I have taken my cats here for many years and always had a great experience. Even when the news wasn't good the staff was kind and empathetic. This past year has been a scary year for my cats and the vets have walked me through each condition, kindly answered questions and helped me understand treatment. However, my cat Pietro offers a vocal zero stars. He did not enjoy his experience, does not like shots, blood work or urine samples and says the treats are not fooling him.

Well I was seeing Dr Laury, I brought my bunny there who was dehydrated and told them that over the phone. I felt this was an emergency and they told me to bring her in and also told me that I should make a follow up appointment. I informed the receptionist that this was urgent and I'll deal with making an appointment later. It was almost 8pm when I brought Ovaltine in. Dr Lauri called me while I was waiting in the car 45 minutes later and I put her on a three way with Ovaltines doctor who offered to consult with her while I was there. Finally after that Dr Laury told me they would give her fluids. An X-ray was advised to check her heart. She didn't want to do it because "they were already there past closing". Ok fine. My MAJOR problem with this was when I went to the door to pick up Ovaltine it was dark and Ovaltine was laying down with her back towards me (strange for a bunny, but I figure she had a rough night). When I got her home she was in the same position! That is when I realized she was DEAD!!! Did they give me a dead animal?!?! I will never know the answer to this. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ANIMAL BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Even if and that's a BIG if Ovaltine was not dead when they gave her back to me, She was obviously critical. Why not tell me to bring her to a 24 hour vet???? Do they not know when an animal is critical, and know impending death?!?! I will never know if my baby was alive or dead when they gave her to me and if I can have just one person not go thru what i went thru I'm glad I wrote this. Please check your animals before leaving this place!! I will always wish I had. **** Your response is a complete lie but it makes you look better. GOOD FOR YOU****

My 3 year old kitty had excessive drooling so I took her in. Turns out she has a very common occurrence in cats, tooth resorption. I'm a dental hygienist myself so I knew I couldn't just let this condition go. For a low end estimate for dental cleaning, extraction and xrays they told me $1300. But it could go up to $2000... that's absolutely ridiculous. I like this clinic, it's very clean and they are very thorough but they are always trying to sell you product and their fees are always so expensive. I'm always nervous checking out to what my total will be for the check up. They also were gonna charge me around $700 for a spay.... i took my kitty to peaceable kingdom for $75 for the procedure. I will be finding a new affordable vet.

Great service and great doctors! They helped me when my dog got hit by a car. I called ahead and they were ready and waiting for me when I got there. The doctor explained everything to me clearly and let me know exactly what I had to do! I was in and out in less time then I expected. They even let set up a payment arrangement because I didn't have the money right then. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a vet! And all my animals will continue to go here even though I live 30 mins away! read more

I have been going to Wright's Veterinary Medical Center for 20+ years and I have never had a problem with them. I started with German Shepherds, than Rottweilers, a Boston Terrier and now 2 Brussles Griffons. All of my animals, past and present have always been treated with kindness and respect. The Dr.'s have always listened to what I had to say since I knew/know my pets so well. Would I recommend them to anyone? You bet you life I would and proud of it. Barbara J. I have not had a positive experience with this service- I found their prices exhorbitant, actually three times higher than another vet I recently found. I feel as if I am a number, the vet's are perfunctary at best, at worst, quite rude. They will charge you for everything they can get away with. I don't mind paying for services for my pets, but I don't need to feel as if its paying for new couches and waiting room, and not the care of my animal. read more

My dog has been cared for here for 2 years. The technicians are friendly and caring. The vets are also friendly and proactive, and take the time to talk about my dog without rushing to the next appointment. A bit pricey but given the level of service a very fair value. read more

The most uncaring uncompassionate people I have ever encountered, It's all about the almighty dollar, they do not care about your pet, they charge you for things you don't even go in for your appointment for. They tried to sell me basically what you call "Tums" for my dog at $30.00, I was smart enough to say no thank you, I will give my dog my own tums that I use my self, how do they even know if your dog will get indigestion Took my dog once, thought I would try again, again price gouged me, NEVER again, and I wilsh people would be smart enough to find a caring and compassionate place, I now go to VCA in Emmaus, so worth the 30min drive, sooooooo caring and compassionate, give them a call, you wont regret it!!!! read more

