Hands-on and incredibly hardworking, Jeff S. ensures everything is done right. He drives solo (unless you count his adorable dog) and hires a high-quality local crew--paying them well to get the best. Loading takes skill and effort, especially with a 33,000-pound load, including a 120-year-old grand piano. I didn't think all our belongings would fit, but Jeff S. not only made it work in his 53-foot truck, he even had extra space for two additional small loads! He packed the van masterfully--floor to ceiling--with hardly an inch of wasted space. Nearly nothing was damaged. He used many hundreds of high quality furniture pads. Beyond his work ethic, Jeff S. is highly skilled in loading and driving. He navigated our 1/2 mile unpaved driveway and backed right up to our front door and set up ramps directly into the house, making unloading much easier. While the unloading crew wasn't as skilled as the loaders, Jeff stepped in, directing and assisting them to ensure a smooth process. Everyone provided excellent service-- from the estimator (Tom) to the office people (Maria and Bill) and the packing crew (5 guys) to the driver, Jeff, who owns the local franchise. The office team accommodated our changing moving date and even the delivery time on very short notice. All employees were extremely courteous and made us feel we were their most important clients--always saying they would make it work, whatever we needed. Where do I start? I had previously used other large moving companies and had never experienced the mess that I have with this company. I have damaged furniture to which I am still waiting for them to fix or replace. I have very expensive furniture pieces. I have been very patient with them. Barbara, who I have been speaking with has repeatedly said to me "I can't approve the estimate I'm not the owner." Or she will also say Jeff is in NY, Jeff is in Chicago let me talk to him. I recently moved from CA to TX with Jeff Sullivan and his crew, and I'm beyond impressed! Unlike other companies, Jeff personally came to my home in CA to give me an accurate estimate. Other movers provided higher quotes without the same attention to detail and left out important items. Jeff made sure to include proper wrapping for all my fragile and heavy items, something other companies overlooked--I'm sure they would've tacked on extra charges on moving day. With Jeff, everything was covered in the quote, and there were no surprise fees. On moving day, Jeff showed up with a crew of five guys who worked tirelessly, moving my stuff down several flights of stairs with tight corners. They were respectful, careful, and just a great team. When my items got to TX, Jeff had a different crew of two guys unload my things. They were just as courteous, laid down floor pads, and assembled furniture with care. Now that I've unpacked, I'm thrilled to report that not a single item was damaged--everything arrived in perfect condition. My husband and I thoroughly researched Movers and we thought we found the best one. WRONG!! We never thought the movers would separate ALL THE POWER CORDS and CABLES ,etc, from the TV, Stereos, Speakers, Printer, Fax Machine, etc. and we still can't find them!! What were they thinking!! NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THEM OR USE THEM AGAIN!! Also, we asked them to put the boxes in the appropriate rooms since ALL the boxes were CLEARLY LABELED and the put them all in wrong rooms! I called around to get quotes from some of the advertised movers on FB and direct mail, then I started calling "legacy"companies. Several were busy on my dates, or extremely priced, and then Mayflower returned my call and did a video walk through. The quote came in a couple days later and it was close enough to my "self move" estimates and I contracted with them. I was VERY pleased with the crew, the equipment, and particularly with Jeff, who happens to be the owner. We were moving from a hill top so they needed to load a small truck and drive it down the drive, to the bigger semi moving van. The crew was fabulous, they did not stand around and gab, they were moving at doubletime the whole day, moving the boxes we had packed, and the larger pieces of furniture, always being respectful of the contents and the property. Jeff drove the van from cost to coast and arrived 12 hours early. He called a couple times from the road to check in on our progress at the new house, and we were ready for him the next morning. The off load went smoothly, smaller house so a lot is still unopened, but so far nothing of note damaged. You cannot move coast to coast without a scratch or two(my prior self moves were examples). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JEFF AND HIS COMPANY for any type of move, local or long distance, he's the best. 38 years of accumulation, almost 3000 miles, and we couldn't be happier with the result. read more

I had a horrible experience. I had them move all of my furniture and boxes. I had a two story 3 bed room. When we got to the new house there were boxes with the bottom of the box that was messed up because the guy using the dolly did not know how to use it. Boxes were left outside of my house On my front patio. they unscrewed the top of my table to fit in the truck. Once they put it together they screwed it too tight that a bubble went througt to the top of the table. They shattered a piece of glass to my desk and another desk got a chip on it. I asked what they were going to do about this. The owner seemed very friendly and told me to go get estimates of similar furniture. I did and never heard back from him. read more

