Came on a Friday evening for dinner. It wasn't too crowded just yet, so we were seated immediately. Casual ambiance/decor. Quick service. Good food! We ordered: - Black Truffle & Pork Xiao Long Bao - Chicken Xiao Long Bao - Boiled Dumpling w/ Shrimp, Egg, Chive, & Wood Ear Mushrooms - Green Onion Pancakes - Ginger Scallion Noodles Everything was good, but stand outs were the noodles and both xiao long baos! We'd come back just for those lol. Everything felt pretty reasonably priced too. Will def be back.

Lunchtime drop-in. Came in at noon and got seated right away. The staff was attentive and set up the table right away. Ordered won ton soup and 8 pc dumplings. The soup came out and I had read mixed reviews. It has a good flavor, hot enough and plenty of wontons. Very good and definitely shareable but I ate most of it myself. The dumplings came out about 10-15 mins later and they were hot and had good flavor. I took half of my food to go for later. I really enjoyed my solo lunch and the only reason it wasn't a 5 star was because it was a little pricey (about $36 w tip) Would come back to try other items though.

We visited Dumpling Hours after seeing a few recommendations for it on TikTok, and the food was delicious!! It's located on Lakeshore. Decent amount of street parking; we came for an early Saturday dinner and there was no wait. What we ordered: + Pan Fried Pork Buns ($15) (5/5): The best thing tbh!! Flavorful broth and fun texture from the buns being pan-fried. The pork kept it's moisture well! + Pork Xiao Long Bao ($16/8pc) (4/5): Good, but not extraordinary. We actually got the spicy version of it too and I liked it slightly more since it felt a bit more flavorful. + String Beans w/ Garlic Sauce ($14) (4/5): I liked this! Pricy for it's portion tbh but it was filling + Ginger & Scalion Noodles ($15) (5/5): SO GOOD! Savory and addicting + Zha Jiang Noodles ($16) (3/5): A biiiit dry. I'd probably skip this next time + Siu Mai ($11/6pc) (3/5): This was also meh. It didn't taste as good as it does at dim sum restaurants lol Service was alright. The food came out quickly but it was soo difficult flagging them down when I feel like it shouldn't have been considering how small the restaurant was lol. Payment is done at the cash register!

First time and very tasty. Made sure no peanuts in any of our dishes. You can watch them make the dumplings. Parking was tight on Saturday afternoon but will come back again.

my all time favorite place for dumplings, the ambiance is chill good music and everyone there is super nice. The server comes right away to take your order and food takes less than 10 min to come and it's pipping hot! I loveddd the truffle dumplings and the noodles I went twice to try different things and it never disappointed. I will keep coming back the server Erik really accommodated me bc I ordered the wrong noodles and still took it back and got me the correct ones I was willing to pay but they insisted on getting the correct ones :)!

This place exceeded my expectations. Service was honestly unbelievable. As soon as my husband and I stepped foot in the restaurant, a waiter pointed to a table. No greeting; no time to waste with pleasantries, lol. I think they kept their eye on us like a hawk because anytime we needed something, they were always a step ahead of us! Overall, food was so good. Very flavorful. We really enjoyed the chicken wings, the beef noodle soup, and the XLBs! I think I was disappointed by the spicy wontons, but they weren't bad. Will be back again.

No wait on a Thursday at 11:30. I had appt in the area and had lunch with two friends. First glance at the menu, was how crazy expensive it was for everything. We all shared the pork xlb which were good but the wrapper skin was on the thick side. The crab and pork xlb were plump but again the wrapper on the thick side. The juicy pan fried pork dumplings were good but wish they were bigger. The zha jiang noodles were good, not too sweet. The cucumber with crushed garlic had no taste to them. Good thing their hot chili sauce is good. Service was ok, they came to refill water when we finished meal. Street parking

Their XLB does not beat Din Tai Fung's but it's still tasty and definitely scratches the itch. I ordered the sesame chili oil wontons, spicy XLB, pork braised noodles, and garlic scallion noodles. My favorites would be the two noodle dishes I ordered and may come back for just those. Fast service as well which I appreciated!

