Super delicious food. Went here on an extremely cold day - I rarely eat indoors (still covid aware!) but because of zero degree temps it was what was necessary. Went early on Sat hoping for no crowds near opening and pleased to just have one other table in there. I'm sure more people go for dinner or later lunch. The waitress was extremely kind - I think her name started w an E but can't quite recall. I don't think I've had a server this friendly in like, years. I got a rice bowl w falafel - as a vegan and gluten sensitive eater I was happy w their clearly marked menu. Honestly I could not find a vegan dish to save my life in Walla Walla that wasn't at some super fancy place so I got extra food to go - side of hummus and dolmas. This was my only complaint- the hummus portion was quite small - considering even the finest and tastiest hummus that is homemade (which this was!) is extremely inexpensive to make (I make my own all the time!) so it was like maybe a 1/4 c serving for $10. If you were sharing I think it would go really quickly so you'd need a few more dips to make it work. Otherwise super glad they were open on a very very cold day! First: the cash register woman was kind, pleasant, helpful. Second: The food. The fava beans had great olives. Beans were overcooked, but that could be my preference. Hardly any sauce, and what there was was flavorless. Garlic? oregano? Greek olive oil?? The baklava was old. So old. Old and tired tasting. Ditto the spanakopita. Went during phase 2 for indoor dining. Loved all of the food and flavors, but I was surprised to find the rice was plain, brown rice. If the rice had more flavor and spices, I think my bowl would have been amazing! Portion sizes were massive, and we got two more meals from the leftovers. We walked in about an hour before closing (we hate doing this) on a Saturday night. We hardly had to wait to be seated and provided menus. Our servers were right there with water. Food was served very quickly! And it was all so amazing and clearly fresh, quality food. My husband got the lamb ribs plate, I ordered chicken souvlaki, and our daughter got the gyro plate. It was a tremendous amount of food, and for as much as they piled on the plate, beautifully presented. Our servers were so prompt in checking on us, refilling waters, bringing our check and returning our card - some of the quickest servers I've ever encountered. Top notch service, great food. This was literally the best Greek food I have ever had! The pita bread tasted like it was just freshly baked out of a wood fire, and the meat (chicken, lamb and beef) were all so moist and tender with amazing flavor. The rice was soft and fluffy, and melted in your mouth, and the vinaigrette dressing on the salad was the perfect blend of tang and sweet. The baklava was literally the best I have ever had. I'm heartbroken to have to post a 1-star update. I loved my first experience at Yamas and couldn't wait to take my family there. The opportunity arose when my nephew graduated from WWCC this year. I called the restaurant at 11:54am on a Friday in June to see if I could get reservations that night. The man that answered said he couldn't make reservations because "my manager took the book home" and that I should call back at noon to attempt reservations again. I confirmed with him that he was asking me to call back in 6 minutes. Yes. I called back at 12:30 and a man with a thick Greek accent answered the phone and informed me that due to the anticipated crowds for graduation weekend, they would not be taking reservations. My party of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids ages 8-12) arrived around 11am on Sunday. There were only 2 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. This early on a Sunday it was literally a sea of empty tables and chairs. We were greeted by a male server who informed us that he could not seat us because we did not have reservations. I relayed my conversation with his manager. He still would not seat us. He made a big show of looking around at all the empty tables and still doubled down that because of the booked reservations for later that day, yes - later that day, he could not seat us. I was appalled. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. All seven of us turned around and headed out and spent our money at a competing restaurant down the street. read more

We were in Walla Walla, wine tasting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. One of the wineries recommended we try Yamas and we landed up there. I had the paidakia plate - rosemary and olive oil seasoned lamb ribs. Perfection. We both tried a salad, I had gyro meat on mine, he had greek sausage. Totally delicious. The Greek yogurt for dessert is quite fantastic. We happened to try this restaurant for lunch on our visit to Walla Walla on its opening day, Sunday, September 1, 2019. What a delightful surprise to find a Greek restaurant in a town over run with Mexican restaurants. The decor is clean. Parking is typical for a downtown location, you may get lucky and find a space right outside, or you may have to walk a few blocks. The service was excellent. The food was very tasty and there was a lot of it. I ordered the Paidakia--lamb ribs in a rice bowl. Maybe it contained a little too much rice, but the flavor of the lamb ribs was what made this dish so good. They have two outdoor tables, so if the weather is good you may be able eat al fresco. If you want some great Greek food, try this place out. read more

We ate here on their opening day (9-1-19) for lunch. I was so happy to see a Greek restaurant in Walla Walla right downtown! If I still lived in here, I'd be a regular! The food was fabulous, and there are other items on the menu that I'd like to try. The lamb and beef gyros were very tasty! I also really liked that I could choose my gyros with salad instead of pita bread or rice. The bowl was huge, but I didn't have to force myself to finish. Nope, instead I enjoyed every bite. I think we were talking with the owner at one point, and we were able to practice our one word of Greek that we remembered: "efharisto" (). Found this really good greek restaurant while we were driving through Downtown Walla Walla. We were promptly seated and we ordered the greek fries, chicken souvlaki rice bowl, pork souvlaki wrap and garlic garlic. The chicken souvlaki rice bowl was delicious and filling. Huge portion size of rice but flavorful. The pork souvlaki wrap lacked some seasoning and sauce to it but was good. The greek fries were good but cold. The garlic garlic was delicious. Loved how they cooked the garlic that would fall off as a sauce and blend so well with tzaziki. All in all we did like our meal at this authentic greek restaurant. Unfortunately they have very few servers taking care of customers on a long weekend so they actually forgot to serve us any water. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We had the most delicious meal at Yamas on Wednesday evening! The customer service was fabulous! We wanted for nothing.... We started our dinner with Fried Octopus which was out of this world. So yummy. Then we proceeded to our entrees: the Beef & Lamb Gyro plate and the Pork Sausage plate (both with the Greek Fries which will keep you from ever eating regularly Fries again!!!!!). We had to have a Greek brew so we went with Mythos. Again, very nice, very smooth, very pleased. We took the Greek Baklava to go. Yamas had 2 kinds / we got both! Regular and the Chocolate. We will be diving into our dessert today. One last thought, the over all ambiance was quite pleasant with Greek music playing in the background. Yes, we plan on going back. I went to find somewhere casual to eat out by myself when I first moved to Walla Walla and I found Yamas. I ordered the falafel wrap because I am vegetarian and I fell in love with it. I cannot bring myself to even try anything else because I am always craving the falafel! It is so tender with a perfect sauce ratio. The fries are in the wrap which is such an authentic Greek touch. It's such a great deal for how big it is! The staff is friendly and attentive and there is good energy in the restaurant with all of the evil eyes. I love yamas! read more

We visited this restaurant with family from out of town and we were very disappointed. We had not eaten at Yamas for a couple of years and will not be returning. Our guests were craving Greek food and against our wishes, we agreed to give them a second try. The service was acceptable, but the food was not.
