We used Wrench because the car was in a difficult-to-access garage and not easy to tow. The appointment was rescheduled multiple times, and during the visit, and after 2 hours, the technician said they couldn't complete a full diagnostic, citing wireless issues, which I helped resolve (even though I can't understand why anyone would lean on a system in a parking lot that required wifi) and then claiming Bluetooth wasn't working because of the interference in the parking garage - something that didn't make sense. After the visit, the car had new issues that weren't present before, including loss of power steering, an airbag warning, and it no longer attempts to start. I ultimately had the vehicle towed to a mechanic shop, where they found the issue was simply a failing battery - something that could have been checked upfront and would have saved significant time, effort, and cost. Instead, I was quoted nearly $2,000 in repairs. The diagnostic was not cheap, at $160, and was absolutely not worth it. I shared this feedback directly with Wrench but never received a response. I also called, and the call was disconnected while I was explaining the situation. That lack of follow-up is why I'm leaving this review. I don't believe the technician acted inappropriately, but the diagnostic was costly and incorrect. It said that the battery was in good condition. I hired Lemon Squad, owned by Wrench Inc, for a pre-purchase safety inspection on a BMW on October 2025, relying on them to ensure the car was safe. Their inspection was grossly negligent and cost me over $6,300 in repairs. Missed Safety Hazard: The inspector missed a missing lug nut on a rear wheel. The most shocking part? You can clearly see the missing lug nut in the photo the inspector took himself. He photographed a safety defect and still marked the wheels as 'Safe.' False Report: They marked the Heater/HVAC as 'Working' even though it blows completely cold air. They also marked the headlights as 'free of cracks' when the passenger side had visible crazing (structural micro-cracking) that requires a $3,200 replacement. Admission of Guilt: When I confronted them, they admitted in writing that there were 'significant discrepancies' and the report was 'incomplete.' Despite admitting they failed to do their job, they refused to cover the damages, hiding behind their Terms of Service. They only recommended that I needed coolant, which we put in the vehicle and then he said that it is no longer making the grinding noises. When I turned the vehicle on the next day and tried to take it to Jiffy Lube as a double check... it was still making grinding noises. I walked to an automotive store and bought more coolant. Still making noises. I know from a previous diagnostic that this mechanic should have recommended break pad replacement. Your customer service team sees this in their records. This mechanic should have also recommended the break light replacement service. I did this on my own after going to the automotive store. Since there are further issues that the mechanic did not identify, I Googled and educated myself for how to get the vehicle into engineering test mode. This identified that the vehicle is in need of an oil change and the emission system light is on. These are things that should have been in the diagnostic report. Last Saturday I contacted your customer service team to inform them of the misdiagnosis. They agreed that the items outlined should have been in the report and the mechanic should have recommended further services. I requested that your team redo the diagnostic. I will pay for a second opinion! If there are further issues discovered, the previous $160 cost becomes credit on my account. This should not be a big deal for your team to execute. And it is a small dollar request that lets you keep the cash and get MORE cash for additional services that the mechanic should recommend. Why is this taking almost a week now to solve with me calling every day and your service team continuing to tell me you'll get back to me in 24hrs? I had to say something about it. The mechanic showed up without the pump and asked me to schedule another appointment - they charged for the diagnostic. I'd give a star to the mechanic who was sympathetic and suggested doing a transmission fluid filter service because they could just change the filter as part of the job. After the FORTH time this company did not show up for the scheduled appointment time, I felt like I had to say something. An appointment was initially scheduled for 12/24/2024 to install a new door lock mechanism in mt husband's truck door. We ordered the part ourselves and were assured that this was something that they could do. When the mechanic did not show up, my husband contacted them and was told the mechanic was sick and they would need to reschedule. Fine, I get it and an appointment was set up for the following week. The day of the appointment, we received no communication whatsoever and the mechanic again did not show up. My husband attempted to call them but was on hold for a long time with no answer. An automated voice said he would be called back. He was called back several hours later and was told that the mechanic wasn't reachable for some reason and he would be called back to reschedule. He was never called back and emailed them the next day after trying to call them again and received an automated voice saying that everyone is busy and to try again tomorrow. He emailed them and expressed his frustration. They got back to him the next day and rescheduled after offering a small discount that my husband had to ask for. On the day of the now third appointment, he did receive communication from the mechanic that the appointment was confirmed and he would be there within the scheduled two hour window. He never showed and we received no further communication. Once again my husband had to call them and wait for a response. He was told that the job the mechanic was working on before ran longer than expected. Personally, I feel that if that's the case some sort of communication should have happened, but apparently Wrench does not feel the same. The last try was this morning. Once again, no text, email or phone call and the mechanic never showed up. My husband called and was actually able to speak to someone. This person told him that they were short staffed like that's a good reason to ignore customers and not address or fix the problem. There were also roosters heard in the background that were so loud