2 stars only because I felt that the staff was very nice and caring towards my kitten. HOWEVER, they have tons of hidden fees and outrageous prices. I didn't trust their advice on what was necessary for my cat because I felt that they just wanted me to do everything (unnecessary tests, procedures, etc.) to make money. I was told the first visit would be $65 and 45 minutes. I walked out 2 and a half hours later with a $350 bill for a checkup and shots. Their main priority definitely seems to be money and I don't like that. Will be going somewhere else. read more

Professional, courteous, compassionate staff; exquisitely clean facility. Dr. Boyer was sensitive to my concerns and answered all questions thoroughly. I could see a change in my cat very soon after beginning omega oil therapy as she recommended. I trust the vets at Wright's to care for my pet, and would definitely recommend them without reservation. read more

I took our newly adopted dog here this morning for a general check up. I scheduled an appointment and was told to bring a stool sample, and that the appointment was $85 because the doctor spends 45 minutes with us. We had to wait 30 minutes after my appointment for Dr. Wright to see us, then he sped through the check up spending 25 minutes with us before moving on. Upon checking out, they charged me $120 because apparently testing the stool sample was an additional $35 which they conveniently failed to mention when I made the appointment. read more

Brought my dog here for 10 years... The prices were extremely high but I always paid. My dog had a surgery and was basically bleeding to death after three transfusions. I had spent 4800 trying to save him at the local emergency vet. I was broke. I took him home to see if he could survive outside of the oxygen chamber.. He was suffering. I went to Wrights and explained I was out of money but would pay Thursday when I got paid l. Could they please put my dog down for me. I was holding him. The nurse said well sorry you didn't make an appointment and we will need 160.00 for the emergency visit plus another 300 to put him down. This was at 10 am.. She said well if you come back at 2 pm you can have an appointment and won't need as much money. I left and will never go back. They saw my dog dying and only worried about the money and saw him suffering .. Again I spent thousands here over 10 years since it's local. Never again. read more

Save your money! I've been there multiple times and each time they add hidden fees. I brought my dog in for a Lyme test and go to check out and they ran 3 other blood panels and gave unnessecary additional meds without my consent. Wouldn't you think to ask the owner before running unnessecary blood work? Plus the doctors are very inconsistent one dr says my dogs breathing is fine (she's short nosed) then the next insists on laser surgery. Such rip offs. I was a vet tech for 3 years so unfortunately for them I'm not an idiot. read more

We have taken our dogs here for 7 years. Although I have no complaints about the overall care, they are always trying to upsell additional services and procedures that your pet really doesn't need. I was told that my dog had a very severe heart murmur and needed a battery of tests that would cost approximately $1200.00. I declined since she seemed fine. This same vet also told me that she needed a dental ASAP which would cost $2500.00 because of the anesthesia risk with the heart murmur. The next time I visited the vet I was told there was no heart murmur and her teeth looked okay. Even in an emergency situation you need to have cash up front for treatment. They will not let you set up a payment plan and will not treat your pet until you pay the estimated fee. They are VERY expensive. You can't even get a routine vaccine here without spending $200. I've been getting vaccines at Petco's clinic which is very reasonably priced. I understand that they are in business to make money, but I'll be shopping for a more reasonably priced vet. read more

I scheduled an 8 am appointment to have my bird's beak and nails trimmed. I deliberately chose the first appointment of the day because of my own work schedule. I waited in the exam room for 15 minutes and when I went to the front desk staff to ask about the wait I was told " the doctor is running late for work." Dr. Doberczak frequently ran late for our daytime appointments, but I understood because I knew she was giving time to her other patients, but to run late for work and not have a plan in place for the first appointment of the day is not something I understand. The receptionist stated that they were trying to find another doctor to assist me. Not knowing when another doctor would be available and no wanting to run late for my own job I left. read more

Wright Veterinary Medical Center began in a renovated barn on the family farm of Dr. Clifford Wright, Jr. In Bethlehem, PA in 1949. Since then, they have grown to be a full-service veterinary provider with advanced services and a highly committed team. Services offered include new pet wellness visits, grooming, pet dentistry, exotic pet care, on-site full lab services, and more. Their philosophy surrounds a "fear-free" patient experience. Established in 1949.

