I shop here quite frequently and would consider this one of my favorite stores. The furniture and decor is so stylish, great quality and actually affordable! I've always been impressed with the staff as well. Recently I came in and REALLY wanted this marble table I had seen online. It wasn't available in the store, so Summer helped me order it online. She called to notify me as soon as it had arrived. After we took it home and opened it, we realized there was a HUGE crack right down the center. We were really bummed and we called the store to let them know we'd be bringing it back in. Summer gave me several replacement option. I ended up deciding to take the floor model (that was in great shape). This whole experience could have been a nightmare. Best place to get imported foodstuffs like british chocolates and cookies, great mediterranean lights, industrial furniture and christmas ornaments. Lots of stuff to look at, plenty of trinkets all at reasonable prices. Always good to check in once a month and stock up on junk food! Would I shop here for my weekly groceries? No. But, this place is AWESOME. My boyfriend and I were on a kick to try international foods. So we bought up the store a few months back. We primarily bought international junk food or cool looking items that we have not seen before to try. 3-4 months later, we STILL have a TON of food left. Probably because we don't eat a lot of junk food, but it's fun to sample it or so. Plus they have a lot of really cool things in here. We bought a little egg boiler helper that you cook with the eggs to figure out when the eggs are ready. Works perfectly. We'll be back next time we want to sample different foods. read more

At first I was shocked that we even had a Cost Plus around these parts.. But once I got over the initial surprise, I realized this place was great for those random exploration adventures - you really could spend hours perusing the different aisles. I always buy the Apple/Lychee Sake or the dessert wines from here -- my favorite aisles! Haha But I do adore the candy & snacks sections! They have great little candies you wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. Although they do seem a bit pricier, you gotta realize its because they like to sell items that are "rarer". You get what you pay for, the quality is really excellent. Also keep an eye out, they often have random little sales every now and then. read more

Christmas shopping with Chelsea !! This place rocks. You feel like you are somewhere else buying stuff that's from wherever you are!! Except everything cost WAY more! When we were in Hong Kong you could buy stuff all day long for a few hong kong dollars. Not here. All the cheap stuff from there is EXPENSIVE here. But the point is, you can still get it without spending a ton of money on a plane ticket. Though we got ours fairly cheap too. The colorful stuff alone is a good enough reason to shop here. Even if you only buy a few things (or maybe even a present for yourself, because who wants to spend this much money on something you aren't sure they'll like??) it's worth the field trip inside. Long lines, but i asked if a manager could honor since I just got text this morning.. whoever they sent said she was the beverage girl?? And fought with me. I wasnt trying to make any trouble. I was really polite, but what she was asking me to do didnt make sense... come back with it later.. i said, its not coming up on app, how? I have always loved and shopped at Cost Plus wherever I have lived. I was a bit disappointed with this location however. The sales people rarely say hi or greet you. Half the time I have to go up and down every single aisle to find someone available if I have a question. If I want to purchase something I wait in line or at the counter, only to discover that no one is at the register. Even if someone is at the register, they are usually chit chatting with another associate, and I still don't even get as much as a Hi. I've worked retail, customer service and management...it seems like this store has no one to hold the associates accountable to even be friendly to people spending money. I love the product but this location seems to be lacking in customer service. read more

Why is a kookoo chanel chain company like Cost Plus getting 5 stars you ask? Well, so do I....but there is something magical about this place which I just cannot describe. It has me mesmerized. It plays to every single one of my loves: eclectic, eclectic, and eclectic. Interior design, cookery, handicrafts and textiles, wine, beer, specialty foods AND giraffes? Be still my debit card. I have been visiting just outside of town for 2 months, and I have been in here at least 5 times...inexplicably wandering the aisles...dreaming up some scheme to import an entire one of their stores to NYC. Today, I actually made a purchase, and when none of the items I want had a pricetag, one of the clerks made a special effort to go in back and research the price -instead of the usual 'sorryeverythingwehaveisout/nopricenosale'. -Not to mention it was MUCH cheaper than what I had seen for comparable products elsewhere. I was so pleased that I even signed up for the rewards program -knowing that I live nowhere near one of their stores. I just want to keep in touch. When I finished my brilliant-find mission, the handsome young man at the register encouraged me to come back soon. Not to worry, I will be...probably before the week is out. read more

