnt say curry sauce on the side. But they redid it with no problem. So it took a little longer but it was okay. I went to the Mexican restaurant to get me a churro!I would say overall service was fast. The girls working upfront are super friendly and nice. I hope this page stays here...plus I'm happy they didn't take long to redo the katsu curry plate. read more

We were having a small socially distanced gathering -- with a few from the mainland and knew that pot-luck was not an option. We thought of Pearl's and WOW was it the best choice. * Called the order of 14 plates in with no problem. * They confirmed early in the day AND when the order was ready * Pick-up was smooth * The food was still hot * GENEROUS portions of bbq chicken that was seared nicely and all the 4 veggie choices were fresh tasting even a few hours later * Side of mondoo (was a great choice) We order here frequently but not this many orders. If you have a # of people I would encourage you (since we cannot have our "usual" pot-luck style) to do this! Ono, Ono and better yet that they made it simple. read more

My family and I used to get food from here ALL THE TIME but that stopped when we called to place a take out order and our call wasn't going through. I went in to place the order and after placing the order I asked them if something was wrong with their phone, the two workers looked at each other and laughed saying something along the lines that my number was blocked. I asked why and they couldn't answer me. We support this busy all the time and they couldn't provide me with an answer, instead they laughed. Pearl's Korean BBQ is a quick, affordable, and tasty takeout place in the food court at Maui Marketplace. My regular order at Pearl's is the flavorful meat jun (egg-battered beef) with delicious sides of seasoned tofu, seaweed salad, seasoned cucumbers, and my favorites: chop chae and shoyu potatoes. The mayonnaise potatoes are also great, but they are very garlicky, so be aware in case you are not a fan of strong garlic flavor. Sometimes I will just get the sides with no main entree at Pearl's, because there are so many options, and they have such a robust offering of sides. Overall a good little takeout place for fast Korean food. read more

Around 2 months ago, I went to Pearl's Korean BBQ for lunch. The first thing I noticed was a nice selection of side dishes. I chose a main dish and several side dishes. The cashier was courteous, took my order and gave me a receipt. While waiting for my order, I noticed the same cashier lift her mask and blow her nose. Keep in mind this was during the Covid-19 pandemic. She then put her mask back on, but did not wash her hands. There is a sink in the area behind the counter next to where food comes out from the kitchen. I was the only person waiting for my order, so it's not as though she was in a rush. Then she blew her nose a second time and put her mask on, again not bothering to wash her hands. Just then my order was ready and she put utensils and a napkin in the bag with my order. I considered asking her to wash her hands, but hesitated after seeing how some people on the news reacted badly when told to follow safety practices. I hope that this will be a training opportunity for management to make sure their workers follow proper hygiene whether they are behind the counter or in the kitchen. The food was tasty and thankfully I did not get sick, but unfortunately the lack of hygiene is what I remember the most about Pearl's. read more

OMG choke food, 4 hefty plate lunches that weighed nearly over a pound each plate as they had to put it in 2 bags. What a pleasant surprise! I've been to some of the best Korean BBQ restaurants on the mainland and this place is very comparable. Outside appearances can be deceiving as this place is located in a food court by small shops and it looks like your average Mall food court. I ordered the mini galbi plate which was a large portion and a good price for what you get. They're generous with rice and two sides: I got the fresh kimchee and japchae (glass noodles). Everything was delicious and tasted authentic. This seems popular with the locals and now I know why. I'll make it a point to come back when I visit Maui again! read more

With this pandemic going on right now it is important to wear face masks and it is a protocol. The mayor of Maui states everyone should be wearing face masks when out in public. So I ordered my plate lunch before me a couple ordered for plate lunches. While waiting I kneel down to look through the window they pass plate lunches through. The man in black clothes cooking and the other three were wearing orange shirts. Four of them were not wearing masks and one man that was sweeping or mopping the floor was making noises like Arrrr Arrrr arrrr.... Everyone who is smart enough to know that no matter making that kind of noises or speaking and saying yes or no you are making droplets from your mouth. And if it lands in people's foods even as you package it in the take out plate containers it'll all be there your germs spreading. I approached the three girls behind the counter and they spoke Filipino to the guys and within about two to three minutes one of the girls called me and she said I'm sorry they are cleaning that's why so they don't wear masks. I said it doesn't matter they supposed to wear a mask cleaning or not cleaning. And why is he sweeping the floor when you're preparing food? After I picked up my plate from one of the girls I was walking away I turned around and they were laughing at me. I think they should be recommended somehow the seven of them hi. The date was Saturday May 9th 2020 at about 2:30pm. Check your schedule to see who they all where!! It was hard to even think of eating my plate lunch when my plate lunch was faced with four individuals that was not wearing face masks. Ample parking with lots of seating to dine in the food court, unfortunately most of the chairs and tables are off balanced. There's a public restroom to entire food court and mall shares, cleanliness was "ok". 3 stars because the women working the counter area were pushy and lacked customer service. read more

This is my favorite fast food BBQ place! I love all the side choices, and the portions are huge. We always 2-3 times the leftovers from one order. The staff is really nice. They've been there for years, so you can tell the owners are nice. I also notice there's more people going there than L&L... I guess those guys gotta step up their game. lol read more

after a long day hiking haleakala crater, came here for korean bbq. it was great. got the bbq chicken and meat jue combo, which came with several size. meat jue was beef covered in breaded egg. portion was huge. I was only able to finish the sides of sweet potato and corn and bean sprouts, and had to eat the rest of the meat and rice the next couple days. if I come again I will get the kalbi. read more

I really like this new place. I don't think I have ever been to a fast Korean food place before. But I can say I really like the place. They have lots of selections for their sides. Such as Kimchee, noodle, corn, seaweed, cucumber...etc. I have had their kimchee soup and it is good. I also was very surprised by their large portion.
