Got a spicy crunch roll to go. I asked for light on the sauce and light on the crunchy, and that preference was honored. inside was a good content ratio of rice and the mixture of shrimp, cucumber, egg, imitation crab meat. Overall, taste was pretty satisfactory, and I enjoyed every bite of the sushi roll. The price is pretty satisfactory as well as it was about $10. They have a special menu for discounted items when you walk in, so don't just rely on the menu outside the door. I was between two items, and the front desk person immediately recommended this one, lol.

My friend and I stopped by Wow Sushi for dinner this past Thursday since it was a convenient location for both of us. I haven't been to Wow Sushi in over a decade (!!) but I'm glad I was able to try it again. I do think the salmon quality here is better than most sushi restaurants in this area and would recommend this sushi spot. One thing I didn't like was how pungent or strong the soy sauce was. I would barely dip my sushi in the soy sauce and the whole bite would be too much. YELLOWTAIL SCALLION ROLL - 5.50 This comes with six pieces of yellowtail & scallion maki - a true staple. The yellowtail was fresh and it's a typical yellowtail & scallion roll. The pricing is cheaper compared to other restaurants, so I'd definitely recommend. SUSHI SASHIMI BOX - 17.95 This comes with a miso soup, a spicy tuna roll (I subbed it for a salmon roll), Wow salad, four nigiris and a variety of sashimi. For the amount of food I got, this was pretty worth it. The miso soup was passable but nothing worth remembering -- good appetizer, I guess. The salmon maki was good because the salmon was fresh and had an ample amount of fat that made each bite worth smiling about. The Wow salad had a nice sauce, but similar to the soy sauce, it was too strong and too much. I couldn't finish my entire salad because it was way too saucy. The nigiris were fine, and I particularly enjoyed the salmon and red snapper. I wasn't a huge fan of the tuna or shrimp here. Similarly to the sashimi, I really enjoyed the salmon cuts, red snapper and squid, but the others, not too much. Some hits and misses, but I'll know for next time. The service was fast, and we got our food pretty quickly after we ordered.

Have never dined in so can't comment on service, but takeout is always great and they are pretty accurate on pickup times. My favorites from here are the Spicy Tuna, Sexy Roll, Chris Roll, and the seaweed salad. They have monthly specials as well where they offer 25% off certain rolls and dishes, so ask about those.

WOW! Wow Sushi is a hidden gem of Troy. Their menu has a ton of options and has images of every roll they sell! The sushi rolls were fresh and tasty! The meal came with a free small cucumber appetizer as well.

Located in a strip center right next to Orange Theory Fitness, Wow Sushi is a great little find. While searching for sushi near me I found this place after searching online for another sushi bar seeing as the restaurant I normally go to was closed today. This cozy little spot has just enough seating, plenty of outdoor parking, and friendly staff. The interior of the space is calm and relaxing with yellow walls and pictures of sushi posted all throughout the space. I ordered the California Roll and a side of Edamame. Both came out at a reasonable time and taste great! I asked for Gluten-Free soy sauce and they brought that out too! Overall, I liked the food, service, and atmosphere. I'll be back!

Wow Sushi has been in business for many years. It's located in a shopping plaza on a busy Rochester Road. I always come here for lunch. They have a good lunch box with sushi and tempura. They also have a good selection of sushi rolls. My favorite is squid roll. California roll is rolled with squid around it then they deep fry the whole thing. The squid is very tender and really tastes well being deep fried. I typically ask eel sauce to be on the side. read more

I love this sushi restaurant! It is small friendly place where they make you fresh good quality sushi quickly. Prices are as at most places. Staff is friendly and you are served in a timely manner. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures because we ate everything so quickly. :) just kidding, I just forgot. My 7 year old loves cucumber sushi ( I know, right), and he enjoyed it. read more

