I needed someone to come out and service my refrigerator. Marvin was the only one who returned my call. Before scheduling an appointment, Marvin had me check and do a few things that might fix the problem. What a classy person, he could have made a service call and charged me for something I could have repaired myself. When the problem persisted, he scheduled a time to come to my home. Okay, so I have a leaking LG front-loader. I called these folks and BAM right away at truck is at my door. If you see a line, stand in it. That seems to be the protocol here in the islands where shortages abound. I must have sensed that this line was worth standing in, and it was. Long story short, our refrigerator broke and Marvin was booked for two weeks out. Because of the rave reviews on Yelp, we waited by tossing almost all of our perishables and living out of two coolers. It was worth the first wait, and even the second. Our refrigerator isn't a widely stocked one so the part had to be flown in from Sacramento. Total wait from our first scheduling would about three weeks. The part came in early however, so Marvin gave us a call between clients and fixed it the same day he received it. I'm amazed at how well Woo's Electrical answers calls, keeps appointments and delivers on promises. This is an outstanding company for your appliance repairs. Well, I have to sing along with the 5 star song for Marvin Woo. First, Marvin himself answered the phone and efficiently set an appointment that was only 4 days from my call. That's a biggy if you've ever tried to find a reliable appliance repair person here. I can't tell you how many un-returned phone calls I made. One phone recording even told me to keep calling back even though they would never really be able to return my call. Ridiculous! Next, Marvin showed on time with a phone call just preceding his arrival. Organized with everything he would need, he made 1 trip into our house, repaired the leaking freezer and was done. Marvin Woo was reasonably and fairly priced. His van is VERY professional looking. So, I thought he might be kind of pricey. Not so. Very reasonable rate. We recently moved into a house. Previous wiring and work done by former owners can be confusing and often incorrect. Some of the 3-way light switches were wired and installed incorrectly. Given the positive reviews on Yelp, we called to have our ice maker repaired. At the time of scheduling the appointment, Woo Appliance explained that there would be a $68 charge to inspect the problem and parts and labor would be separate. This is the industry standard, but their service rate of $68 is relatively cheaper than what I paid from other appliance repair companies. Therefore, we scheduled the repair and the technician showed up on time. The technician was professional and took about an hour to thoroughly inspect our broken ice maker. He stated that we needed to purchase a new motor for the ice maker but the cost of $260 and the older age of our refrigerator should be a consideration before we repaired. The technician provided objective information and never pushed us to do the repair. In the end, we happily paid the $68 and decided not to do the repair. Nonetheless, Woo's Electrical and Appliance earned my trust with the fair service charge and factual feedback. I will definitely use them again and recommend to family and friends. read more

Mark recently came out to originally fix my dryer( that actually wasn't broken :-/ )But he ended up staying to fix my freezer that was leaking. Felt bad for the other appt because I thought Mark would just take a look and give me an estimate. But he ended up fixing it and had to cancel his next appt. He's very efficient, clean and friendly. I hired Woo last month to look at my ceiling fans and was so disspointed with the service. I think he is having people post positive reviews on Yelp or something because based on his reviews is why I went with him but I was over-charged and given nonsense service. First of all, he literally showed up to my place, dropped off his assitant to do all the work, and left. So what type of expertise was I paying for in the first place? Then, his assistant (whose only task was to assess the ceiling fans and give a reccomendation) took SO LONG doing somehting that would normally take 15 mins so that he could stretch it into an hour in order to charge me for a full hour. At exactly one hour, he finally left, but Woo wasnt even there to pick him up! How unprofessional is that, to have his repair assistant just hanging out in front of my house after overcharging me while Woo was out on another job? I know other Yelpers have really given this guy high rates, but my experience with him (rather his assistant) was so dissapointing. read more

Have an older home so always wary about electrical issues. I had a couple outlets that were burning up the plugs to small appliances . Woo's informed me they were booked for the next 2 weeks but made an appointment and suddenly received call the next day that they finished a job early in the area and would they like me to have them stop by ? I did and they checked everything out, fixed a breaker and charged me a minimal fee which was very reasonable. They were nice and reassuring and not "talking down" to this senior citizen.
