I get take out from Wuri often, like once a week. They have the best miso soup around and it's a steal at $1.50. The sushi is pretty decent but the tempura shrimp and veggies are where it's at. The spicy sauce they use on the spicy tuna roll can be quite spicy though so be prepared. read more

They must have gotten their 4 star review when they opened. I've been here several all times and ordered take out several times. Food, and service has gone WAY down hill, to the bottom of the hill, found a ditch, and rolled all the way down to the sewers. I say to the sewers because I'm pretty sure that's where they get their water. I have never had such nasty tasting water in my life. Because their water tastes so nasty their rice also tastes like sewage because obviously they cook their rice in water. Let's talk servers, I don't think I have ever seen the same server twice. Every employee turn over they hire worst, every time. The girls working today must have been found in the same sewer they get their water from. Snobby, sore looks in their faces and lack of service, they take your order, give you you food, and their gone. The don't check on you, they don't clear empty plates, no smiles, and I sat for 15 minutes before I got irritated and walked up to ask for my bill. Chesterfield only has this one sushi restaurant which why I am sure this place is still in business. My advice drive to hall rd or 23 mile. Meh is how I'd summarize both times I've been here. It's decent but not exactly something I would flock back to. On this visit, we tried the fatty tuna sashimi ($7 a piece). I'll be honest - it was our first time trying it and we were really excited. It was a waste of $$ as it was chewy and a bit stringy. Maybe because we were among the last diners? We also tried the Kawasaki roll. This roll was good, pretty standard. The salmon topping it was yummier than the fatty tuna. We also split a duck udon. The broth was satisfying and there were generous chunks of duck. The bill was about $40 for 2 people but a fairly mediocre meal. I would try it again if someone wanted to but I wouldn't initiate a visit. read more

The food was "eh". The waitress quickly took our order and promptly returned with the food. My initial impression of the restaurant gave me a dirty feeling. There were very obnoxious colors on the walls and things were less than clean. We had ordered the house salad. After getting the house salad we had the realization why it only cost $1.50. There was about four leaves of ice burg lettuce. The salad was drowning in the ginger dressing. Up the price of salad and give the customers more lettuce! The sushi was good when it arrived. The plate the sushi was placed on was cracked and the presentation was a little sloppy. The waitress never returned to fill our water or ask how our meal was, I not impressed with the customer service. After eating, I had used the public restroom. A tip of advice, just don't! This is a very clean restaurant with good lighting and nice furniture.(Gross furnishings and lighting always dampens a meal for me!) The servers are very nice nd the chefs at the bar are fun to watch! Of course best of all they have some awesome sushi. Prices are what you would expect for a sushi place and they have a variety of roles to order with a fantastic color picture menu for the more fancy roles. I believe you get a free soup and salad with certain roles or if you order a certain amount. My only complaint about this place is it is $4 for a small handful of edamame. Otherwise everything else is perfect. I would have included a picture of the food but we ate it all too fast, oops. Definitely check out Wuri Sushi and I recommend the Fuji Mountain roll! I wanted to love this place but I just didn't. Upon entering the place I was overwhelmed with the smell of some type of chemical like a construction site smell. It didn't go away either. It's a really casual dinning place, nice, clean. My next statement is probably contradictory to the clean statement I just made, but I also noticed quite a few gnats flying around (it's just annoying in my opinion). I know that this is usually typical when there is aging fruit around. Food: The yellow tail with scallions was not noble. It left much to be desired. The Sunday morning was well my least favorite the fish still had scales and every time I got a piece I was pulling a scale out of my mouth. Eeeeek. The firecracker was by far the most edible sushi and the dressing for the salad did not lack flavor. I came here based on Yelpers reviews but I have to disagree with them. The miso was not anything spectacular I've had better. The sushi was mediocre at best. Overall I won't come out of my way again to visit. The staff was friendly the ladies were helpful and informative. The young guy made me feel rushed and I caught him trying to read this review.. Hahaha be patient young friend! Quick note: CHIEF COMPLAINT -- they don't seem to devein their shrimp. In the sushi roll and shrimp tempura entree I got, a majority of the shrimp had the vein in tact. Honestly, for the prices here, they should have that together. Plenty to say about this place -- most of it good, some of it not so good. A "low 4" rating. I came here a couple nights ago (a Thursday) with my girlfriend at 7ish and a majority of the seats were taken. My first thought of the place was that it's clean and simple, even if a bit too simple ... bland, even. There's a little sushi bar area to sit at, but there's no reason to really sit there: it's super small and there's nothing to see. I ordered beef bibimbap and onion soup, and my girlfriend ordered the chicken katsu. We split the "Nuke" roll, or whatever it's called. With our entree orders, we also got a side salad and miso soup. The side salad comes with a "ginger carrot" dressing, but I find that it mostly just tastes like peanuts, which didn't bother me at all... just know it has peanuts in it if peanuts, you know, can kill you. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. The miso soup is one of the better ones I've had. Not super salty, good flavor... I can't complain about that. I wound up getting dumpling soup before the waiter noticed I was given the wrong soup, so I ended up having the miso, dumpling, AND onion soups. The dumpling soup was super good and I'd definitely have it again, but I see absolutely no reason to re-order the onion soup at the price it is. It's essentially the miso soup with soy sauce, frizzy (made soggy) onions, and a little bit of cilantro. Really, it's a cup of broth for $4.50. Why that's the same price as the plentiful dumpling soup is beyond me. I wouldn't get it again. The beef bibimbap was a first for me. If you order this, stir the hell out of it pretty much nonstop while you eat it. If you don't, you'll end up with some burnt/crunchy rice on the bottom. I stirred, but evidently not enough. For $13ish, I wouldn't say it was a great value, just because there was hardly any meat in it, and they were morsels that were about half the size of a jellybean. Also, the bibimbap on its own doesn't have much flavor. The sauce that comes with it sort of tastes a little like hoison with a lot of red chili paste in it, so it's spicy and, I think, needed. I'd probably order something different if I went back, but it definitely wasn't a terrible choice ... plus it being served in the stone bowl is pretty cool. The sushi roll was great, even if a bit pricey. The sweet and spicy sauces on the sushi is what really made it stand out. Best thing I ate at Wuri. The chicken katsu was not very good. The chicken itself was fine -- I'm pretty sure they either make the chicken up in-house, or use a good, not freaky-ass-sponge-chicken frozen patty -- but the katsu sauce was just funky and needs some recipe tweaking. It almost tasted like mulling spice? It was a little bitter, strange, and just off-putting. Both of us agreed. My girlfriend opted to use soy sauce and the bibimbap sauce instead... can't blame her for that. $55 bought two entrees, a sushi roll, and onion soup. Considering it's a sushi place, that's not all that expensive, but I've had better food from other sushi places for the same price. Yes, the sushi was the best part of Wuri, but that shouldn't mean everything else has to be forgettable-ish. I'll obviously be back (for more sushi and a different entree), but I'm not as "sold" on this place as everybody else is. read more

