Wow! This place is awesome. Large menu, great variety and a bunch of different options. We have to come back to try more! After scanning the menu for a couple minutes and letting several people behind of us go ahead, we finally decided on our dinner. We ordered the Israeli Hot Chicken and a Build Your Own - Grain Bowl. The Israeli Hot Chicken was a unique take on a chicken sandwich. The chicken was large, crunchy and moist. When you think of a Hot Chicken sandwich you think of a wet saucy filet, but this was dry and the spices were deceivingly hot. It came with a choice of sides, I got the Brussels with Dates and mixed the Cauliflower with Tahini. Those were some of the tastiest vegetables I've ever had. Our Build Your Own Bowl was loaded and topped with Falafel. This was a super large portion that we had to take home and eat for the next couple of days. We also got an additional side of the Greek Yogurt Mac & Cheese. The Mac was so creamy and cheesy, it's worth going back for just to get that. I love this place more than words! I like going and filling up on toppings. DoorDash allows for 8 so that is what I usually stick with. I also add more than one protein- usually chicken and falafel. With the side of bread and dips, I can usually make this into two separate meals which is quite a bargain especially considering the taste and quality. I love making up new combinations as well. This place is always consistent, including the staff which are trained well and it is obvious that they are committed. I always tell people that it is the Chipotle of Greek/Middle eastern food and if you're not used to eating it, this is a great place to try things out. read more

I had heard so many great things about Yafo. All kinds of deals, events, and great food. I was incredibly happy to join a team lunch there with some coworkers. We went shortly after they introduced the Israeli hot chicken sandwich, which I was super excited to get. First off, I was able to try so much of the menu for a really decent price. The chicken sandwich came with a side so of course I had to counter the spicy sandwich with some creamy Greek yogurt mac and cheese. Honestly that was probably my favorite thing that I had. I love all kinds of Mac and cheese, so this was something new and different that I enjoyed a lot. The cheese was nice and hot, I loved the taste of the Greek yogurt, and they used bigger shell noodles so it was very filling. The chicken sandwich was incredibly good as well, full of flavor, crunchy breading, a soft bun, and I LOVED the red cabbage slaw on it. When I go back I want to try other things in the menu but it's gonna be very tempting to get something other than that sandwich. And then I also got to mix and match my second side by getting half falafel and half roasted cauliflower w/ tahini. I love when restaurants can be flexible like this because I want to try so many different things all the time. Yuck Kitchen. Not sure what location I ordered from on DoorDash but the food was very nasty. My bowl was cold and mushy and I was wondering why I really wasn't eating it because it was so nasty.( I ended up throwing the whole bowl away) and my boyfriends bowl look like a glob of something thrown together really quickly. My guess is they were closing in about an hour and a half so they just gave us food that's been sitting. We will stick with what we know is always good and that's CAVA. read more

What does Yafo stand for? Well for me, it stands for "your amazing food obsession". Everything here is very flavorful and delicious! My go to is the build your own bowl, starting with a half rice, half spinach base. Then a scoop of hummus and two scoops of tzatziki, I would like to point out that the delicious white sauce is showing up misspelled. Come on auto correct! Alright, so I get the cucumber & tomato, lentils, sumac onions, and tabbouleh, as well as plenty of black olives and feta cheese. Today, being extra hungry, I got both falafel and beef kofta as my proteins AND a side of Greek yogurt Mac & cheese. It's incredibly creamy, and I put a bit of the schug (cilantro & jalapeño) on it, which gives a little extra pop. If you like sweet drinks they usually have 3-4 different kinds of drinks one of them today was mandarin, cardamom and turmeric. Tastes good and turmeric is good for your body, or so I've heard. The ordering system was a little confusing but the staff was more than ready,willing and able to walk me and my buddy through it. Rude service. I typically like the restaurant but this location is rude to their customers. They told us that they didn't have any chicken and it will take 10-15 minutes. So I told them that we will be back and will wait for the chicken. So me and my boyfriend walked around Harris Teeter for 20 minutes. We walked back in and the same girl who spoke to us was clueless to the fact that we just saw her and we're waiting on the rotisserie chicken. It was as if we were in the Twilight Zone. The manager?, said that the rotisserie chicken is reserved for the family of 4 who just called in. Talk about rude and unprofessional. I don't know why they don't 1. Make more rotisserie chicken. 2. Gave the chicken away for people who just called in when we were there first. I definitely won't be coming back to this location. They kept telling me to pick a different entree. If I wanted a different entree, I don't need people who don't remember that me and my bf were just there 20 minutes ago to let me know. What a shame. Came here less than 20 minutes after they opened the doors for lunch, and there was already a full line, which moves quick. The rotisserie chicken was really delicious, juicy and well seasoned, that is going to be my go-to dish, especially since I cannot fully get into the "bowl" craze , as this place seems to feature. The rice imho, was a little over seasoned, but the other sides were great, especially the roasted veggies. Love the free tahini sides for all the dishes. Laffa bread is a high carb treat--if you're a fan of squishy white bread (which I am), this will be good. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, comfortable seating and the staff is great. Their falafel is my favorite and their hummus is the best I've ever had. Sometimes to switch it up I get the Mac and cheese which is SO GOOD. Yafo is truly a treasure and Charlotte is lucky to have them. I have eaten here many times by myself, but wanted to give a plug for their take away group packs. We have ordered these multiple times for work meeting and it is an impressive assortment of food and a great way to get to sample multiple items on the menu at once. Some of the must not miss items on the menu are the mac and cheese, the laffah bread.
