The people who work at Woods Hill Table are lovely and attentive. The ambiance is cozy and warm. The salad we started our meal with was delicious. However, the main course were mediocre at best. When our meals arrived at the table they were cold and bland.Huge disappointment. We've been to the restaurant many times but recently have thought the quality of the food has really declined. We decided to try WHT again this evening -- "let's give it one more chance'" This will be our last time. My sense is that the restaurant only stays busy because of the limited options of restaurants in the area. read more

Review entirely based on the bar service and drinks. Came late and waited for enough seats to open at the bar, which thankfully didn't take too long. Service was great from the bartenders and they were super friendly (but not overly). They made good drinks, were attentive, and brought out bread/ butter unasked. Absolutely delicious. Great vibe. Unique dishes. I had the roasted vegetables with some mozzarella that was out of this world. Grilled broccoli? Yes please, more! For entrée I tried the halibut (pictured) with a magical daikon chorizo hash that was a food pinnacle. It's also cool how they have a farm where they grow the beef, chicken, and some vegetables! While we were eating there, one of the farmers that the restaurant sources from was having dinner right next to us. And one of the waiters told us that he's worked in a lot of restaurants and this was by far his favorite. Easily an instant iconic place to dine. That chef is going places! Many clearly marked GF choices on the menu. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal chatting with other people and the bartender. Highly recommended. I had the gnocchi (not GF) - melt-in-your-mouth pillows of perfection, and wife had a GF chicken entre that she said was very tasty. read more

Went here for an engagement dinner and it quicky became my fiancé's favorite restaurant. The fireplace, exposed beams and lighting give this place a rustic homey feel. It's so rare to find a charming place with such high quality healthy food. We were greeted with free champagne and the service after that was impeccable. We were told exactly what came from their farm and what was sourced locally. The pate melted in my mouth and the bread was so good we had to ask for the bakery's name before leaving. The halibut dish was perfectly cooked and delicious although the sauce was a little overbearing. My fiancé got the homemade pasta which was firm but not al dente. My only problem with this place is that is isn't any closer! That being said we did go to their location in seaport and it is 100% different very modern contemporary but with a great view. read more

What a disappointing meal.... Our server was, at best, disinterested. And while we've been to Woods Hill many times, this was by far the worst meal we've had. The blackened swordfish was dry and tasteless; the pork chop fatty, and the burger (YES, the reliable burger!) was UNreliable --the french fries cold. I'm not sure if it was the chef's night off or what...but I'd be hard pressed to return. I do wish I could give this 3.5 stars but since I can't, 4 it is. I'm not too sure how I feel about this place to be perfectly honest. We've been here twice now since we live locally, once for brunch and once for dinner. Now, I'm down with the whole "Farm to Table" thing...supporting local suppliers, sustainability, and all that. With such an approach comes compromise and deviation from our traditional eating habits. Understood. But there comes a point where it becomes, for lack of a better term, silly. For example, when we went for brunch we politely asked for some cream to go with our coffee (which was delicious). We were told by our waitress that cream was not available. Ahhhh, excuse me? I chuckled and said "No cream at a FARM to table establishment?" She tried somewhat awkwardly to explain that since there is an extra step involved in processing milk to cream it is something the management decided against. Huh? I was tempted to go to the gas station down the street and bring them some. As far as the food itself is concerned, it's a somewhat limited menu and you'll probably need to look up on your phone what certain words mean. Our group had the bucatini, chicken, and pork. You don't need to know specific dishes because there's literally one of each. All the dishes were prepared FAST and tasted superb. Regarding the brunch food, it was equally good. Freshness is oozing out of this place, and that's awesome. There are a bunch of young food runners that also fill your glasses and bus the tables, all of them were friendly and very attentive. Now the waitstaff............ We've only been here twice so these comments are reflective of our experience with only two waitresses. At the risk of sounding rude, both were flaky...out there....dare I say even slightly bizarre? Standard questions regarding certain dishes were answered with nonsensical ramblings. It's actually hard to explain, its as if there were a Woodstock 2019 concert from which they recruited. They certainly were friendly, that's for sure...but neither had the slightest bit of concern with how our meals were and both were AWOL after the initial order was placed. On both occasions we gave our credit card to the busser. Finally, it terms of value I'd give it a 7. It's pricey, for sure. but you get what you pay for. read more