My boyfriend and I have came here a couple times now and we've been really impressed! The decor is simple. There's no booths and only tables plus the little sushi bar. Very casual setting and not very intimate. My boyfriend and I have only tried the sushi and can't speak for the entrees. We usually get three rolls and split them. Also comes with soup and salad so you really get a bang for your buck. Each roll has between 8-10 pieces. Pieces definitely aren't on the smaller size and we end up bringing home leftovers. For about $25 we get two drinks, soups and salads and the three rolls and then still bring home leftovers. Staff is very friendly and were able to answer all of our questions. A solid sushi experience for the Chesterfield area. There's not a ton of atmosphere, but the rolls are good and they have takeout as well. As a bonus, they have little freebie appetizers; when we went, it was "Sweet Potato Saturday." Try the Volcano roll if you like your rolls with a little spice. Honestly not even sure who our server was. We were greeted by one guy, our orders were taken by another guy, and then our checks were picked up by a girl who oddly asked us "are you ready to pay?", not to mention we ended up waiting 10 minutes to get our checks back, only to have A DIFFERENT person bring back our checks. The salads were drowned in dressing, the tempura rolls had WAYY too much breading, the plates were huge (more like platters), and our waiter? never even came to check on us once after the food was dropped off. I have been here before and do not remember my experience being this poor. I definitely will not be coming back and neither will the people who I was with. read more

First off, I'm very excited Chesterfield finally has a sushi place and not another burger joint! I just went to Wuri sushi for the first time and they've been open for only a ew days now, and I really really enjoyed it! The sushi was very fresh and they include a lots of pieces in each of their rolls (8 each I believe). The service was very good and the atmosphere was very laid back and casual. There is a sushi bar as well in the from that you can sit at. The miso soup was probably one of he best I've had in a long time, and the chesterfield roll was excellent and would totally recommend someone trying it. The only reason I knocked off a star was because of two minor things that I'm sure will get worked out within a few months of opening. I did not like that there was no actual booth option and that all the tables were stand alone wooden tables with wooden chairs. There's really not a more intimate or quiet location in the place. The second reason was that for their sashimi, they don't serve it over a rice roll. They serve it over some sort of cabbage, which kinda takes away from what I look for when I order it. Overall it's a great place and must try around the area. Hopefully they do well! read more

Where to begin; got the order wrong, two separate orders combined into one requiring sorting, takeout packaging was soft styrofoam soup containers leaked, sushi was mediocre at best, shrimp tempura was predominantly breading and was fried hard, miso soup had an off flavor, salad was just chopped lettuce and ginger dressing was a watery tasteless glop. I have eaten here before and it was better but still not great, sorry to say it has declined. read more
