We ate here for the first time last weekend and had wonderful service (I wish I could remember her name). We sat outside with our puppy, which made it even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding! I love Brunswick stew, and theirs is the best I've ever tasted. The BBQ pork and turkey were also delicious. On our drive back from St. Augustine today, we decided to stop by Woody's Bar-B-Q again, and the food and service did not disappoint. The service isn't the best, not very inviting. They seem like they hate their job. The floors are gross food scraps are everywhere. Looks like they haven't sweep since yesterday. The service is always first class and friendly. Thank you Servers! Great place to have a drink and some bar food cooked to order. However, if you want BBQ, Woodys unfortunately isn't the place. They are holding on to the ribs, chicken and beef way beyond their life expectancy. Today, "A taste of Woodys" consisted of a chicken breast that was close to being completely dehydrated, two ribs that were actually crunchy, very dried out and old, and sliced beef that was also completely dried out. The sliced turkey was the only edible protein on the plate. My suggestion to the Manager, manage your hold times closer. The ribs and chicken were clearly on their second day of being reheated. The money you're loosing due to customers like me not going back regularly far outweighs the meager loss connected to wasting food that's past its hold times. Incredible menu! We began with an appetizer of fried squash and onion rings. Both were delicious and not at all greasy. Two flavorful dipping sauces accompanied it. For our entree, we both had salads with pulled pork. Nice crisp Romaine lettuce with hard cooked egg and crisp veggies. But the star of the show was the pulled pork-- incredibly tender and flavorful. We don't like it overly smoky so it was just what we like. There was a choice of salad dressings but I used the spicy bbq sauce that was on our table along with a sweeter one. Gave 4 rather than 5 stars because of the noise level that night. It was trivia night and the participants were having a blast. It was noted on the menu that special requests were fine. That's huge for anyone with food allergies or restrictions. Service was efficient and friendly. Wait times for food were very reasonable. Stopped in while out in Baker County. Overall it was a good experience. The service was great and the food portions very generous. We got the sliced pork sandwich with fries and there was so much I only ate half of mine and took half home for later. Compared to Sonny's the price was a little high but the portions were definitely larger. Overall a good experience. read more

This is my third review for this restaurant. My daughter ordered three salads and onion rings through door dash. We received two salads. Of course we received a refund through door dash. As for the onion rings, they were hard. The salads mediocre. The lettuce was not fresh with pink ends. There were three cherry tomatoes, egg, cucumbers and a slither of turkey. It seems like everytime we've gone in, it gets worse & worse. We came in at 930 pm last night & at 10/1015, right after we had received our food, the lights were shut off & on several times while we were eating. We checked the hours & 11 pm close was what we had seen. We just got done driving all day, so we were trying to be quick but that was really absolutely inappropriate & uncalled for. We had even mentioned we were going to be quick. I could understand if we had shown up at 10 & made a huge mess & were stopping them from doin side work, which we told them we were fine with them doing it around us & wed be quick (3 out of the 4 adults were previous servers/bartenders for 10+ years). But we'd absolutely never shut the lights off on guests or be as rude as the hostess & the server who got our drinks were. Our main server was really amazing. She treated us great & was so sweet! But when you hear the back of house staff talking inappropriately (unsure if it was about us) & them turn off the dining room music & turn on vulgar rap loud where our children can hear it, its unprofessional. We were gone by 1030 at the latest. They could've rolled silverware, swept & mopped other sections, bathrooms, etc, all around us to where our table would be the last thing they'd have to do. Ive done it several times as a server/bartender for late diners. But the blatant rudeness, lights, music, & inappropriate conversations, especially around small children, was so beyond uncalled for. read more

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this place. Our waitress was just not very attentive, pretty forgetful, and very nonchalant. She always disappeared. We had drinks empty on the table for a while before we had to ask someone to go get her. We had to ask her twice for drink refills before she brought them back. We ordered fried okra, which was the best thing we got. Big portion for the price. Our food wasn't good at all. Dry meat (which we ended up having to send back), dry mac n cheese that looked like it had been sitting for a while, we also ordered a hot dog which was cold and hard. I purchased a bacon cheeseburger from Woodys Bar-B-Q in Macclenny, fl this past week, from the drive-thru. The hamburger was dry and the bacon melted on with the cheese, was not appetizing at all. It looked and tasted, like it had been cooked,sat for a bit and reheated. I couldn't eat it. The baked potato was not done,and it did not look fresh. It looked reheated also. So I just happened upon this place while searching for a quick lunch when I went to KFC next-door for grilled chicken only to learn they don't have that anymore. So I called them because the parking lot was very crowded to ask how long it would be to get a chicken salad to go. Much to my surprise they have a drive-through window. How fantastic. So I told her my order and I literally drove around the building to find a smiley person in the window. I dug out my money and paid them, and by the time I was done paying my food was ready. We were on the way back from GA and wanted some BBQ. This place was on the way home. The service, sweet tea and sides were good. I ordered the pork sampler along with green beans and collards. The meat was cold and dry - I'd give the meats a hard pass. The fried pickles (not on the menu) was good but very greasy. My wife ordered the mesquite chicken and said it was rather dry. $15 for two semi small pieces of chicken breast and two sides is kind of high. They do have a lot of seating and a small gaming area for the kiddos. Lots of TVs as well - I don't live in the area but even if I were I wouldn't come back for the meats. read more

I got the lunch pulled pork on Texas toast and it tasted old, and was reheated by chef mike. ( microwave ) it had zero seasoning, and left taste all to the imagination.
