I'd love to give 5 stars, but I just can't. We haven't been in awhile due to it being a bit out of our area, but the places we normally go are closed on Sundays. We came in about 4pm and ordered 4 entrees to go (beef/broccoli, orange chicken, lemon chicken & sweet/sour chicken all with fried rice& an egg roll.) I'm not upset about the price, the wait, the main entrees taste, heck, I can even tell the fried rice is made fresh. Here's the issue... the amount of onions in the fried rice is absurd, literally a small plate/bowl full of small partially cooked onions. I don't mind those onions that are literally cooked all the way through & don't crunch with every bite. All our fried rice was so over powered with onions it was just off putting, like take a bite, crunch... onion! I literally spent over 30 minutes trying to pick out enough so my son could eat his meal (he didn't eat the rice until today, Monday, AFTER I picked and combed out every onion I could find (it was a nice pile.) I love Wu's, but please please please stop with all the onions... it doesn't make things better... it distracts from how great the rice is. We left hungry. Walked in, dining area was cramped and our waitress was always flustered or in a hurry to attend to other tables. Food was below average, veggies were nice and crisp but I felt that every dish we sampled had way too much cornstarch, the sauces were gelatinous and kept getting little globs with every bite. The chicken in our dishes didn't taste like their freshest batch and my egg drop soup was similar to eating a hot jelly salted soup. The fries were perfect, try those! One of the best American Chinese dishes I have eaten. I arrived to this fast casual authentic New York Chinese take out restaurant for a lunch special. I ordered the orange chicken, which is not on the lunch menu listed, but you can order it. You order at the counter or at the table and it is delivered. I started with hot and sour soup, which others have said was fantastic but it was not because it was thick and gloppy like the thick whites of eggs consistency. It was packed with tofu and plenty of vegetables though. I'll bet their egg drop soup is the same consistency. Better go with the won ton or their house special soup. I ordered the orange chicken which came with just rice. I ordered steamed, and it was a long grain Asian type rice, nothing fragrant like jasmine, but it was perfectly cooked with individual grains separated. The orange chicken was crispy, sweet (I know a big complaint about American Chinese), but sour, savory, and mildly spicy. There were pieces of orange and orange peel in it. This is white meat chicken. This dish tasted just like PF Changs version and was excellent tasting. I could taste every subtle flavor in the sauce. The menu is huge here and they have 7 Mei Fun dishes, which are like Singapore street noodles. They are rice noodles stirfried in curry and other versions. Next time, I'm going to try the Spicy Mala chicken, which is also known as Schiuen chicken made with peppercorns. I know one thing: what ever I get here will be tasty. read more

The only thing that prevented me from giving them '5stars' was the fact that- the 'Mei Fun' I ordered wasn't AS favorable as I hoped. And I understand that everyone cooks differently- but, the 'seasoning' wasn't hitting the spot like previous orders I've made with other companies. But- I guess- I've had it 'more Americanized'. I started eating wu's kitchen back in July 2021 and thought I had finally found the best Chinese food restaurant since it's hard to find one. However after the third time ordering it, something has changed and not sure if it's the chef or their ingredients but the chicken wings started to get smaller and crispier leaving hardly any meat to enjoy but my biggest complaint is the fried rice. It used to have flavor and it was really fried rice, now it's a bland taste and mushy with no color. I put soy sauce to help it but still has that bland mushy taste that's disappointing. read more

I am not a vegetarian, but I think Wu's could turn me into one! they do veggies RIGHT! crisp tender and lots of variety. I find myself passing up my previous faves like general tso's and sesame chicken and ordering shrimp and broccoli or veggie chow mein. the veggies in their dishes are not overcooked and mushy like some Asian restaurants. and they aren't coated with a too heavy, too goopy sauce either. veggie chow mein was only 3.50 I think and had lots if bok choi, onions, carrots, broccoli and zucchini if I remember right. Was okay but far from the best Chinese cuisine I have had. I got the sesame chicken which was very dry and had the texture of Jerky. The taste was fine but just seemed like the chicken had sat there for a while before being prepared. I also got the mala chicken which was okay as well just lacking in heat as it was supposed to be spicy. The one thing I would say was pretty good was their ragoons which were soft and warm and had a really good filling in them. How do I do half a star? On a 1-5 it's definitely a 3.5. We've gotten take out from here about half a dozen times now. The first time was really good. Second time wasn't as good, but we still liked it, then it went down a bit every time after that. I don't know if there's just a particular cook who's better than others, or if we just caught them on a bad day. I would say this place is good. Not great, not bad, just pretty average. I called because I had just a couple of questions (due to lack of info on the online menu) but could not understand the employee's reply due to their heavy accent. When I told her I could not understand her, repeatedly, she hung up on me. I called back and and was told VERY RUDELY they were too busy to answer my question!! What a way to speak to customers!! 2.5 stars. The food in general is OK, but the fried rice is rather plain. I had the pork with vegetables, and it was OK. The ambiance is that of a fast food restaurant, though. You order and pre-pay at the counter, then go find your table and wait for them to announce when you can pick up your food back at the counter. I made the mistake of leaving a tip when I made my order. They don't do any personal service to warrant a tip. The food is served in plastic, covered containers, even if you tell them you are dining in, and the utensils are plastic, so this isn't the place to go out to dinner on a date or if you want to be served by a waiter/waitress. I don't like my hot food in plastic containers because I imagine the plastic is melting into the food. I was expecting real dishes, real utensils, and a waiter or waitress. This is the Chinese equivalent of Taco Bell, and as long as you go in with that understanding, then I suppose you'll be satisfied. For a few dollars more you can get much nicer dining. I will most probably never come back to this restaurant because it is quite unremarkable, even less so. read more
