Nah... I am not sure what the hype is about. I can't taste the freshness of the poke. There's some after taste when I finished eating the fish. Rice is hard to chew. Poke chunks are so small that you don't know what you're eating. I eat tons do seafood so I know when seafood is fresh or not. I wouldn't go back again. It's pricey too. Hidden little gem in a business district, but close enough to the main road for easy accessibility. The fish here is much better than a lot of sushi places, & the sauce was ADDICTINGLY GOOD. There is practically no seating here so this is not the place to be if you have a large group of people. There is a small amount of outside seating though. Now, the food itself is delicious. The place is very small so things can get tight and crowded during rush hour. They use new gloves for every bowl that they make; which is a plus for me because I am allergic to shrimp. Ok, perhaps I was a bit harsh with my original review. Either that, or I was REALLY REALLY hungry. Since then, I have returned many times. I've finally found my groove and discovered the perfect formula for my bowl. The staff is very friendly and quick. The food is fresh and the scoops don't seem to be as tiny as I first remembered. Either that, or they have been upgraded to slightly larger scoops, or I seriously need to have my vision checked. Nevertheless, the food is fresh, consistent and very yummy. This place has arguably the most flavorful poke bowls in OC, however, there are some small drawbacks. There is virtually no indoor seating, but a decently sized patio. The seating on the patio is a hodge podge of mismatched patio furniture that looks like it was collected from random back alleys. The seating is very uncomfortable. The patio also backs up against a cement wall opposite of a dumpster for the industrial park that this eatery is located. Also, the matriarch that works as the cashier has an ice cold personality. She will consistenly not respond to "thank you" and looks utterly miserable working there. They have a really simple menu with steps that guide you through ordering. I got a bowl with white rice, all salmon, avo, onions, crab meat, cucumbers, no spice sauce, and masago. This is a really simple poke place sauce wise and the sauce, in my opinion, isn't anything special. The salmon tasted decently good but wasn't the best. What I really liked was their rice. This place totally satisfied my poke craving. It's a true hole in the wall in a small business park over off Bake. They are so fast and the service is really nice. I ordered the poke nachos once and they waited for me to get there so the chips didn't get soggy but I still got my order right away since I ordered online. I cannot get enough of this place. I probably go in once a week at least. The poke bowls are so good. I only get the mild sauce because I can't handle anything spicy. I swear the sauce makes it. The regular sized bowl is the perfect amount. The only complaint I would have is that the last two times I've gone they have been out of a main ingredient (the first time being rice and the second time tuna - which is my fish of choice). Hands down the best poke place I've had in Southern California. Its a little shop tucked into a business plaza where you would least expect it but man is this place good. The fish is extremely fresh and all the toppings are actually included without add-on costs. A regular bowl costs only $8 as well and it is definitely a good size bowl that will fill you up.
