So ended up paying $145 BASE for her haircut, and expected me to pay tip on top of that. I've always taken her there, and lied about why they were charging more.

His fur was already super long and I asked if they could fully groom him and they said no. When I picked him up he was in the office with huge dogs (he is 7 pounds and small) and he was in the corner scared to death. Then I called back 3 weeks later asking if they could please give him a full groom, and they said yes. I dropped him off at 10am, and asked if he could please not be kept with a bunch of big dogs and they just said "oh they're nice". Then they called me at 2pm (4 HOURS later) to tell me he had mats and they would need to shave him. I am fully aware that he had a small mat on his leg and a small one under his neck so I asked if they could just shave those areas, and they said no. I didn't want my puppy completely shaved so they said I could pick him up and brush them out myself. So not only did they not fully groom him the first time I brought him, they had him today for 4 hours and hadn't even started on him, lied about his mats, and suggested I just brush him myself and bring him back. I will never come here again. I also heard a groomer yelling at a dog that was whining "STOP IT!!!! IM NOT EVEN TOUCHING YOU" (in a super mean tone) Which I thought was highly inappropriate. And they never actually answer the phone. (I also echo the other review here - they let dogs pee and poop in the areas they keep them in and they walk all around in it)

If you're looking to strictly get your dog bathed/ deshedded prices are somewhat reasonable,…read morehowever DO NOT get your pet cut here. I should've listened to the older reviews, but gave benefit of the doubt given it has been a long time since last reviews. We asked for a teddy bear cut on our 6 month on Bichon and our poor baby came back with his nose shaved down to skin, his face cut severely uneven and his fur trimmed down very very short. We also specifically stated to not cut his tail and the tip of the fur is cut in a blunt end. We were also very clear we just wanted his face trimmed up and rounded out. NOT SHAVED. She also told us she was only going to be doing a scissor haircut for him so it would be an additional $15 only for her to SHAVE him anyways. I understand he's a puppy and may have been a bit of a challenge, but if you can't handle cutting a puppy either don't be a groomer or don't accept puppies. Keep in mind he has gotten groomed before when we lived in a different state and they were able to work with my pup perfectly when he was younger. As for my other dog who was only bathed and de-shedded he smells great and feels fantastic thus the 2 star review. Lastly, why is getting their nails grinded extra? Oh because she stated by clipping them with clippers it makes them sharp, idk about you but anytime i've clipped my dogs' nails they're never sharp. To be honest, just seems like the business is trying to find ways to squeeze extra bucks out of you. EDIT: Wow, never have I experienced an owner to flat out lie haha. Let me reiterate since, as previous reviews have stated numerous times, not sure what was lost in translation. We asked for a TRIM on his body, his tail NOT to be cut, and for his face to be rounded out. Not entirely sure where the owner is losing the reality on what was discussed. In fact she AGREED with us to go longer on his length. Yet she somehow decided shaving him was a good idea. Yes, he has been groomed before by a skilled groomer who had zero issues working with him. I can happily provide before and after pictures of his haircut. As for lowering the price on our lab pyrenees mix. He was originally priced at a higher amount given the owner was under the expectation that he would have a pyrenees coat, although i had stated he has the coat of a lab that's long. So yeah, the price was lowered because he has a lab coat. Now, if you want to charge client more because you cannot handle a puppy cut, it's best to not accept puppies. If you are slow and gentle with my pup he responds well to having his face trimmed. Needless to say, avoid this place. listen to the reviews. Owner should stick to baths only and retire the scissors. P.S. i went "public" because people should know what to expect when coming to this establishment. a choppy haircut not worth more than $10. Quite honestly, this is just the work of a lazy groomer. Updated to 1-star merely based on the owners lack of accountability and flat out lying in a sad attempt to save face. Should've known to just walk out based on how spaced out she seemed when dropping my pups off.

Thank you for your kindness! This was the first time my dog has received professional grooming…read moreservices. She's a rescue, and very nervous and scared of almost everything, so I was really hesitant. From the moment I called to book an appointment, to when I picked her up, the staff was so kind. As expected, she didn't cooperate very well, but instead of the staff making me feel guilty or shaming my dog, they nicely recommended I talk to my vet about a calming medication to help with the next appointment. Thank you Amanda, and the front desk staff!

Absolutely Horrible Experience. Do Not Take Your Dog Here!…read more We took our puppy to Modern Pet Salon for the first time because we heard they use scissors instead of clippers, which we thought would be gentler. It turned out to be a terrible mistake. We specifically asked them multiple times not to cut too much of her hair, especially since she doesn't like it, but they insisted she had too many tangles and needed a full trim. Not only did they ignore our request, but they cut our puppy twice, both on her ears--areas where there was no tangled hair at all. They even called us during the appointment to say she was bleeding. Later, they claimed it was because she had an ear hematoma and that they had just trimmed it. That was a complete lie. We took her to the vet, who confirmed that the injury was a fresh cut from grooming and not from any medical condition. She did not have a hematoma. They hurt her, and then tried to cover it up. They also asked us to use an old sock to cover the wound, which felt incredibly unprofessional and careless. Since then, our puppy has been extremely uncomfortable. She keeps shaking her head, clearly bothered by her ears, and she has been very sad and withdrawn. This is the first and only time something like this has ever happened to her. I'm beyond disappointed. Not only should they have never charged us for this awful experience, but they should not be handling dogs, especially sensitive breeds like doodles, if they can't do so safely and honestly. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Please protect your pet and take them somewhere else.