Hey, what a find! So happy to have found another great sushi place near Somerset for my mom and I to visit when we go on one of our great mall expeditions together! Found this one thanks to the trusty Yelp app and since it was vetted by all you fabulous yelpers we decided to give it a go. Good call! The sushi is tasty and fresh and I like the price points. We definitely ordered with our eyes rather than our stomachs and ended up with WAY too much food but I didn't care. We started with the spicy tuna salad which came with avocado and some cukes and it was really tasty. Quite spicy for my tender palate but I approve. We also split a number of rolls including 3 special rolls which were huge. I apologize that I didn't write the name of them down so I can't recall which they were but two of them had tempura shrimp inside and they were great. So yes, an FYI to be very careful when you order here because the pricier special rolls are massive and more than enough for one person (let alone splitting 3 with two smaller rolls to boot)! Our server was on point. He was the only waiter in the place and was running around like a mad person but he was fantastic. I felt bad that he was so hurried but he took it all in stride. I was starving (which certainly exacerbates the feeling that you've been waiting forever) and never felt like anything came out unreasonably late. If anything I was surprised just how snappy the service was given the circumstances. The folks at the table next to us even complimented the waiter on how on top of everything he was given his solo status. Well done. Although I hope he doesn't have to do that every night! Yes, I certainly was wowed by Wow sushi and I can see myself returning again real soon! read more

I've been coming here since 2008-ish and it's one of my favorite spots after a long stressful day. The flavor of their sushi rice is delicious and that's extremely important for me. It's always made really well here. The staff here are really nice. Sometimes they'll surprise you with some nicely cut orange slices at the end of your meal. On the rare occasion, it'll be mochi ice cream. Their small udon and roll set is the best. :D read more

We know that Noble is the king of the area, however we have come to love this place for the staff and the food. The staff, always polite, efficient and friendly but as we go to know some of theme we found that they would look forward to seeing us. I know that sounds silly but the more we asked about them personally the more stories, menu advise and kindness we got. We came in one time and the server brought in her own tea for us to try. Really great people. The food - They have quite a variety and we tend to go with the same things over and over. Tempura shrimp, which might be some of the best we have eaten. Crab soup for two, although it is imitation crab I enjoy texture and flavor of the soup. Sashimi, sushi rolls, and our big ending - tempura bananas. They are so freaking good that I'd be happy to com in just for these. Maybe this year we will venture out and try other things but we will definitely come often again this year. read more

This is one of the places where they have great food. My friend recommend it and I was totally pleased for everything we ordered. The salad was so fresh and you definitely can taste the ginger of the dressing. And the sushi has a perfect size and the flavor is also unique. Definitely will come back again. My favorite sushi place! I always recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried it. There are options for everyone whether you want more americanized sushi or some basic good sashimi. The sushi is fresh and with so many options for a good value it's amazing. There's usually not a very long wait but it's a smaller place. I've been going here for over 8 years and haven't found a sushi place in the rochester-Troy area that I like more! There's always some new roll or dish to try. read more

****FOOD ALLERGY BEWARE***** I have ordered sushi from this location many times and have ordered sushi from other Sushi restaurants many times. I have ordered yum-yum rolls or rolls with yum-yum sauce in the past and never had any issue. There is no food allergy warning anywhere, but this yum-yum sauce definitely had peanut in it. I called Wow Sushi to let them know, and they weren't even apologetic. 1 Epi-Pen later, I am livid that there is no notice or warning anywhere. I'm also confused as to why I've had this type of roll multiple times without any issue though I have a peanut allergy my entire life. I'm disgusted by their response. I threw my order in the trash and won't be back. I can't trust them anymore to keep a clean environment without cross-contamination. read more

Well where do I start off? My wife and I are regular customers every week. I never had a bad experience until today. When I say I had a bad experience today, I mean horrible not bad. My wife just placed an order for take out and I went to pick it up. The staff messed up and gave another customer our order. No big deal. This happens and I'm a reasonable person. As I'm waiting in line, the customers that went home with our order walked back in. She had the same first name as my wife so it's an understandable mistake. What's not understandable is that they tried to give me the order that someone else took out of the restaurant. The cashier asked the customer did they open the boxes, and the lady blatantly said "yes we opened all of them when we were home." He went into the back with my boxes and came right back out. I asked "are these the same boxes?" His reply, "Yes they were not open." The lady literally said in front of both of us she opened this. This was a violation of the health code BEFORE COVID. After complaining to them that I would not accept that they made another order that took another 20 minutes. I wasn't offered a refund or anything. They forgot the Spicy Mayo (we ordered extra and were charged for it), soy sauce, and the soup was cold . I called to complain and they offered to give us $1 off next time we go back... there won't be a next time thanks for the insult. As I told him no thanks on the $1 refund and we would not be back he then said "ok fine we can offer $20 back." No thanks again. I will be reporting this to the health/food department to protect everyone as this is not safe. There are high amount of COVID cases in Michigan. This type of practice is a violation of so many laws it's not even funny. You are endangering society. We will not be back. STAY AWAY! read more