Dr. Clifford Wright,Jr was raised in Bethlehem and attended Muhlenberg College. He continued his education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and began practicing in Bethlehem Township in 1949. Thus the Wright Veterinary Hospital began in a renovated barn on his parents' farm and part of the original stone wall is still visible in the hospital today. The hospital started out with only 2 employees Dr. Clifford Wright, and his wife Louise. The hospital has grown with 4 owners and a staff of approximately 70 employees. Dr. Clifford Wright Jr practiced veterinary medicine for 58 years. His belief and passion was to create a hospital that would evolve with the times so that practicing veterinarians and staff would be able to provide the best care possible for your pet.

Meet the Business Owner: Geoffrey W.

Dr. Geoff Wright was raised in Bethlehem in the upstairs of the Wright Veterinary Medical Center along with three brothers. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan Tech University and his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.

We didn't like the small rooms or the office space but to get a vet we like makes that irrelevant. The staff was super. The vet also told us about the other vets so we know if he's not there, we feel comfortable enough to go to a different vet in the practice. Our little guy is 14 years old and was treated with care and knowledge. I got the name of this place on nextdoor.com but I confirmed what they all said on Yelp. We felt great seeing the complaint about how this place was during the covid crisis (on Yelp) and knew it was the right place to go :) . So, thanks Yelp users.

Probably over 200$ worth of things-just to make a point. While I realize they're run predominantly by volunteers & they're probably stressed and busy, the way I was just treated is terrible. I just had my almost 23 year old cat put to sleep on Monday afternoon after a stroke. I'm devastated but trying to honor him by donating his things-I took the time to launder everything for them yesterday to cut down on their work load after speaking with Patricia on Monday night. Patricia was very kind-also want to make that point. When I arrived, there didn't seem to be any access to the place. Again, I get it, volunteers are busy. I was brushed off by an employee I saw entering the building, who told me to just leave it outside the door & that someone would come and get it. Ok. I stacked his things by the door. I sat in my car & cried. Ten minutes went by. No one came to get the things. I decided to try the front door, just to make sure they were aware the things were there (& , frankly, it was a bit hard for me to just leave the stuff outside in the parking lot). I tried the front door-locked. I decided to just go, but a woman popped out the front door with an immediate attitude-"You need to give us a minute!". I told her, ok, I just left some things for donation, I just had my cat put to sleep on Monday. She asked where I left them & I told her over by the other door. She asked, sharply, "Where? The back door?". I told her no, right around the corner. At this point, this woman had the audacity to ask me "why are you so angry?". My face was swollen, I feel pretty sure it was clear I'd just been crying. I asked if she was serious & she responded, "Yeah! I am!" ZERO empathy for someone grieving the loss of a pet-from someone who works with people & animals. I was stunned, I still am half an hour later. I was planning on returning to adopt from this place when I'm ready for new babies AND to donate time AND money. Not now. I'm absolutely stunned at the way I was just treated. I cannot recommend this place, especially after seeing numerous other reviews from other folks who've been treated similarly.

This is a comment on the care my 9 month old german shepherd received when we took him to Wright for a second opinion We saw Dr. Adrienne Breaux. Our local vet refused to listen to our concerns regarding our Niko's persistent vomiting from the age off 8 weeks (which is when we got him). After many many episodes of vomiting we got tired of not being acknowledged and took him to Wright. Not to make a sad story longer. After xrays were performed we were told Niko had the worst case o megaesophagus they had ever seen. Dr. Adrienne showed me the x rays. It was not hard to see. The decision was made to peacefully send Niko onto the Bridge. We miss our baby so very much. Dr. Adrienne was such a comfort and was visibly upset by the ending. The staff from front desk to techs were wonderful. We live in the Poconos which is a trek but do not regret our decision to seek a second opinion. Our pup deserved the best and we truly feel he got that at Wright. Thank you Dr. Adrienne for your care, kind words ad empathy. I might add at this time that although we voiced our concern to the breeder several times he assured us that Niko received a good health report from his vet. Sad. read more

