I am very disappointed to leave this review right now. I have been here a few times in the last few months, and each time has been worse! This USED to be our "go-to" place for date night and everything was always OK. But... One month ago I celeberated my birthday here and it was a mess, in regards to food and service. Tonight I decided to give this restaurant one last shot. To begin, Our server wasn't friendly at all. Very cold and it seemed like she was really over us from the beginning. Next, Nothing is worse then sitting and watching everyone who sat AFTER you get their food first. It almost felt comical because every time food came our way we were so excited that it was ours! Which it wasn't....Every. Single. Time. I don't mind if the kitchen is backed up, just let us know. Once it finally got to us...Food was cold and Lacked taste. Bummer!! Yard house! One of my go too's! It has pretty much everything you need to enjoy yourself. Yummy draft beer, good food with a lot of choices including vegetarian, delicious desserts, TV's, and a good atmosphere over all. It is a little pricey but it's not the worst for the quality of food. They have a good happy hour during lunch and late night HH starting at 10pm with the same options. For alcohol, I think it's a dollar off. So, this is a better happy hour for food I would say! The menu is huge with a lot, a lot of options so, you can pretty much take anyone here even the picky-est of eaters and they can eventually find something they will like. *** If you like truffle, you must try the truffle fries! They're amazing. For appetizer try the ahi nachos! For dessert I recommend the s'mores brownie! it's so good, and totally shareable. *** It's a really big restaurant so, coming here with big parties is definitely not a problem. They have a cute out door area too. The service here is kind of a mess. I feel like since the restaurant is so big it takes awhile for your waiter or waitress to get to your table depending on where you're sitting. I've only ordered from here Too Go once and it wasn't the best, the portions seemed smaller and they messed up my order. I wouldn't recommend it. Overall, Yard house is a pretty awesome go too spot. Had dinner reservation at Open Table for 730 on Saturday. Arrived, ate, good food for chain faire (for example, fire cracker shrimp very tasty and tender). Waitress helpful and attentive, given current service industry standards (may need more help, just a little slow). The experience afterwards I would characterize as awful. Got home to email which said "Yard House cancelled your reservation. Call Yard House if questions," with loss of points, which I did. After three consecutive calls where I was told "manager will be right with you," and on hold for nearly five minutes on each call I gave up and hung up. Summary: food good for chain faire. This is my go to place on Sundays for NFL games. Again when you frequent establishment often you're going to get the good and the bad it's just expected these days. I've had amazing meals and service and I've also had some questionable meals. The sushi stack appetizer is always delicious but occasionally chicken lettuce wraps can be hit or miss and the hamburger sliders the same. If you want a decent overall experience this will do. I love the atmosphere and service and that's what keeps me coming back. read more

This was the first time I have ever. I went to this one because I was on vacation. My brother lived in Boca Raton for school and said it was his favorite restaurant. It was in a cute area of town called Mizner Park and it had a bunch of shops. The restaurant his quite huge with a large patio area. I would say it is a bit dark inside. It had a large menu selection and great happy hour that offered great prices on food and drinks. The food is great with selections that are huge portions and a variety of different items. I appreciated that they did have healthier options and even options for vegan people as well. We had a very friendly waiter who was great to our table. We had went around lunch time so it wasn't too crowded. I am glad I got introduced to this restaurant and will be going to try out the one in Dallas! read more