Final thoughts: They dealt with me all day and the 2nd shift was better staffed, had more veteran associates, and tip top customer service. From the set, I constructed the bench first and decided to return all the chairs since the bench had the casual and chic look with the end chairs that I had bought from another store. The table is beautiful despite the "new characteristics" and fits amazingly, given its design. All together, the price was nice at about $800 for 2 benches and a solid wood dining table. I also received an additional discount for the damage done to my table on top of this weekend's 25% off sale for some additional shopping. Management became familiar with me by the end of the day yet still exemplified perfect customer service. Word of advice: HIRE MORE MALE STAFF FOR YOUR FURNITURE SALES. Below was the 1-star review that I wrote earlier today: Spent close to $1000 on a dining set at this store. Had to wait over 2 weeks for the chairs and bench to come in. I rented a truck to pick it up. The box with the table in it was torn open. The 2 associates that were designated to "help" us load it into the truck, dragged the open box along the warehouse floor and over 10 feet of asphalt, damaging and scraping the finish off one of the corners of my table. On top of that, when I got home, 2 legs for the dining table were missing. This location has craptastic lack of staff and corporate support, i only saw 3 staff members working today on probably the busiest i've seen the store. Now I have to haul ass back to the store to pick up the remaining legs. When i'm in there, it's going to take every last ounce of will power not to throw some elbows!! read more

I love being a part of their membership and getting some good deals on some great wines. They have a great selection, a lot of award winners, for great prices. I don't want to go into it too much because my review is on the store and not their wines. But I do love their selection. MUCH better than BevMo in my honest opinion. Its a great store to get lost in and just browse. I love their jewelry, the different world styles, and their accessories are super cute, bohemian chic. The employees are also very friendly here and have been very helpful. One time my daughter even broke an earring here which I brought up to pay for since she broke it, but the employee didn't hold me to it saying don't worry, that they could fix it. I insisted anyway since MY kid was the terror and I hate it when parents don't take responsibility for their kids. But it was still nice that I was offered that. :) read more

I do a lot of grocery shopping at the store next to World Market, and I can't resist popping in on my way back to my car to see what else is new. It's a good yet bad habit, haha. ;) The staff are cheerful and helpful, welcoming you in immediately when you enter. Shirley in particular has been more than helpful on several occasions, walking me to the products I'm looking for, making sure I have the coupon I need, and even helping me navigate my Explorer points on my phone! This location is pretty poorly managed in terms of customer service. There are no clear lines marked at the registers and if a second register opens up the people at the end of the line are served first. It feels like they don't respect their customers. The manager that I've interacted with seems nice but has no sense of urgency and doesn't care about the "above and beyond" work ethic. I have somewhat high standards because I worked at the Huntington Beach World Market and customer service was the top priority to the point were we did have to go "above and beyond". I thought that was all how the stores were but unfortunately those standards only seem to apply to areas that have very high income. read more

This location is fairly large. Nice selection of everything. Good location. "Aisles" were a bit crowded. Staff was distracted chatting. Only one girl helped me. I stood at the register while 2 employees stood there talking, waiting to be helped for at least 3-4 minutes, before that same girl walked up and asked if I needed to check out. About 3 or 4 months ago I was in this World Market just to look around. A very helpful employee named Shirley asked me if I needed any help - I didn't but she also asked if I knew about their rewards program. I had been a member for years but never knew how to use the benefits, she explained it to me very well and helped me get text messages from World Market about my rewards - I even had a $10 reward already that I didn't even know about! This is the best place ever to buy stocking stuffers and cool kitchen gadgets. It's easy to get loose track of time browsing around the isles here. The time it takes to check out here is slightly irritating but I do only come around Christmas, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

World Market is the greatest store that exists in the world today. I only wish they'd drop the "Cost Plus" part, as it seems to devalue the name. I go here as often as I can for glass and kitchenware. I can get lost exploring the countless aisles of global treats... They also sell incense, so if you're into Nag Champa, they have a huge selection. The staff is comprised of an arty-conversationalist bunch--which is a huge plus. This store used to be one of my favorite stops to find unique items. I went in yesterday and was shocked. The aisles are like mazes and there was trash all over the floor. You really have to try not to hit something and knock it on the floor. The store had inventory scattered all over the place. I asked one of the employees why the store looked so disorganized and she looked at me like I was insane. She explained that they have too much inventory and have no place to put it and that's why it's all over the place. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that there was trash on floor throughout the store and several shelves covered with dust. read more
