We had heard great reviews about 4X4 and had them install our new (owner supplied) electric step sides on our Rivian. Henrik and his staff were as good as there is. They realized that our steps had the wrong software and on their own contacted the store that is 2 hours away in Santa Ana. They contacted me and then sent a courier employee to drive our car to that store and get the correct part installed. It took over 5 hours to get it done. From the phone call I came to the time I came in the customer service was amazing and felt I have been part of the World Famous 4x4 family for ever. Took my Chevy Silverado 1500 for some service, I was in and out with all the issues addressed and what was not it was don't so I don't go time away from my truck until the parts come in and not just sit on the lot for days. I highly recommend this place and wouldn't go any where else, any off road or kits this is the place, don't look further. I highly recommend Henrik and the crew at World Famous 4x4 for all your overlanding needs. I brought my JDM 1996 Mitsubishi JB470 RV into the shop when the 4x4 gave out on a ski trip this past spring. Since buying the RV I've had a hard time finding a reliable, responsive, and straight to the point outfit in Los Angeles. When the 4x4 gave out I called around to various shops in LA who declined to even attempt a diagnosis. I was considering driving it all the way up to the Pacific Northwest to the Delica gurus, then I stumbled onto an article on thedrive.com from a JDM Hiace owner raving about their experience with World Famous 4x4. I immediately called Henrik and told him the situation. Without hesitation he told me he could fix it, no matter the cause. So I brought it in, and he was right. What initially seemed like a simple repair to an actuator became more complicated and required digging into the transfer case. World Famous sourced identical parts from a 90's Montero in Canada and got the 4x4 back online as promised and at a very reasonable price. They also helped me with a few other issues I was having. I picked up the RV and took her straight to the mountains (see pics) where the 4x4 took me deep into BLM land for a weekend away skiing. If you're looking for a no BS, friendly, transparent crew, look no further than World Famous 4x4. I've done all the research for you - you won't find a crew like this in Los Angeles, particularly if you're a JDM van owner. I'm new to the 4x4 Jeep world. I've always wanted a beefy Wrangler but always thought I had to do a lift kit, springs, shocks etc to get the look I want. I walked into Hendrick's shop randomly while running errands in Burbank and was prepared to get the $10-15k upsell. Hendrick took the time to ask me what I want and what I plan to do with it. After a few minutes, he suggested new shocks and tires is all I would need. No upsell, no selling of fancy lift kits. With the setup that they gave me, I would always have room to add on with the existing work they already did. When it was done, I was very happy. Both by the new look of my JL and my wallet. Called around to several shops all around the Northern Los Angeles area to have a CMC on my Tacoma. Several others were either too busy or wanted to charge a ridiculous amount for the job. He gave me a reasonable quote, could take me in less than a week, and even made a point to get me in and out in a day. Figured I would book and and see how that all went. Needless to say my expectations were far exceeded. Dropped off my truck first thing in the morning, just hung around the area for a bit. The shop worked on my truck and got it in and out same day for my CMC. The price was the best in the valley for the work quality and professional service rendered. None of those cheap kits you buy with thin metal. The guys here used a solid piece and welded it like a champ, if you didn't know what it looked like before you'd never no the frame was modified. I can not recommend this shop highly enough, ensuring that my truck was looked after as if it was their own. I'm almost sad I'm moving away.
