Ordered Nashville Hot Boneless wings from Uber Eats but the wings came with no sauce. Women on the phone said if you do not specify on Uber eats that you want them tossed, they come with sauce on the side. Any idea how someone ordering for the first time on the app would know that? Doesn't have an option for tossed or not tossed. The sauce on the side was Korean BBQ, not Nashville hot sauce. When I called to ask about why there was not sauce on the wings, she explained all of this to me. I said "you gave me Korean BBQ instead of Nashville Hot." Her response was "Oh. Well Alright." End of conversation. Good food and vibe whenever I'm in person, I'll be back plenty of times in the future, but just a warning to all ordering on Uber eats to specify in comments to get wings tossed in the sauce. Currently writing this review as I sit as my table here bc i felt it was that important. So me and my girlfriend came here with some friends to grab some drinks and snacks before we went out to dinner for our birthdays. What a nice experience! They had no tables open inside when we got there and we were seated outside. It was really hot but it was okay. We simply asked if the umbrellas could be tilted a little because we were SWEATING, but a man named Carlos so kindly just took us to a table inside. We were then given BJ shots which were great. Carlos was great and his energy definitely made it fun. Once we had a table inside we were given complimentary shots at half time during the bears game, which was pretty sweet. a lady named Hannah came around and handed them out and she was super sweet. I dont know why it took me this long to write a review on woodies. First off, love this place. One of my favorite spots in old town, let alone the city. I dont know what the hiring process is here but they do an amazing job hiring great people here. Hostesses are very welcoming, barbacks work extremely hard all night, bartenders are very quick, and the managers are amazing. Quick shout outs to Tia (bartender), Emma (bartender), kaitlin (bartender) Gabe (manager), and Shawn (head manager). If it wasnt for all these people, the bar wouldnt be what it is today. Its because of all these genuine people why the bar does so well. If they dont have equity in the bar, something is wrong. Whoever the owner is, please consider these people. Nashville hot is my personal favorite flavor, but if you prefer saucy style over dry rub I'd recommend the Korean BBQ. Classic Buffalo also never disappoints. A bartender drank too much, named Michael, he pushed my girlfriend over and had no remorse. I looked at him after and he stared me down. I was a bit thrown off when the waitress asked how I wanted that cooked... Can you even eat pork undercooked? Well done, prease! -_- Anyways, my burger was a bit underwhelming and the sweet potato fries for my side was just aiiiite. Food wise I was actually enjoying taking bites of everyone else's food. My buddy ordered the double layer nachos with chicken which is large enough to split for two maybe even three people and no joke probably some of the best nachos I've had in Chicago. My gf ordered the foghorn leghorn sandwich which I enjoyed much more than my burger from the one or two bites that I took. Music selection here I recall being early to late 90s throwback. Good stuff! I was there this past Friday for the Frozen Goose Egg Toss sponsored by Goose Island and it was a very fun event. Organized very well by the way thanks to the awesome staff and manager Toria! My friend and I came here for dinner and drinks before going to a show at Second City, which is just steps away from Woodie's. There are two floors, and we sat upstairs, which was less crowded than the first floor on this Friday night. We didn't realize this was a OSU-themed bar until we walked in, and I think my Ohioan friend enjoyed it. They have drink/food specials for every day of the week, and on Friday, they have $6 Budweiser tallboy + shot of Jameson/Fireball/Jack Daniels/Malort (choose 1), so we had to indulge. For food, I got the Southern salad with fried chicken (choice of grilled or fried). It was a pretty average salad; the chipotle ranch dressing was not very flavorful, and the fried chicken was a little dry. The atmosphere was dark, pretty loud, and good for drinking with friends. I would come here again for the drinks and atmosphere, but probably not for the food. read more

If you're looking for a great date night out, go here for dinner then walk across the street to a comedy show at Zannies. If you get a chance to meet the manager Shawn, as we did, you might laugh and have a good time at both. Shawn came to our table and welcomed us just after we sat down. My wife asked him what he recommends and he told us the Bourbon Wings. Great call! He and our waitress were very helpful and welcoming throughout the night.