I got the steak frites, I ordered it medium. They brought it out extremely rare. I sent it back to kitchen very nicely and asked if it could be cooked longer. The manger brought it our 2 seconds after and it was still very much rare. I don't even think they put it on the grill. It was very frustrating as it was a very expensive meal. Heard wonderful things about this place. Drove from Winthrop to Concord for dinner. Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. Service and salad was really good. I was underwhelmed by dinner. I had a $52 ribye that had no flavor. I doubt was even a ribye. It is my favorite cut of meet and I have never had one so blah. The food was good. It is farm to table, the quality of food is apparent. There are gluten free and vegetarian options. I had the grilled pork, which was ok. It was tender and juicy, accompanied by squash and apple mash which was really tasty and different. However, I personally believe the meal was overpriced ($30) for the amount of food I received. My boyfriend had the WHT burger which came with fries. The burger was good and the fries were well-seasoned/tasty. I enjoyed his meal more than my own. Customer service was good. The waitors and bar tenders were very friendly and attentive. This place has great ambiance. The restaurant is more spacious than what you'd expect from looking outside. It's located in West Concord Center walking distance to a few shops. Overall, I'd go again, but would get another meal. read more

Very expensive and pretentious beyond belief. After looking at the menu we decided to forgo food. bar nibbles were in the $15 - $20 range. I'm a Scotch drinker. I prefer the more expensive blends over single malt. The "bar scotch" was some brand I had never heard of for $12 a glass. Really? Johnny Walker Black would have been a better choice but pretensions dictate that you must have only stuff us plebeians never heard of. Sorry but I'm offended by the attitude and the pricing. We visited again this past Friday. I reserved a table online this time. We were a few minutes late but the hostess was ready for us and seated us promptly.. Our waiter was attentive and efficient. We went the appetizer route again. Roasted broccoli (excellent), beet salad, calamari, and cheese plate. All fantastic. I appreciated the calamari preparation. Not breaded and fried, which is what you get at most restaurants. Not sure how to describe it but it was great. My wife is still hoping they will have some NZ sauv blanc but that may go against their attempts to stay mostly local with everything they serve. I had Night Shift Morph, which is one of my recent faves. They have Finback, too, btw. This restaurant is so incredibly well run. Great food, great staff, well trained. Worth the money for sure. We went on a busy Saturday evening. The place was lively and bustling. The décor was very chic and woody, complimenting the farm to table concept. This concept is nothing new to me as I have been to many restaurants with the same concept. However, all the ones I've been to in the past doesn't even come close to Woods Hill Table. Instead of sourcing their ingredients from local farmer's markets, or working with local farmers, they have their own farm. They have complete control over their food source and menu. I was very impressed. Now for the food, fresh fresh fresh. I loved the local oysters Aunt Dotty's there. They were so clean and sweet. We had basically all the appetizers on the menu, and everything was delicious. I think my least favorite was the fried clams with the watermelon salad. That combo didn't mix very well for me. I think separately they would have been fine. The short ribs was amazingly tender and flavorful. Their homemade sausage was perfect. A lot of time, sausages are too salty, and you can eat one or two at most, but here they are perfectly seasoned. The deserts are as good as they look as well. The service was great. My water was consistently filled. The waiter checked on us plenty. Everyone around us, meaning other guests as well were having a great time too. Personally, if I come in happy, and leave even happier, then that place deserves 5 stars in my book. read more

A summary in one sentence: I've never had broccoli that made me SO happy. Now who says something like that?? But its true! The food was excellent and uniquely prepared (so much so that I had to try the sweet potato ice cream, which unfortunately was a miss, although I can't say that's a surprise). It's a nice restaurant. The tallow fries and tallow home fries are amazing. My favorite parts of the meal. I had the lamb. It was good. The whole dish seemed too busy and unfocused. It needed something to bring it all together. The eggplant thing was really bad. They didn't make it soft and tender. Instead it was rubbery. My husband had the pork. He was also quite underwhelmed. Everything needed a little more salt and oomph. Overall though the ambience was nice, the service was nice. I'm giving them a five star rating because my meal was perfect (scallops) and the dessert and cocktail was perfect as was the service. But more importantly my wife ordered something that wasn't the right thing for her and (a) the manager came out and offered to get her anything else and to have it done quickly and (b) didn't charge us for her meal. This place is so good - farm fresh food, interesting combinations, delicious. Had their signature grilled broccoli for an app. Bolognese for dinner was very well done. The food and presentation was very good, however service was just okay (and somehow they over salted mixed greens - who puts finishing salt on a salad!?). We asked a bartender and server various questions and they were stumped. Not challenging questions either (i.e. do you make the katchup? Were do the oysters come from? And do you have Sambuca?). I would have expected the service to be spot on at that price point. It was busy for Wednesday night, and environmemt and music was nice. I liked the fresh drink and food choices.
