Great, friendly, timely service. Reasonably priced. I had gone to Sam for my Range Rover Sport (2007) when we started to have alternator issues. Sorry if I didn't spell that correctly I am not a gear head. Anyway, he accurately identified the problem but my Wife wanted to play it safe and go to the Land Rover in Encino to get it fixed. A month later our brake light came on and we decided to take it to Sam since his initial identification on the alternator was correct. He diagnosed the issue quickly, got the new parts next day and installed them for a reasonable price. A few days later, the brakes were squealing. Not only did Sam have me bring the Range in but he got in and drove the street with me to get a read on things. So, I give it 5 stars. read more

I went to Xpert based on several recommendations. If you need an oil change (no synthetic), new brakes, new hoses or a new timing belt Sam's team does a good job. If you give them a list of things you want done to your car, get ready to be en guarde. I specified my make, model and year and gave him a list, which detailed everything I wanted done to my car. They gave me a quote and confirmed everything would be available to install when I dropped my car off on the specified date. I dropped my car off and was given the expectation it would take a day to complete the work. This was no problem. He called me later in the afternoon and said it was ready to be picked up around 5pm. I got there around 5:30pm, paid for the work and discovered that I paid for services that were not completed. They didn't rotate my tires, replace the water pump, use synthetic oil, nor change one of my belts. I really expected that it was going to be easy since I gave him a list and we discussed it in person. If they would have called me and said they needed more time, it would never have been a problem because I have access to another car. However, since I discovered these failings on my own and had to bring my car back, I was annoyed. It wasted my time, not to mention he charged me additional for the water pump, of which was included in his original quote. It's true, Sam is a nice guy and very understanding. He did his best to correct the wrong, but I only paid the extra because I wanted to get on with my life not because I agreed with his reasoning. read more

I took my car to Sam and he quoted a price that was much much lower than the dealer. He also told me I did not have to change the front brakes yet. It is rare to find an honest mechanic these days. My 1997 Toyota 4Runner has close to 230,000 miles on it and has been a good car for me but it needed routine maintenance along with some preventative maintenance and I needed to find a good local mechanic in the Burbank area because the dealer prices were just to expensive for my budget. I found Xpert Auto from all the good reviews it had received here on Yelp so I gave the shop a try and I was very happy with their work. I found Sam the owner to be someone that cares about his customers. I knew what had to be done with the car and he gave me a fair estimate and the final bill was his estimated price. I do recommend Xpert Auto Repair in Burbank for car repair. Recently my 4Runner blew a head gasket and I decided to do a complete engine rebuilt instead of buying a new car. Sam from Xpert Auto rebuild my engine and it is as good as new. It was the right decision for me to make. I still do love my old 4Runner and I get a lot of compliments on it still. I guess because it is a 4 wheel drive truck and it was designed that way from the factory rather than a today's modern SUV's which are designed for city driving. read more

I logged onto Yelp for the first time in a long time specifically to write this review. Sam was a great mechanic. I came to him after I read the reviews here (thinking they were too good to be true) because I had previous problems with untrustworthy or incompetent auto shops... This time around, I needed an oil leak fixed. The problem resided with the intake manifolds but couldn't be specifically diagnosed until work was done. The gaskets were replaced, oil changed, etc etc... $570 later, it still leaked. This was because my car is older, and ultimately, Sam realized the lower intake manifold was worn and sadly impossible to replace with a new part, as it is no longer manufactured. (He advised against buying this used). Because the car still leaked, I came back a week later and he gave me a total refund. I couldn't believe it! I swear that was the coolest thing a mechanic has ever done. Supreme integrity and I will definitely be back there to give him my business... I only recommend you do the same. read more
