I was finally able to go here as I have been looking for real shawarma that's cooked vertically and sliced thinly. They have the vertical, so that was cool. It's very clean and organized inside. I was greated immediately by a friendly young lady. I let her know it was my first time so she was giving me details about what's popular. I man (assumming part of the ownership) came over and explained even more. The conversation was great as you can tell he has pride in his food. I ended up getting the Mixed Shawarma plate with all salad, a side of falafel and the cake they have. I knew I couldn't eat it all of this food, but I wanted to sample as they are far from where I live. Chicken shawarma with the garlic sauce is my favorite. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. :( Only because it lacked a little flavor and wasn't sliced thin. I also had too many hard peices. The beef was great! I usually never get the beef solely because the chicken is usually just better in all shawarma wraps! The hummus was great .. very smooth with no grainy parts. The pita was hard as a rock, so I just bypassed it. Now, my poor salad. I did not get rice and asked for ALL salad. When I got back to my hotel it looked underdressed. I called because I thought maybe they forgot it, but I was told they tossed it for me which is very nice. When I went to try it I tasted nothing but meat drippings. :( Bummed about that because the salad was beautiful, but I did not get to really experience it. Maybe she thought it was tossed, but it wasn't which is why I called before touching it. It was pretty but looked undressed. The falafels are hands down THE BEST ever! Now those, I could eat and re-heat. It will be my go to if I return. The Cake was yummy but was a little hard. I was given the edge slice. However, they wrote a personalized note on the box which I thought was super sweet. All in all, I will go back sometime. I wish the owner prepared my plate. Our first time going there tonight. The food was really great. We had the vegetarian plate, beef skewer, and three different baklavas. It was all delicious. For this being a lunch special the plate was very well full and exceeded my expectations. Hummus and pita bread were amazing The spicy chicken as a spice lover had a good spice without taking away from the flavor of the chicken as well as the chicken being very tender. 3/12/24 Hot and New! Chicken kebab sandwich with garlic sauce on the side & falafels ordered. He said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes! I went to pick up the order, said my name & he said the wrong order. Maybe, more than 1 Ashley? Said my order and it was almost made. Waited. Sounded like Mediterranean music playing. Calm. Safe, clean & practiced. Booth seating. Received order a little bit later. At least it's made fresh! Nice worker & he was happy to offer sauce when it was almost ready. I asked for spicy sauce. He got it & handed it over with well wishes! Shocked! Checked the bag and all that was in there was falafels. Worker notified and I had to go back in to get the entire order paid for. I went back and waited in line. Looked at the receipt. I ordered the chicken kebab sandwich and the receipt said chicken shawarma. Told the worker and he made the right one. Apologized too along with giving baklava for free. Also, the wrong one was in the bag hiding. He showed me and was happy to make the right one too! More to share! Thank you! EXCELLENT FOOD!!!!!! This is now the go to spot for hubby and myself. Their food was so tasty and scrumptious! I ordered the chicken kebab plate, with an appetizer of falafel and neither of those dishes disappointed. Their marinade reminded me of my father's kebab marinade, so I felt like I was eating the food my father made when I was younger. The restaurant was spotless, staff were extremely friendly, and the music playing in the background was excellent. I often stay at the Courtyard across the street, and regularly seek out healthy food options when I'm in town. Yafa Grill opened up within walking distance, and the food is just incredible. I'm rooting for their success because I hope to be able to get their food every time I'm in town. Note for the business: your opportunity for improvement is to ditch the styrofoam to-go containers. Folks that seek healthy food are repelled by styrofoam. I suggest switching to a modern alternative. I got the Chicken Kabab Dinner two nights in a row. Loved it!
