Dr.Ortiz is a very kind person and you can tell he is in the right profession. He's very empathetic and truly a great veterinarian. He not only cared for my elderly golden retriever, he also really cared about me and my small family during a difficult time. Although we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Dr.Ortiz and his staff did the best they could to comfort me while doing so. I called when Wright opened one morning to bring my mom's dog for a sick appointment. She'd been scratching at her ear relentlessly. I was told they were "down a doctor" and could only see us the next day. I did not think we could wait, and was told an "ER" visit could be arranged for a fee of $226.00. This is ridiculous. When I took our pup in, I asked to speak to the office manager. She said they do reserve a certain number of appointments daily to see sick pets, but they were already gone. This business opens at 8, and I called at 8. How they were gone is a mystery to me. Being "down a doctor", and obviously then being able to see fewer patients, should not become the problem of the client. The doctor was lovely. No complaints there. We left with a bill of $366.00 for a routine sick visit. This is criminal, and is no way to run a business. read more

We were regular clients here for several years. When my parents needed a vet for their dying dog several years ago, I recommended Wright without hesitation. Due to their work schedules, my parents could not bring their dog in for his bi-weekly procedure to drain fluids from his chest, so I took on that responsibility. Every time I would wait in the waiting room for 60-90 minutes. I never complained. One day I simply forgot about the appointment until about an hour before. I rushed to my parents, picked up the dog and headed for Wright's. I checked in at the desk exactly 8 minutes late. I waited as always. Dr. Wright comes into the waiting room and starts yelling at me. He says I am late and he will not see the dog. When I say yelling, I mean YELLING - in front of all the other clients and staff. I was mortified, but also shocked that he wouldn't see the dog considering this was a literal life or death procedure. Before the next appointment came up the dog collapsed at home and drowned in his own fluids. We have not been back to Wright's since. read more

Well I was seeing Dr Laury, I brought my bunny there who was dehydrated and told them that over the phone. I felt this was an emergency and they told me to bring her in and also told me that I should make a follow up appointment. I informed the receptionist that this was urgent and I'll deal with making an appointment later. It was almost 8pm when I brought Ovaltine in. Dr Lauri called me while I was waiting in the car 45 minutes later and I put her on a three way with Ovaltines doctor who offered to consult with her while I was there. Finally after that Dr Laury told me they would give her fluids. An X-ray was advised to check her heart. She didn't want to do it because "they were already there past closing". Ok fine. My MAJOR problem with this was when I went to the door to pick up Ovaltine it was dark and Ovaltine was laying down with her back towards me (strange for a bunny, but I figure she had a rough night). When I got her home she was in the same position! That is when I realized she was DEAD!!! Did they give me a dead animal?!?! I will never know the answer to this. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ANIMAL BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Even if and that's a BIG if Ovaltine was not dead when they gave her back to me, She was obviously critical. Why not tell me to bring her to a 24 hour vet???? Do they not know when an animal is critical, and know impending death?!?! We were there almost weekly for 4 weeks seeing a different doctor each time. Each visit seemed extremely rushed and did not cover our concerns. Each time we took our puppy we were told they didn't know what was wrong and sent us home. The last straw was when our puppy was unable to walk and we took him there for an emergency visit. The vet called him pathetic and sad. Very very unprofessional. Finally we had to take our puppy to the emergency room to find out what is wrong with him. He is very very sick. I wanted to like this place and the proximity was perfect. However, it has never been a good experience. I have had to wait for as long as 90 minutes even when a time to be seen was given. Front desk girls are polite and nice, but super disorganized. I have been taking animals here for the past 20 years and the service really all depends on the vet you are going to see. The problem is I can never establish a vet because they always leave to start their own practices or work somewhere else. My one cat is overweight and the one vet (who isn't there anymore) wanted to prescribe me special diet food for $80 a bag. The next vet told me to just feed him whatever but less of it, the third vet said to feed a high protein low carb diet. My other cat has seizures and I saw a vet that was there for a few years but he moved to south Jersey. Dr. Breaux is a fantastic doctor and treats my cats great but I'm just waiting for her to leave to and I'll have to start all over. So while it's a fantastic office the disappearing star in the review reflects the disappearing DVMs. read more