and distracting that it was hard to hear and the customer service rep had to repeat themselves. I understand working from home, but there should not have been that much distraction. We are finally done giving this company chances. After receiving the run around and lame excuses for weeks it is just not worth it. The only good thing here is that at least we weren't charged anything which I should say that the rep on the phone today said that they would not charge the cancellation fee as if he was doing us a favor when we were not the ones who cancelled. I had an appointment in Minneapolis on Tuesday January 21st it was not until I called 30 minutes after my time slot to ask where my technician was did they say "oh yea he's not coming" so they rescheduled me for Wednesday , I then got a call later on Tuesday that he can not make it until Thursday. Hired Wrench to diagnose a problem with the Hybrid system on my car. I explicitly asked on the phone if they work on hybrid cars and told them the symptoms and what the screen was displaying (stating the hybrid system had an issue). On "diagnosis" they did their multipoint inspection and read a code and said "take it to the dealer". With 2 min of googling the code they provided I found a technical service bulletin with the proper way to diagnose which component is the issue. This was not performed. I questioned this later and was told "we don't work on hybrid systems". So I was intentionally lied to. They work on hybrid cars but not the hybrid part of hybrid cars....what a worthless deceitful company. read more

We paid Wrench to inspect a used car for us before purchasing last weekend. The opening sentence of their report was "This Toyota Prius is in good running and driving condition with some flaws worthy of note." All of the listed flaws were cosmetic. So we bought it. Driving it home, I noticed that the heat wasn't working. I double checked the Wrench checklist, and they had checked the heat as working, which seemed annoying. The next day it died twice on my commute. Took it in to my mechanic. They say the Prius hybrid battery is shot and the coolant pump needs replacing. Over $4k in repairs to make it drivable. When I contacted them about it, they responded with "we are not responsible for any decisions made to purchase the vehicle," and "Thank you and have a great day." This is a huge financial setback for our family. We thought we were doing due diligence by hiring them to inspect a vehicle we were considering purchasing. read more

When the mechanic was fixing my car, he accidentally put it in drive instead of park causing the car to accelerate forward and totaled my fridge causing damage to the front of the car. Now my car is damaged, fridge is totaled and left a huge crack on the wall. They are refusing to answer my emails or calls. I'm considering filing small claim and sued them for a lot more. Wrench failed at diagnosing and repairing my cars issue. Two different mechanics said it was the starter that needed to be replaced. I had them replace it the first time and the next day my car still would not start up. They next mechanic came per their warranty policy, did another diagnostic and confirmed again that it was the starter. So a brand new starter was replaced. That mecanhic left my house with my car still not running. Plus he had his girlfriend with him and asked if she could use my bathroom.Like how unprofessional is that. So I reached out to Wrench to let them know after the starter has been replaced twice my car is still not working. I asked for a refund because clearly I paid for something that is not wrong with my car. They said they have to send another mechanic to check the car again before they issue me a refund. My starter replacement was nearly $800. They will not get away with this. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company. They are seriously some clowns if they think I am going to let another one of their mechanics look at my car so I can get my money back when clearly they failed already. Why would I continue to trust who they send out. All together four different mechanics have been sent out between the dagnostics and the repair. They have cancelled appointments several times and all but one was late when they did come. So why would there need to be a fifth mechanic to come out to give me my money back? They explain the potential work that my car might need after the threads of a broken spark plug got stuck in the cylinder head and they sent out Ray to help me out. Ray is a life saver, got the stuck spark plug tread out of the cylinder head, taught me a couple of things and brought my car back to life. There was an issue with the payment I was u Der the impression that it wasn't due till the time of service but I was charged early 150 bucks just to Diagnose my problem. Once the mechanic arrived (nice guy seemed knowledgeable) he told me that he couldn't really diagnose my problem because wrench dose not give him tools to run certain test and that to get them to give him the kit and to come back out would be expensive, so basically I spent 150 dollars to be told he can't really tell me what the problem was. I am such a big fan of this service. Used it for the first time today since my office got a discount code. I'm happy to pass that on if you are so inclined. Anyway, I chose Wrench over a traditional shop because they were roughly the same cost as my last oil change and I wanted to be able to make a firm appointment and know my car would be done by the time I needed it again. The online booking was SO EASY, and they let me know the firm start and end times for my services. I had an oil change, which comes with synthetic oil, fluid check and top off, vacuum and window wash, filter change, and I had my tires rotated. 107 and change, they don't charge until the service is complete, and they will literally do this for you while your car is parked ANYWHERE in Seattle. Mine was on a residential street behind my office and I didn't have to move it or do a darn thing. The tech Ray came back in after to let me know how it all went, and not only that, but he gave me some ideas about when I'd need more services, like new tires, brakes, etc., without being pushy or trying to scare me into buying more services than I'd made an appointment for. He was super sweet and really made me feel confident the work was done well. He loves cars and it's obvious he is a good guy who knows what he's doing. I'll be using them again for sure. read more