I was excited when my husband told me that they opened a new location in Oakland on Lakeshore. I've been to their other location in Walnut Creek and loved it. We decided to stop by (without a reservation) to celebrate Father's Day around noon, and I was surprised that there wasn't a line. I really liked the simple decor and how clean it was inside. We were lucky that there was a table next to the window. I liked how you can order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table because you can take your time ordering. We ordered 5 dishes. The two noodle dishes were overcooked and were extremely soft. The chili sauce for the pork wonton and jellyfish salad wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The best dish was the pan fried pork bun. A bit disappointed with the quality of food, especially given how each dish was over $10. Unfortunately, this place is a no for me.

I love dumplings... everything I got was so good. The restaurant was very new and clean, I loved the fun colors and the furniture, super casual dining. You can order on your phone! Here are the things I tried: Pan fried pork buns: 10/10 seriously soooo juicy perfectly flavored Pork xiao long bao: 10/10 also super juicy Shrimp pork and vegetable potsticker: 9/10 very crispy Green onion pancakes: 8/10 Cucumber salad: 8/10 very fresh and light Parking here is a little tough but not impossible. I came on a a Friday for lunch and there was a lot of seating available.

Craving dumplings, we decided to try this place and were not disappointed. We ordered the juicy pan-fried pork buns, siu mai, pork xiao long bao, and dan dan noodles. Everything was delicious, but the pan-fried pork buns were my favorite, perfectly crispy on the outside with an incredibly juicy filling. Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

I was worried it might be one of those gimmicky spots with overpriced, low-quality food, but I was totally wrong. Upon entering, you can tell this is the kind of restaurant where people host weddings, birthdays, and special events. They even have private rooms you can book with karaoke! They also showcase their crabs and lobsters in tanks at the front, which looked incredibly large and fresh. Similar to another reviewer's comment, there wasn't a hostess available when we walked in, but someone came by quickly and seated us after only a couple of minutes. We were so happy to be seated right by the window, though honestly, most perimeter seats seem to have a great view. We enjoyed our meal as the sun set, and I'd highly recommend arriving or making a reservation about an hour before sunset to fully enjoy the vibe. They have a massive menu with plenty of traditional Southern-style Chinese dishes and dim sum options, so it took us about 10 minutes to finally decide what to order. I'll start with the mentaiko seafood fried rice, which was something I hadn't tried before, but I love anything mentaiko. The fried rice came out as a generous family-style portion. It wasn't bad, but I do think it could have used more seasoning - like a lot more seasoning. More mentaiko, more seafood, and stronger salty-savory flavors would have done the dish justice. As is, it's probably a good option if you're sharing with a young child. The crab crystal dumplings were a nice step up from traditional har gow, which I enjoyed. The salt and pepper fried tofu was exactly what I was hoping for: crunchy and salty on the outside, light on the inside, and not too filling. The squid and green beans from the specials menu were a bit of a gamble, but they turned out delicious. I'd definitely order that dish again. We also noticed they have a weekly specials menu that changes every day, and we're already planning to come back--specifically on Thursday because that menu looks delicious. Overall, Hong Kong East Ocean exceeded my expectations. The ambience and view were breathtaking, the service was efficient, and the food was delicious. I know some people mentioned the pricing being high, but I actually thought it was very reasonable for what it is. Compared to Chinese restaurants in downtown Berkeley, you're paying about the same, but the food is better and the view is unmatched.

Hence why it contributed to my surprising total cost coming out to be $24 for this + only 3 other single items I got. Their steamed dumplings are also about 25% larger than your typical dim sum dumpling. I tried the round and crescent moon shaped ones. Both had a good ratio of filling, the dumpling skin was not too chewy, and tasted pretty good too. The fried sesame ball was also sizable, but really doughy and not my favorite. However, the last time I had shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice was at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco near my job in the Civic Center area over 12 years ago. Eats: shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice and a pot of hot tea. Drizzled with some soy sauce, my dish was delicious. The hot tea was perfect, flavorful and soothing when I drank about 5 cups.