My first visit was pleasant, Ortiz seems like a nice fellow who cared for my dog and took the time out of his day to assure me that she is in good health since I just rescued her. He asked me for an updated vaccine report and procedures. I informed him that I would get them to him immediately from her previous vet. I am aware they sent them and yet the nurses insisted they didn't receive. I reached out several times to her previous vet to make sure. They then insisted on offering more vaccines just in case to make sure. I'm not an animal expert but I'm not going to keep shooting up my dog with extra vaccinations. I have gotten my pup spayed at another location after being floored by the two thousand dollar estimate they quoted me at. The other facility was much friendlier, allowed me inside the building and gave me an exact time for pick up and drop off. (Wrights is mostly always running behind). They did however offer me a short window of time to get her chip number read during the day so I could get her a lifetime license. The one thing that bothers me the most and why I am seeking other primary care is due to the fact that every time I bring her there and ask the nurses questions I feel as though I am being judged and belittled by their answers. The constant eye rolls and the lack of understanding floor me. Their constant attitude problems cause me to be uneasy and defensive. Every time I turn around I get a letter in the mail saying she is due for another vaccination or check up. It's odd that I never see any younger people there either. Which is alarming. I wish anyone who takes their pet there the best and I hope you have funds that can make them happy. Mostly everyone I talked to when I was looking for a spay told me to steer clear of the facility, the more I go the more I can understand why. My 3 year old kitty had excessive drooling so I took her in. Turns out she has a very common occurrence in cats, tooth resorption. I'm a dental hygienist myself so I knew I couldn't just let this condition go. For a low end estimate for dental cleaning, extraction and xrays they told me $1300. But it could go up to $2000... that's absolutely ridiculous. I like this clinic, it's very clean and they are very thorough but they are always trying to sell you product and their fees are always so expensive. I'm always nervous checking out to what my total will be for the check up. They also were gonna charge me around $700 for a spay.... i took my kitty to peaceable kingdom for $75 for the procedure. First I would like to say that my family has been bringing our pets to Wrights for over 30 years and I was very satisfied up until now. I brought my Healthy dog in to get a cyst looked at on her tail because she had been biting at it. She had no medical issue before, I always bring her in for her annual check up and shots. She is very healthy but the cyst looked like it needed to be drained. My appointment was for 5PM and I was running late and said I'd be there in about 8 minutes. I was told on the phone if I'm more than 15 minutes late I'd have to reschedule, which I totally understand. I called from the parking lot as instructed at 5:08 and was asked if I could hold while they took care of another call. I was on hold for 7 minutes which put me at 5:15. When they picked back up they asked what time my appointment was for and when I said 5pm they said I would have to re-schedule. Nice try, I was within the 15 minute window and refused to reschedule. (strike#1) They took in my dog and drained the cyst with a needle, I thought they would have cut it open and removed everything but they said it should get flatter but to keep an eye on it. They recommended a culture which I agreed to even though my dog showed no symptoms of an infection. They could not take blood because she is very nervous going to the vet. I had to come back in a few days to get blood, they put her on an antibiotic and told me to call before the 10 days were up for a re-check I gave them my cell# to call me when they received the results. They Called my home phone with the results, I never got the message. I scheduled my 3rd appointment before her meds were finished because she was lethargic and appeared to have a temperature. I brought her in and they told me they left a message for me on my voicemail, I verified what number they called and it was my home phone which I never check. They changed the antibiotics at that point because she was having side effects (she was fine when I brought her in originally and became sick after i