Fernando and Carlos did a wonderful moving job and tried their best to help organize all the boxes & totes and leave certain items we did not want moved. The job got bigger then they expected which they really should of had a third man with them and did the work with a positive attitude. The lady of the house could not find her big wind chimes and some books but after I called for them to look for them she found them way in the back of the rows of boxes under something. I am sure the box of books are hidden somewhere too. I highly recommend them for your locale move. read more

Imagine for a moment that Worldwide was was arriving on schedule to move you across the country. Your home escrow was closing in five days and you had to be out of your home. Then the two packers arrive on the first day to pack everything but one of them leaves by lunchtime because she is tired and her boss, Barbara, allows her to leave early anytime she wants. Ok, she is tired and needs to go home and I get that. But where is the replacement??? We called Barbara but there is no replacement coming that day. Instead she would send a finishing crew on day two before the truck and loaders arrived. Day two arrives and the driver/loader arrives. Shortly afterwards two packing people arrive and both parties get into an argument in front of my house as to why the other did not bring a complete crew. They kept blaming each other for the lack of adequate personnel. If they could not load our truck what would we do with a house that we hade to leave in a few days. Again we called Barbara in a panic as to why our move was at a standstill. We told her about what was happening and after paying a $25,000 moving invoice she asks, "Well what do you want me to do about it"? Well how about doing your job Barbara? The one saving saving grace is that the packers and loaders came together and recruited their own contacts to bring in a crew that could finish the move. With no help, guidance or any hint of managerial skills from Barbara we finally were packed and ready to go. Management protocols here are lacking. Correction, they are non existent. The crew however was remarkable the their tip was well earned. Mayflower is owned by UniGroup and my letter to the CEO Mark Rogers is being mailed soon. read more

These guys were exceptional! The great experience started with Orlando that did the quote. Then Jaime (the driver) and his guys were all wonderful on the loading end. They were very quick and efficient. Then Jaime came with Ernesto and Neecy on the unload end and they were the icing on the cake! They were extremely careful - one of my pieces of furniture was very challenging to get up the stairs but they managed to get it done. I highly recommend Mayflower movers based out of Oxnard. To move a TV safely without break it, it is quite a basic industrial criteria. How do you define your "premier moving"? Your customer didn't purchase the value insurance doesn't waive the obligation of your company to restore the damage caused by your employee's mishandling and negligence on customer's property. This company moved us from California to Washington recently-- 1,000 miles to be exact. The owner, Jeff, was with us on both ends of the move and organized great crews. We had a few unique pieces of furniture that needed to be disassembled and they did a fantastic job with that. Worst move ever! If I could give them a zero, I would do so. Here's the highpoints for the rating: 1) The bid I received did not include specific items to be packed for long term storage when it was supposed to as I specifically requested this during the bid process. 2) Furniture was damaged (one piece had the corner sheared off of it!). The feet on three others were also damaged mainly because the items were scooted and leaned forward on the legs vs. lifting the pieces up. 3) I was initially told the movers would be there the day before my move to pack the items they were responsible for packing (that did not happen). 4) The move initially was supposed to only take 4-5hrs; it took 9 hrs mainly because the disassembly and packing that the movers were responsible for didn't happen the day before. 5) The money received for the submitted claim was UNDER the amount to repair the furniture that was damaged by approximately $200. And the items that were supposed to be packed/crated for long term storage were "denied" in the claim. 6) The repair company I was referred to by Mayflower never returned my phone call or text. I was then left to find a repair company on my own. Contacted Ethan Allen and used one of the companies they recommended who I am rather certain was leaps and bounds better than who I was referred to by Mayflower. I would not allow Mayflower (or United Van Lines, their sister company) to move a dog house let alone ever move me again. read more

