We weren't hungry so we didn't order food. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and sat outside by the creek. Very enjoyable! We decided to return a couple days later and get the pizza. It was Sunday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The two staff members were great to chat with and hear about their lives, friends and how they ended up in South Dakota. It was a great conversation, and I wish those ladies the best. Oh, the pizza.... Very light crust (artisan) and excellent choices. We got 3 different ones and all were very tasty. It was already completely filled in the bar with wait times until 6:30pm at that point. Come early or reserve if you have a big group! There are two dinner options for adults - bacon wrapped steak and a German noodles dish. The bacon wrapped steak was great and also came with a wedge salad. The prices were incredible at about $20 per entree. It does have a strong bacon flavor so you have to be sure to enjoy that flavor. There was a hotdog option for kids and a vegetarian menu. The dessert menu was extension with more than 10 items. I had the napoleon and it was light, airy, and flaky. Everyone was happy with their desserts and the price was around $7 per item. After a long day of traveling, we called to place a takeout order about 30 minutes before closing. The employee who took our order, a woman in a green shirt, listened while my sister and I ordered, then let out a loud, frustrated sigh and said, "Ugh... is that it then?" Her tone made it very clear that our order was an inconvenience. When I arrived to pick up and pay, I stood at the counter much longer than I should have, and it became obvious I was being ignored. The woman in the green shirt who had taken our order made eye contact with me multiple times but continued to act as if I wasn't standing there. There were three employees behind the counter, yet none of them acknowledged me. The only person who finally came over to help was a kind woman who had been sweeping on the other side of the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing because no one else would. I have 13 years of waitressing experience, so I completely understand how frustrating last-minute orders before closing can be. However, that's never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. We called before closing, were polite throughout the interaction, and simply expected basic customer service. If taking an order 30 minutes before closing and acknowledging a customer at the counter is too much to ask, then maybe customer service isn't the right fit. Being busy is understandable. Being rude and pretending customers don't exist isn't. Needless to say, we won't be back.

She then began to argue with me. Then when the server came out to deliver food and collect payment she said, "Your total is $20, or $22, something, I don't know". After that, we were then shorted food. If a customer orders a 6 piece, 7 piece, or an 8 piece meal, you might want to make sure you give them the correct amount... considering that's what they are paying for! In my opinion, it is definitely worth the extra drive to go to the Sonic at 2316 Mt Rushmore Rd instead!!!

The older lady who took our order was nice and professional but the younger staff member with the braid and tinsel who gave us our order really needs to be retrained. After not getting a root beer float but instead just a regular root beer the young lady working the drive thru was rude and didn't say anything when we told her we ordered a float and not just a normal root beer she just took our drink out of our hands without even saying a word and put ice cream in it. Which is great that's what we wanted. What we didn't want was a side of attitude for just asking her to give us what we ordered. Then she returned to shove it out the window and say "THERE" and walked away before we could say anything. I've worked in customer service enough in my life to know this is an unacceptable response even if you are understaffed.
