Found through Yelp and the reviews were correct! The food was flavorful, fresh, and plentiful. We ordered many Tapas and had a chance to savor so many items. The service was wonderful -- from Sangria to Tapas and desserts! The clean and fresh decor and overall ambiance was wonderful. Food came quickly, and prompted quick eating --often forgot to take pictures of each item --LOL. I would strongly recommend a visit and I plan to return one day soon.

Omg this place was so delicious! The food surpassed my expectations! Service was okay. Cozy vibes. We ordered tapas to share. The chorizo was very tasty. The potatoes were so exceptional. We couldn't stop munching on them. So crispy! Prawns were great and the flan dessert was not too sweet. I'd love to come back and try the other tapas.

Adorable little spot. Came for dinner on a Tuesday night with my friend, and it was quaint. The food was delicious. We ordered a few appetizers and dessert, and it was enough to fill us up. The service was great, too. Would love to come back to try their entrees.

Had a party at Xunta, and they were great. Food is awesome. Service was helpful and cheerful. And the owner Alfonso was a great host. Highly recommended!

Revisited after a few years. The food in question is still great and the advantage of tapas, having small dishes one can taste and share, allows one to try a good amount of things on the menu. I hope I get back soon.

Terrific menu with many tapas choices available in small plates or larger meal-sized portions. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I love how you could order online, that's a plus. The lady that called me to verify sounded really nice. The food is so good. Very flavorful. I ordered the half chicken and half pork rib combo with rice and black beans and it was amazing. Hit the spot for sure. The pork rib is meaty and big. Very juicy. The garlic shrimp is actual sauce not just a bunch of shrimp swimming around in oil and minced garlic. Its a buttery sauce. I recommend buying a loaf a bread for dipping. The serving size is enough for a family of 3 and left overs for the next day for sure. Definitely adding to my list of local dinner eats. Thank you for your hospitality.

When I ordered, it said 45-60 minutes for the food to be prepared (as a standard message), and then told me delivery would take 45-60 minutes. Does that mean I'm waiting 90+ minutes for food? Nope, it came to the door in 40 minutes tops. Great job. As for the food: We've got the meats! I can say that most of the meat was a bit overdone, but it was made fresh and then delivered, so that will keep the meat cooking and I fully acknowledge that. The sausage was excellent. The wings were skimpy and not really worth it. The chicken and steak were both flat and thus both faster to cook. Meat overall was a bit chewy and tough, but again, that's upon delivery. I really liked the flavor, and they did include a nice spicy hot sauce at my request. Verdict: Will need to go back in person to try this out!

Delicious meal here at the relocated and reimagined Don Pepe. They still have lots of seafood, as…read morewell as some Greek and Mediterranean dishes in addition to Portuguese. We started with the cucumber, pistachio, and yogurt, with harissa and sesame seeds. Like a very creative and refreshing Mediterranean pickle. Delish. We also got the Mediterranean salad. It was much more interesting than your typical Greek salad. Excellent feta, good cucumbers and tomato, and nice little pita chip slivers. They also start you with very good bread with olive oil and some olives. For our entrées we got Chilean Seabass, Branzino fillet, and Mariscada, which is a big shellfish stew. While it's not indicated on the menu, all entrées come with saffron rice, sautéed vegetables... And their homemade potato chips. The person who got the Mariscada was so happy. It had every kind of fresh shellfish and really was enough for two people. I really enjoyed the Branzino fillet, which came with a lemon caper sauce. It was huge and very delicious, I had to give some pieces away. The Chilean Seabass is the most expensive, at $55. For me, I felt that I have had better Seabass and I preferred my $36 branzino. But the person who ordered it was thrilled and thought it was amazing, and gets it every time here. I loved the saffron rice, and the homemade potato chips. I didn't eat the sautéed vegetables (there was just too much food everywhere!). But the person who tried them thought they were extremely delicious. Overall, this is a great place for sharing, with tons of food. And the cucumber, harissa yogurt, pistachio and sesame seed appetizer showed that they are innovating and not just doing your parent's Don Pepe. Oliver was also a super server as was everyone else on the team. And we enjoyed the patio... though I must say that being over Route 46 traffic is not the most atmospheric, and I wish the patio was on the other side! But who can complain with all this yummy food? Looking forward to coming back here next time I'm in New Jersey.

We finally tried Olivo and expected more after getting mixed reviews from others that had visited…read more The renovation is amazing and maybe this is why I expected the food to be more elevated. It seems that the food tasted the same but presented & plated differently. I asked the waiter if the Chef remained from the previous establishment and he confirmed; this is why the food tasted familiar. I'm not sure if I'd return and would say my overall experience was just, OK. Arancini: Arborio rice was bland & cold Clams Casino: Good, but the mashed potato did not pair well Mariscada Red Sauce: Good, tiny little shrimp & obnoxiously large calamari rings. Prime porter House: Just Ok not prime but rather choice and they offer no sauces, presentation needs work.

The only thing I don't understand is why they miked the guitar in a smallish restaurant so Smartwatches kept flashed "louder than 90dB" warnings. It really wasn't necessary. But you go to a restaurant for the food. And my food was a 2 with the wind behind it. I had the Chicken Extremena, which is chicken filets with onions, red peppers, potatoes and Spanish sausage. Yes, all those ingredients were in the dish. It was too salty although it did have a bit of a kick. All in all, the ingredients didn't blend well, it sort of seemed like they were thrown together and doused in a generic . A friend had the Veal Corunesa, which is veal and mushrooms sauteed in brandy sauce. She stated that a fine piece of veal was cut into little pieces, overcooked and swimming in brandy sauce. Now, the people who ordered the pan fried filet of fish and the pork chops had good meals. But the chef should be able to do something other than panfry and broil. Last point, I had a chocolate brownie with walnuts and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I am know for my proclivity to eat anything chocolate. I took a bite of a dry brownie and ate the vanilla ice cream. I heard the tiramisu was good. But I didn't have the tiramisa. Service was prompt, surroundings pleasant. So here's the deal. The quality of the food was too erratic to be three stars. The entertainment was very pleasant, so averaging a 4 + 2 equals 3. I have no desire to go back and try again. There are so many good Spanish restaurants in Essex County even outside of the Ironbound that going here for a dinner just seems to be a waste.

It's a very casual, cafeteria-style spot with a semi-open kitchen, but don't let the simplicity fool you -- the food is incredible and the staff here is friendly and patient. The highlight of the experience is the small buffet that features a variety of freshly-made Latin cuisine -- including pulled pork, chicken and beef stews, and other traditional Latin entrees and sides. You can build your own plate by selecting one or more entrees and sides - which are priced accordingly. As a 'gringo' who wasn't entirely sure what everything was, I really appreciated them taking the extra time to explain all the different options and give me their honest recommendations. The counterstaff is bilingual and were pretty patient with my elementary school level Spanish vocabulary and grammar. I ended up going with the pulled pork platter with two sides ($7) and it was terrific -- the perfectly seasoned and tender pork, black beans and rice, and macaroni salad were delicious and very filling. You can tell they use fresh ingredients, and the portions are very generous for the price. If you're looking for authentic, home-style Latino food in a laid-back setting, this is the spot! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Sazon Latino is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Sazon Latino offers free off-street parking in a small lot behind the restaurant and there's plenty of free on-street parking on Main Street.