started the medication)(strike#2) I brought her back a few days with the new medication because her condition was worsening, it turns out the new medication had even worse side effects, one being pancreatitis. (strike#3) A second doctor looked at her and suggested we take her completely off the meds and monitor her closely and check back in a few days. She said if my dog didn't improve she would have to be hospitalized. She was still lethargic so I brought her back, (4th visit) this doctor suggested a shot for the antibiotics so the drugs didn't go through her pancreas and to monitor her. The Shot worked and she is better now. The other drugs made her sick when she was healthy to start with, this whole mess cost me $1200 and it took 4 appointments and almost a hospital stay for a dog who was healthy before I took her in. I disputed some of the charges but they were paid anyway. You have my money but you won't have my business going forward, I will find another vet to take my pet to. read more

I brought my dog here a while ago for stomach problems (we thought she had ate something and it got stuck in her stomach.), and they told us they needed $600 up front or they were going to let her die. Who says that? + $1000 for her to stay over night. during a pandemic no one has that kind of money sitting around. We ended up not even going to them, because we would've paid for all that for no reason. She had already gotten an X ray so we paid for that. She just had a stomach infection and needed antibiotics. Dr. Swalje and Dr. Speak are so great with my pet guinea pig. They are so knowledgeable about all aspects of guinea pig care and helped my little boy when he was bloated, they were the only vet that actually helped him. They don't push any tests or any unnecessary procedures but educate me about things my guinea pig may need. She advised that we give her every vaccine available, start her on their prescription diet and a quote of $3200 for dental work!! I had already explained to her that our dog had received all her vaccines at the shelter and I didn't feel comfortable over dosing her with more "just to be safe" especially from a vet who again...appeared repulsed by even having to touch my dog. My vet and many others (techs and vets) have left this facility largely due to the heavy work load placed on all. I also have been told (and have seen first hand) how they automatically add charges to your bill without your consent. Lots of practices do this, but I find it a dishonest way to do business. For example, if you drop your pet off for any kind of procedure, they automatically give Capstar (an oral flea medication) to your pet whether they need it or not. Even if its a safe medication, I do not approve of medicating pets unnecessarily and, of course they add it to your bill. I wonder if your dog had an allergic reaction to the pill, if they also would charge you for treatment..yeah, I bet they would. Between the lost staff, price increases and their routine policy of tacking on extras to your bill, I can not recommend this facility any more. read more

My cat needed to be seen right away and I was given an appointment in sixty minutes Upon arrival, we were taken back to a room and given a blanket with a calming scent to ease my cat's anxiety. The vet tech shared some of her own personal stories with her pets, which was calming for me. I can say, I did not hear the prognosis I wanted to hear, but the vet Dr. Aiello was so much more than an excellent clinician at this difficult time. She was informative, reassuring, and genuinely compassionate. I don't know if she realized, but the decision I was struggling to make just seemed to crystallize by her reassurance. I will certainly use her as a resource as we move on with my cat's care. She epitomizes what, in my mind, is a caring vet. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr Wright and his team. My 10 month old puppy became ill and they did everything in their power and above to help figure out what was wrong. In the end it was the worst possible thing and my baby pup lost his battle with cancer on Friday. The team at Wrights were compassionate, caring and treated my boy like he were their own - above and beyond in the level of care. And they allowed me to visit and walk him outside of visiting hours when he was hospitalized. I can't recommend them high enough. Dr Wright reached out to every specialist on the East Coast for additional ideas and guidance too to help figure out what was wrong. I brought 8 year old chihuahua in, who was in severe pain. Shaking, panting, would eat or drink. He was seen by Dr Mera. She has absolutely no bed side manner at all. They way she man handled my dog was totally unprofessional. She rushed through her time with him and wouldn't even do a blood test or X-ray to find out what was going on. She instead told me he had a stomach virus. I went home. My dog was in worse shape than when I brought