We have been going to Wright for about 15 to 20 years. They are amazing. We use them for medical issues as well as for boarding. In the past we have always had German Shepherd's, recently one of our German shepherds passed away. The family at Wright, and I do call them my family, was amazing during the ordeal. A few days later Jenn Brown mentioned that she had a rescue at the facility that we might like. She was absolutely correct! Lily and our German Shepherd Shayna are inseparable. This causes some issues when they board, but the boarding staff and the nursing staff know how to handle them perfectly! I trust them with my four legged family! We normally see Dr. Wright however we have seen Dr. Mers Dr. Ortiz, and Dr. Singh. The doctors there are beyond amazing. read more

Everything about this establishment was excellent! Never visiting this center, i was referred for emergency services for my poor bird. They saw me within an hour and the waiting time was also very short. The vet (wish I could remember her name) was excellent, concerned, patient, great customer service and definitely knowledgeable. She made me feel at ease and I thank her so much for her assistance. Center is big, clean and modern. Front staff is professional and gracious. Basically my birds now have a "go to" vet! read more

Dr. Goodman was so thorough, caring and loving with my special pet, Don Gato. He has something that is causing him difficulty eliminating which is serious...I went in on a Saturday and he was hospitalized. Dr. Goodman was not quick to want to do surgery...trying to find ways to help him through this problem - if it winds up this way, then it does but the level of expertise and care is something I envy as a human. All the members of the Wright team are caring, loving and top notch. Even Gato says so. read more

If you are wealthy, Wright's is very good at stealing your money! I had my Westie in today for Kennel Cough and it blossomed to a $404 bill! I was never told of all the meds they prescribed! ($253.75 worth!) They believe they have a free hand to prescribe whatever they want! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! Dr. Google gave me all the info I need to treat my dog myself! (At a fraction of the cost) Too many crooks these days! MONEY/GREED comes 1st, care & customer service is a distant 2nd/3rd! :-( read more

We always love seeing Dr. Flynn. She provides a lot of individualized, focused attention. She really, genuinely cares about the animals, and is very skilled with them. Makes it worth the drive in from Manhattan - Dr. Flynn's care is the same high quality you'd get in NYC, but much, much less expensive! We have two beloved, now-senior dogs, both with various ailments (kidney disease for one, lymphoma for the other), and we trust Wright with their health. read more

Had a great experience with the staff and the veterinarian that took the time to discuss the options for treatment and causes for what my dog Rocky struggles with. 120 lb lab with ear issues. I'm not the easiest customer to deal with an engineer that asks a lot of questions. Thumbs up for the attention to detail and willingness to answer all my questions. When a person takes their pet to a hospital both the human and animal are usually on " edge". At this Medical Center the staff eliminates at least half of these feelings by their commitment to this profession. Each person has the ability to touch, in some instances, a stranger and make them feel better under stressful circumstances--- and they do. True compassion and respect is the cornerstone for this practice. read more

So happy with Wright Veterinary Medical Center for our "Angel". You can tell right away how much the doctors & staff love animals, Have always been able to get an appointment that is convenient for well visits. Sick visits can be seen the same day. I have 21 birds and Wrights is the only place to go to have them taken care of. They are knowledgeable, loving and they care about my birds. I thank God every day that I found them, they have already saved 2 of my birds that were in bad shape. Very comfortable setting except for the metal benches. I really don't like the metal benches. They are very cold. My visit was with my favorite doctor, Paula Flynn. She is an excellent veterinarian. I have been going to Wright Veterinary since 2001. The entire staff has shown over the years that they care about my dogs and that they listen to my concerns. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Even when dealing with the hardest situations (euthanasia) they have shown me and my pets the utmost care and respect. read more

On entering the Clinic, my pet Beagle seemed to start convulsing, immediately a staff member came outside, in the rain, picked her up, and took her to an Emergency area. We do not go to Wright Animal Hopsital, but took our dog there due to an emergency - and we were very happy that we did. They took really good care of our dog, found out what was wrong, etc. I was very thankful that they were open and took our dog in on an emergency basis. Great service and staff. read more

Dr. Bright is wonderful, knowledgable, and compassionate. Pre op the receptionists were extremely helpful. Post op not to much. Unorganized office to some extent. Clean office with pricey care. I wish you guys were more cost effective. I do not want to have to find another provider. read more
