I finally made my way to YAFO and it lived up to the hype. I got a bowl with chicken, cauliflower, cucumber, white rice, quinoa salad, and some other stuff. The chicken was juicy and had great flavor. Everything was fresh and they give so huge portions so I think it is worth the money spent. This place is GREAT ! We went on a Sunday night for dinner, around 8pm. It wasn't a very busy time. Their staff was knowledgeable about the ingredients. It was very quick and delicious. Ample space to sit. So many toppings to choose from. It's a bit expensive than chipotle but totally worth every dollar you pay. Their garlic sauce, "Toum", is something you shouldn't miss. It's kept by the forks and spoons. My bowl was ~ $15 and I could eat it for two meals. So, there you go - it's cheaper than chipotle. I would definitely go back. read more

Good food, questionable ethics. Just went in to get a gift card, at checkout it asked if we wanted to add a tip, we indicated no. When ready to pay the bill it showed five dollars added for a tip. We questioned it, clarified we did not want to pay a tip for a gift car, he adjusted to take tip out then he was not happy and not good assistance following. This location has terrible customer service. I was treated very poorly while purchasing my order based off this location not accepting $50 bills (which is not posted anywhere in the establishment). I walked over to Harris Teeter to get change, and when I came back in I was ignored by the manager and employee at the register as they continued to check out other customers in line while my order sat right behind them. This place used to be good, but the quality has gone down. Today I had the humus and tabbouleh. The humus was ok, but the tabbouleh was stale with a chewy unpleasant texture. The last 3 times I've been in I've been disappointed. Also, I used to get their sauces to enhance the food, but when I asked for 3 sauces they said they were now charging 25 cents for each sauce. I really loved this meal! I went for lunch and did a salad - I was blown away by all the options to elevate what is normally thought of as "light" to a hearty dish. I actually ended up only eating half and saving the rest for dinner. You can pile your salad with grains and veggies to really make it filling. I did half spinach/kale mix and half couscous as my base, then added hummus and pretty much every topping option they have. Recently they increase the size and I love the seasoning they have inside. Once you dip it in the garlic sauce your life is officially changed. Most recently I took my younger cousins and introduced them to it and they said they will now ask their mom to start taking them consistently. I seriously couldn't believe the options and how HUGE the portions are for the price. Call me a man who likes to have it all, but I love bowls. I like chipotle, KFC bowls, even a good poke Bowl. That being said Middle Eastern/Mediterranean bowls are also right up my alley. Yafo is the best of this last bowl category. The different Items taste fresh and delicious. The selection is varied and the ability to have it as a grain bowl, salad bowl or a combination works out well ( I prefer a combination). The sauces that you have to choose from are also very tasty. The options for protein allow you to easily make it vegetarian. A big plus for them is that I hate hummus, but weirdly like theirs. I like Mediterranean food and this is one of my favorites in the Charlotte area. Got the Crispy Arayes. For those wondering what this dish is, it is beef or lamb, minced with spices. The meat is stuffed, into pita bread. The bread is then grilled or baked until "crispy". I recently ordered this at the Yafo kitchen. It took a really long time to prepare for some reason. That being said, when I took my first bite, I found the meat, to be substantially undercooked -- to the point where I could not eat it. Not sure why it took so long to undercook. I asked a friend who frequents this particular Yafo if he had gotten the Crispy Arayes, and literally, the first comment out of his mouth was "it was under cooked, wasn't it?" Evidently, this is a frequent occurrence. Is this dish supposed to be raw?? I am told that the correct way to prepare this dish is to cook the meat separately, thoroughly, and then add it to the pita and grill it until the pita is crispy. It would appear that the preparation at Yafo is to add the meat, RAW, to the pita, then grill it until the pita is crispy. I would love to know if this was prepared correctly or not, but it does not appear so and this is common occurrence at Yafo on East Blvd in Dilworth. read more

But my issue with them for what I paid especially since my friend had No meat and they are not big on giving generous scoops of items on your wrap , bowl etc its pricy. I work near this location and it has become a habit. I sometimes order via doordash or order online and pick up but the food and service remains the same. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff are pleasant.