him in. Took him to Valley Centeral where he was hospitalized and diagnosed with Pancreatitis. If I could give a negative number of stars for this establishment I would! I had booked my appointment for JUST an X-ray and exam. The X-ray was the ONLY reason why I booked an appointment. I called and made the appointment the day before and made sure the person understood it was FOR AN X-RAY ONLY. I called again the morning of the appointment to make sure that the appointment was FOR AN X-RAY. I was assured that I would be able to get an X-ray at my appointment that day. I arrived and had to give a complete patient history even though the vet tech had my dog's records in her hands. I kept explaining to the tech that this was supposed to be for an X-RAY ONLY and the office visit (I was told on the phone that I would have to pay for the office visit and X-ray which I was fine with). I was told by Dr Ortiz, the vet that was seeing my dog, that it was only a consult appointment and not for an X-ray. Dr Ortiz then laughed at me when I said that Dr Harley, the owner of North Saucon Animal Hospital, spoke with staff at his vet clinic yesterday and was assured that I would be able to get the X-ray I needed. That the only reason why I was there with my dog was because Dr Harley didn't have a large enough X-ray table for my 195lb English Mastiff. Dr Ortiz said that I had a "very sick dog" and that he needed to do a full assessment and consultation. I had already been to my vet 2 days prior for a full assessment and complete blood work which he had records of in his hands. When I asked Dr Ortiz if he was going to do the X-ray - which, again, was the ONLY reason why I went to Wright Animal Hospital - he laughed under his breath and said "No. it's booked all day." So with that I stood up and said that this was NOT what I was told and that I called to confirm not once but twice and was assured that I could get the X-ray done. This establishment is a disgrace to Vet Hospitals and clearly doesn't know how to treat it's patients or how to communicate between the doctors and support staff. I will NEVER set foot in that vet hospital again. No one deserves to be lied to and then laughed at by anyone let alone a Vet that is supposed to be a specialist in his field. It was a HUGE waste of time and since my dog was sick to begin with, a stressful event he could have done without. Do not waste your time or money going to this vet hospital. They are dishonest and don't know how to communicate with their own staff let alone a client/patient. read more

We received a letter from the woman who took our call from my prior review. She stated that she felt they couldn't help our pet because she hadn't been there ( even though we were patients through our dogs) because they didn't know her. She never mentioned this during our exchange and only kept reiterating that she would be considered a new patient and they couldn't see her as they were scheduling 3-4 months out. This is odd to me as (1) she didn't recommend another vet, (2) another vet certainly wouldn't know our now deceased pet, (3) they knew US. She also stated her years with the practice when in my opinion, I thought she was new as her unprofessional behavior was apparent. We sent letters to the owners (at least who we believe to be) and if this is the response, I am inclined to think their clients are not important enough to elicit a personal response. We have since changed to a practice that tried to assist when they didn't know us or our beloved pet. Keep in mind this center is 2 hours from my house but I have an "exotic pet" and not all typical vets take care of these types of animals. The center is immaculately clean - spotless. We brought the cat in and they said they would check the cat out and that we could call today and see how the cat was doing. I just got off the phone only to find out that they EUTHANIZED the cat. Didn't even bother to call us. These people are monsters and obviously do not actually care about animals. They claim the cat was FIV positive, however FIV cats are still adoptable and deserve to live like any other cat. Disgusting. My dog has been seen by this practice for the last 12 years. I recently took her in for an eye issue and the vet misdiagnosed the dog. I took my dog to Valley Central Veterinary and the Ophthalmologist immediately diagnosed the dog correctly and my dog is now improving. I asked for a refund for the extra expenses incurred from Wright Veterinary and got to listen to them tell me how they did not do anything wrong. True. But they did not do anything right either. For the amount of money spent both at their facility and Valley Central, I expected 2 things; first an apology for misdiagnosing my dog and second a refund. Too bad for me, no apology and a refund of $90 out of the collective $389 I spent at their facility no mention of reimbursing me for the visit to Valley Central. Very disappointing. read more