After seeing a friend's picture of wow sushi on Facebook, I knew I wanted to try out this restaurant. They have two menus available; one for sushi rolls and one for entrees. Small restaurant located in a strip mall. Sushi is very fresh. Disappointed in my last visit when my order never arrived and when I was able to flag down my server she apologized and forgot. She offered to place the order however the rest of my party was already finished eating. I will definitely be back everyone makes mistakes and as I said the sushi was very fresh the previous times I've been here. The cucumber salad is a nice surprise of flavors. read more

We came here for my Birthday dinner after a Yelp event at Oakland Mall. We started off with a basic cucumber salad and miso soup. The rolls I had were the American Dream and Rock N Roll. Both were good, and I'd recommend them. I received a free slice of fried cheesecake since it was my birthday. Sweet! It was delicious. I need another slice of that. Also, the waitress was very friendly. A+ for that. Overall, I'm glad I tried Wow Sushi. It's on par with other sushi restaurants. read more

Fantastic sushi, terrific service, cozy atmosphere. We came here for lunch and decided on a lunch combo and an additional roll. The lunch roll combos are a great value with miso soup and marinated cucumbers included. For our rolls we ordered the Spicy Roll Combo. This included the spicy special California roll, calamari tempura roll and the rock n roll. All were very delicious we liked the spicy special California roll the best out of the combo rolls. We also ordered the shrimp tempura roll, this was also a favorite and came in at a close second. The miso soup and marinated cucumbers that were included were also delicious. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and a drink ordered closely followed. All the servers seemed to be working as a team. Our order was taken promptly by another server, food brought out really fast by another and others checked on us while we ate. We were totally fine with it as it proved to be extremely efficient. Great food and experience guys, we'll be back for sure! read more

Awesome place for sushi! Service was fantastic and they checked in on us throughout our meal and refilling our water cups. We were served edamame on the house after we were seated. We ordered several different rolls including Lady Dragon, Wow, and Dynasty rolls. All of them were a well crafted and delicious combination of seafood, and rolled together well. Will be back to try several of their other rolls and items! read more

Was passing through the area looking for something tasty, quiet, and laptop friendly. This fit the bill. I ordered Smoky Salmon sushi roll and Sweet Potato Tempura roll. They were both great but the sweet potato roll was wow. Crunchy and sweet. Miso soup and hot tea were good. Great flavor all around. I appreciated the cute hanging privacy screens between the tables. read more

The miso soup came out first and was pretty standard. The Tako Su had large slices of octopus with plenty of cucumbers. It was decent, nothing standout. The gyoza was actually an accidental order because I thought I had ordered shumai. Looking back, I probably should've realized something was off when the server asked if I wanted them steamed or grilled. Ironically, they ended up being one of the better items. I took them home and even cold later on, they were still good. The sashimi appetizer had a nice variety and was probably one of the stronger dishes of the night. Unfortunately, the shumai completely missed the mark. It was very wet -- you can even see it in the photo -- and just not how shumai is supposed to be prepared. Personally, I think Asahi Sushi does this dish far better, including the sauce. The beef bibimbap was also disappointing for me. I love bibimbap served in a scorching hot stone bowl where the rice crisps up and caramelizes at the bottom. This lacked all of that. In my opinion, both Asahi Sushi and Sumo Sushi do bibimbap significantly better. If that's what you're craving, this wouldn't be my recommendation. As for the sushi rolls -- the S n T and White Tiger Roll -- they were just bland. Not terrible, not inedible, but very forgettable. Overall, my experience was okay, but nothing about it stood out enough to make me want to return. The servers were pleasant, but there were no recommendations or guidance offered, and the food never really moved beyond average. I ended up giving this place 2 stars for three main reasons: 1. The servers lacked recommendations or menu guidance. 2. The food overall was bland. 3. There are significantly better sushi options nearby. If you're looking for exceptional sushi, udon, and bibimbap, I'd personally recommend Asahi Sushi instead. It's only about 12 minutes away and, in my opinion, absolutely worth the drive for the quality, presentation, service, and overall experience.