We recently hired Worldwide Moving (through Mayflower) for our move from Santa Barbara, CA to Bellevue, WA. This is hands-down the best moving company I've worked with. Jeff, the new owner is communicative, punctual, and made sure everything was smooth. Note: The newer reviews are the most accurate as the company is under new and better management. 1. The estimate: Tom came over immediately to schedule an in-home estimate and walk through. Super fast, super easy. The estimate stayed true for the entire move and there were no hidden fees or charges. 2. The loading crew: Doug, Chris, and Victor came over on time for the day of the move. Stand up guys, good sense of humor, and great work ethic. We had a toddler running around and were perfectly comfortable as they disassembled our furniture and wrapped up/packed everything with care. 3. The delivery: Before choosing a moving company, I've read a lot of nightmares about deliveries being delayed, or your things being held hostage for higher prices. This absolutely did not happen with Jeff's team. As with any move, we wanted to minimize the amount of time that we'd be without our furniture and belongings. From their dispatch coordinator, to their pickup team... They communicated with us every step of the way and made sure that we were available and comfortable with the timing for delivery. Delivery was smooth, and helped us move everything to the correct room (even when we changed our mind a few times), assembled all our furniture, and even asked us to inspect that everything was put together the right way. These guys are fast! No broken items! Honestly, I'm amazed. WWMS came to my house on a Sunday and moved my entire 4 bed 2 bath house between 8 AM and 2:30 PM. We had an in town move, just a half mile away. 5 guys 2 trucks, one of them was a big rig. These guys aren't playing around, and I can tell they enjoy their work. I feel very well taken care of. I'm an IT guy and I have 3 large heavy server racks. I moved the small computers myself, I packed many but not all of the items. They came in about half their bid. I prepared, I communicated and I had a good experience. I say if the others leaving negative reviews were as prepared and communicated like I did they would also have a great experience. read more

Fantastic service; handling our belongings as if they were their own. We hired Worldwide (Mayflower) to pack and move our belongings from Oxnard, CA to Mesa, AZ. The day before the move, the crew chief called and confirmed all information. At our origin, the crew arrived 5 minutes early, and set up outside. Louie Barr was the lead mover/Operator, coordinating all aspects of the move at both locations. His #2, David (sorry I don't know his last name) was fantastic. Both communicated to us frequently during the pack, and the next day move. Runners and corner protection was placed throughout both homes. All crew was courteous, friendly and carred for our possessions. At the destination, Louie and David called the day before delivery and confirmed relivent information. They arrived on time, and carefully put items where they should be (they even moved some things around after we changed decision on location. None of the crew ever complained or gave the impression they were not happy. They all had smiles. THANK YOU to the entire crews at both locations, and especially Louie and David for providing continuity and leadership at both ends. Louie Barr is the best Crew Chief I have dealt with. I hired Mayflower World Wide Moving & Storage, Oxnard, CA in November 2021 to pack up our entire home, to pack up our storage bins and to store our entire contents at the warehouse in Oxnard. The salesman Thomas Bunker sold me because of the super secure storage facility - in fact it was so secure because the local military Seabee base families used their storage services. The owner Jeff, decided to not store our entire homes contents in their secure facility but to store it in their YARD in an old truck trailer. Folks this old truck trailer was so old it LEAKED when it rained. We had heavy rains in November & December 2021 and then all of our goods sat wet and stayed in that old metal container until we called for our move in April 2022. Jeff the owner new the boxes were moldy and ruined because they had to transfer them from the old outside rusting container to his big Mayflower truck. Jeff didn't call us to tell us what happened at that point. Instead he chose to cover it up. When our property finally got to our new home in Nevada, the local moving guys hid the mold covered boxes at the bottom of their stacks and then put them into the corners of the house and outside. Some of the boxes like expensive hanging clothing boxes were so wet and damp and moldy, my clothing was carried off the moving truck by the moving guys. This is a long review, but really Jeff did not take care of our property as he was trusted to do. He decided to lie and try to hide it, when he clearly knew. He oversaw the packing and unpacking of the truck with of our complicated move, but he made critical bad decisions. First mistake and lie: putting our household into a non-secure storage container outside in their yard. It was not secure from thieves or obviously from rain. If they didn't have room in their facility, they should have been honest. That's called bait and switch... or simply the act of fraud. Now we are having to have dry cleaners that tried unsuccessfully to remove the mold out of soft goods like bedding. Upholstery items like furniture and pillows have mold spots. Ruined antique furniture is being rebuilt and faux finished. 6 months later and my furniture is still being repaired from the water damage. PLEASE don't use this company. They made our move a nightmare and I am still trying to clean up Jeff's mess.
