This is the real deal from Taiwan, not a knockoff -- legit roots as one of Taiwan's original bubble tea chains. You're lucky Porter Ranch peeps to have this Taiwan original in your neighborhood. Wushiland started as a small tea shop in Tainan, Taiwan back in 1994, and grew into one of Taiwan's bigger bubble tea chains before expanding to the US and a handful of other countries. Ordered a milk tea from the tablet at the counter -- barely any interaction with a person, which was fine by me. Got the original Taiwanese boba milk tea. I'm not really a boba person normally, but I liked this one -- the chew on the boba was good, and I appreciated being able to pick my own sweetness level. These drinks can pack in almost as much sugar as a soda, so having that control is nice if you're trying to be a little more mindful. If you're deciding what to get, their classic Taiwanese milk tea is the #1 best seller, made with black tea and non-dairy cream. The roasted oolong milk tea is another favorite, with a bold, toasty flavor. Parking was easy since it's in a shopping center with a decent-sized lot. It's located in the giant shopping center that contains everything you need to do your errands here in Porter Ranch. It's across the street from Shepherd Church. I painted the picture, you must know what's coming --- they were open during the 4th of July Fireworks celebration thrown and hosted by Shepherd! So convenient. And so helpful because this family, and extended family, would rather chug boba drinks than soda. The staff was awesomely patient considering there were lines and lines and they were running out of ingredients. I wanted to check out Wushiland because apparently they don't skimp out on their toppings and you know what, I found that to be true ~ Orderered the Green Tea Oat Taro Latte less sugar w / QQube + Taro Latte less sugar w/ QQube. They packed the toppings into both drinks and the less sweetened versions worked well with the Taro because that provided a bit of sweetness as well. You order on a kiosk (there are 2), the location has a few tables and everything was neat and clean. They also have a restroom, lots of parking. Staff were also friendly and service was prompt. They are on the more traditional tea base spectrum of boba. I described it to my family as more "gourmet" because of their limited menu and high quality taste. They did not have the popular mango slush that other places have. Instead we opted for the mango ice cream tea and it did not disappoint! I initially wasn't a fan of wushi when I visited the arcadia location, but since it opened in the valley, I've found that I quite like their refreshing teas, the variety, soft and chewy boba, and decent prices! This place does NOT skimp on the toppings lol. It consistently fills almost half the cup so I have to ask for less toppings. Grand opening was popping, and their yogurt and grapefruit GTs are yummy. I always get 50% sweetness w less ice, and they still fill it to the top. This time got: - Jasmine Green Tea w mini boba $5.29, less topping. Worth! Strong floral tones - Four Seasons Tea w coconut jelly, boba, and mini boba $5.29: lighter tea flavor but still good! I like that you can get combo toppings for the price of 1. With the coconut jelly, it def made the drink sweeter, so I'll prob get 25% sweetness next time. Parking is plentiful. Now that it has been half a year I was hoping customer service would get better once staff had more experience. But sadly, that hasn't been the case. Some things that has happened when I've gone in or called: - i was the only person in line and the girl at the register greeted me and asked me to give her a second to finish up something she was doing on the register. But after she was done she turned around and started helping her coworker (who didn't seem to need help nor asked for it) before she returned to helping me. This all took up to 2 mins. I've worked in the food industry, both restaurant and cafes, and it has always been priority to help your customers. I'm a pretty patient person since I've been in this position but that was not okay esp since I was the only customer. - I ordered a drink with boba and later was told they had ran out. They did not offer me something else and when i asked for a refund for it they told me they didn't know how to do that ... i let this slide since it was only a few days into the grand opening. - the most recent encounter was I called to order a travel box and the person who answered the phone just said "hello" and mumbled something. Which made me feel like I got the wrong number. I had to ask if this was Wushiland. Another thing that is pretty standard across the industry... answer the phone with your business name. - On this same call for the travel box, I was told "you can order it through the app" which I said I tried and couldn't find a way to do that. Then the person on the phone said hold on let me try. 3 mins later, she said she couldn't find it either and had never had the app so had to download it. so I ask if I could just order on the phone. And she says no, unfortunately we don't take orders over the phone even for a travel box. Again, worked at a cafe, very common to order travelers over the phone for pick up at a later date. This was very inconvenient since I don't live in porter ranch and was hoping to make the order over the phone so I can pick it up later. But instead of trying to figure out a solution with me (like "let me ask my supervisor") she just said "yeah, I know. Sorry for the inconvenience." But all this is to say, the customer service needs a lot of work. I'm pretty disappointed and if you don't take phone orders, okay fine, but then make sure it works on your app, esp if your staff is telling customers it's on the app and this is a new thing you're advertising for business. This is such a cute spot. My friend spotted a sign for it on our way to lunch and figured we'd stop by. Unfortunately, we were informed that their matcha was discontinued but they had plenty of other drinks. There's an option to order at the kiosk or with a cashier. The cashier was so sweet and patient. I also appreciated that we were able to sample some of the drinks. We decided on the four season tea with mango sorbet at half sweetness and coconut jelly. We were super excited to try this place for the first time but super bummed that they didn't have what I wanted which was UJI Matcha latte. The cashier at the front said they ran out of matcha but the girl behind her said they had enough for one more cup...but they didn't offer it to me...I had asked and clarified, "so there is no matcha?" She said no because there's a shortage. I asked when they're getting it back and she said a month.. When it came to pay, she asked me if we had a membership and I said no. I wish she explained it because I would've done it before I paid. Wushiland is the best quality tea place in Simi Valley, great to see a location here. Enjoyed the jasmine tea which had a nice aroma and not bitter, a sign of properly brewed green tea. The pearls were good quality too and firm. They also have party size containers which are a great idea and can serve several people. Looking forward to try more of the big selection here. Happy to have good tea house nearby! They have many drinks to choose. They have some seating inside and you can order either at the front or at the kiosk. The tea house is very bright and modern looking. Staff is very helpful with so many choices and service was fast. We tried the Roasted Oolong with boba and ice cream. You can really taste the Oolong tea, and the boba was soft and chewy. Paired with ice cream, it was so good! We also tried the Uji matcha latte macchiato. Been to Wushiland a number of times and love it, but have always had to go to the Arcadia mall to get it. So so happy there is now one in Porter Ranch near me. Maybe I should not be happy, too much of a good thing you know? When you walk in there is a single kiosk to order from, I believe they should have more than one. There is a screen on the front counter, but was not sure you could actually order from there, I would hope so, or could lead to lines, but worth it, just a suggestion. The interior is bright and clean and looks like a great spot to hang and enjoy some drinks. We got ours to go this time. Love the flavors, options, teas are amazing, milk tea is perfect, but one particular thing I love that many other boba spots dropped is their mini boba, hard to find, but a great option to have, Wushiland has an advantage having them. FINALLYYYYYY!! I've been waiting for this to open lol! If you know me, you know how much I love my Boba and trying new boba spots!! This is actually a chain I'm familiar with and that I love but the other locations are so far! So happy they finally opened one in the area. They currently have their soft opening but they have definitely perfected it. I almost forgot how good they were! Parking lot is huge since it's in the porter ranch shopping center near the Ralph's. It's also in the not so busy side of the lot so there is a lot of parking. Super roomy inside and love the smell! Idk if it's just because it's brand new but it smells like a new car inside lol! They have one self order kiosk which I feel like they could probably use more but maybe they are testing the waters first. We used it and had no issues other than trying to back out of the checkout window. We were testing to see if the discount applied (for soft opening only, 10% discount) and it did! However we didn't finish ordered and it wouldn't let us go back to add more to our cart. Only option was to checkout or clear cart lol. Other than that little bug, we ordered easily and everything was easy to find on the menu. Drinks came out super quick as well and the thing that I LOVE about this boba chain is their generous amount of boba pearls. I usually like to ask for extra in my drink but this one doesn't need it at all. They give the perfect amount (to me lol). The tea quality is very high and super delicious. You can customize the sweetness and just about everything about your drink which makes it great for everyone. Love the chewiness of the pearls and my Earl Grey Milk Tea at 70% sweetness was perfect. I'm so glad Wushiland opened a location in the Valley! This was my first time checking out this new location, and I'm definitely happy to have them nearby. The store is small and cozy, but they have a few tables where you can sit and hang out. My favorite drink so far is probably the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea. You can customize the sugar and ice levels, but what I love the most is that you can also adjust the tea strength! You can add up to 3 extra shots of tea for FREE to make your drink stronger. Wow! Not many places offer that, especially for free. The portions are generous, and they're very generous with the toppings too. They have self-order kiosks, which makes ordering quick and easy. The employees were also very nice, fast, and helpful. Just a little heads-up: they don't accept cash here, only cards. One thing I hope they'll improve is the sunlight. During the afternoon, the sun shines directly through the glass and makes the inside pretty bright and hot. Hopefully they can add window tint or thicker blinds to make it more comfortable.