Came here on a breezy afternoon and was immediately sat at a lovely high top outside. Our server was friendly, and food came out pretty fast. I got a truffle burger which had an Amazing, rich flavor and was served with tasty thin-cut french fries. The only thing I might have added to the burger was more toppings - it came with truffle cheese, tomato, and bacon jam. I didn't think of it at the time but something crispy, like a big onion ring or something, might have made it feel a little more substantial. I got through the whole thing then started eyeing Nick's burger jealously (I was pretty hungry, okay? Don't judge.). Mine had a better flavor (I think), but his was stacked a bit higher with burger swag. I've been on a Saturday night and it was a mad house - very loud and dark inside. I prefer the late lunch, Sunday afternoon vibe like we had. The food doesn't typically fall on the healthy side - lots of fried, greasy pub food options. The eggrolls are super flavorful and the pizzas are a nice size. Their beer list is impressive - all different sorts of craft brews, both on draft and bottled. LUNCH REVIEW Not a good first start. The hostess walked us in and sat us down away from everyone but by the window. I went to the restroom and when I came back I noticed not one person came by the table. Waited 5 more minutes after that and saw the hostess talking to two servers. One of the servers came by and said that they were trying to find someone to serve our table. Luckily, we had a great, attentive server which made the experience much better. I ordered Cigar City's Florida Cracker and their truffle fries ($5.65) which are AMAZING! For entrée, I ordered their GRILLED KOREAN BEEF SHORT RIB TACO, spicy green papaya, green onion, sriracha aïoli, chili threads. I ordered the meal that comes with rice and beans. This place has the best vegetarian options ever and they're all so good! I had the Gardein buffalo wings and the Gardein chicken bowl and I loved both of them. They were both so flavorful and filling an didn't taste like vegetables at all. If I ate these items without knowing what they were, I definitely would've thought they were meat. The staff was helpful in answering questions about the menu and were very patient even though my friend and I took a while to order. The environment inside the restaurant is a perfect mix of casual but still nice enough for a sit down dinner. I'd definitely return here for lunch/dinner. I thought this place would be awesome. So many things on the menu I wanted to try. But was a bit disappointed. The service however, was on point. We got the guac and chips and it was DELICIOUS. And our great server, Dylan, made sure we had more chips and guac if we needed it. Disclaimer: Most of their salads were kale based and I am not about the kale. I got the chopped salad thinking I was safe from it but it was 80% celery, which is kinda bitter. The dressing was great but I wouldn't order the salad again. My son got the mac and cheese and it was good but he didn't finish it which is a sign it wasn't amazing. The other people in our party got the Salmon which they enjoyed and the Ahi tuna salad which looked good. I ordered the clam chowder but they were out. Our server said it would be ready in 30 min if I wanted to wait, which I was willing to do as I love chowder. When it was brought out it was way too salty and not great but it was complimentary and knowing they rushed to make it, I don't necessarily fault them for that. We came here in the late afternoon to try a new place to eat. We were greeted kindly and seated promptly. After that, it was just an experience we wouldn't repeat. One word to describe our visit...SSS...LLL...OOO...WWW! Can I say turtle speed...well, I think a turtle was faster. Our server came and he took our drink order. After a while, for just plain water with lemon (maybe he went to pick a lemon tree), he finally came and took our order. We ordered a Queso Dip as an appetizer and our entree the Classic Burger with fries and a the Parmesan Crusted Pork-loin dish. We waited and waited and our appetizer finally came out. It was not very good (JAlexander makes this much better). Then we waited some more and our entree arrived. The burger was a bit undercooked and flavorless and the Pork loin entree was flavorless but redundantly drenched with sweet fruity sauce. The only thing good was the sweet potato that came with it. The broccolini tasted so brunt and charred that felt like you were in smoked filled room. It was so difficult to remove the taste of this horrible dish. We couldn't eat our food but then we had to wait still more to find the server. He finally came and to the other table and we took the opportunity to just give him our car without asking the check because we just wanted to leave. All in all, if you want slow service and want to lose weight, then, this place might be your solution because you might lose a day and come out hungry! We wouldn't recommend this place to no one and we won't be back anytime soon. Try the place across, we believe it's Max's Cafe...we will definitely try them out and give you our honest review. This was not a great experience. The place is listed as a good place to bring kids. Wrong. The rock music playing in the background is fun, but at a certain volume you cross the line from restaurant/pub to concert venue. That's how ridiculously loud it was at 5:30 pm on a weekday. We were a party of about 10. To talk to the person next to you, you have to lean into their ear and shout. Forget about communicating with anyone else at the table. How about service? Beyond crappy and too slow. We are seated at the world's longest booth table where you cannot hear a single word the waiter is saying and he cannot hear you either. Amongst brilliant ideas, this one is really special. Let's build a long and thin table for 10 like a booth where everyone is trapped inside and cannot be heard by the waiter. After a considerable delay, the waiter shows up eventually saying something incomprehensible with a dopey smile. We're hungry.....we've been waiting....kids are crying.....Metallica concert volume in the background. This guy is launching into his "Hi my name is Brad and I'll be taking care of you...." routine. Then again, he could have been telling me his favourite colour or flavour of ice cream. Since I cannot lip read, his exact words will forever remain a mystery. I had to tell the person next to me what I wanted to order and like a ridiculous game of telephone, they passed my order to the next person until it made its way to our waiter. They specialize in beer. They seem to have several hundred varieties on tap. You would think that they would learn how to pour a proper pint of it. My first pint arrives with almost 1/4 of the beer missing from the top. I drink it anyways because there is no way to communicate my disappointment given the volume of the music and my place at the end of the table. About 25 minutes later when the waiter makes contact with our table again, I'm able to point to my nearly empty pint and signal that I'd like another. For good measure, I also pass along the message that I'd like a full pint poured to the top this time. The waiter gets the message and looks at me like I'm crazy. Pint #2 then arrives once again not filled to the top. So not only does the bartender not care about what he is pouring, the waiter and food runners have absolutely no standards to which they adhere. I'm providing the pictures of both pints the way they were served before I took a sip. I also ordered some chicken wings that were supposed to be spicy. They were essentially coated in some derivative wannabe chinese sauce. They were more soggy than crispy and had only slightly more heat and complexity than chicken tenders on a kids' menu at a Holiday Inn. To top it off, Yard House has a valet service separate from the other ones at Mizner park. This meant being turned away from the regular valet spot once they learned we were going to Yard House. Yard House's valet only had one poor kid running ragged back and forth to the parked cars. I waited 10 minutes to give him the keys to the car and then another 20 minutes to get the car back after the meal. From start to finish, Yard house was meticulous in their efforts to piss me off. Yard House offers a gigantic menu of mostly American food with some Asian and Italian dishes thrown in here and there. There beer menu is extremely extensive and they even have my favorite, the orange blossom from a small brewery in Orlando, FL. The food is always good, not great, not bad, just good. The restaurant is very large, which I think comes at a disadvantage. They often seem understaffed for the size because food and drink can take forever to come out. It's an easy going place to bring large groups and children. Also a good spot for big game days. read more

I LOVE Yard House, so it pains me to give them less than 5 stars, but the experience the other night was terrible. Larry S. and I were meeting friends here for dinner, and we arrived early so we availed ourselves of some happy hour beers at the bar. The bartenders were great, as always, and we even managed so sneak in an order of onion rings before HH ended. Our friends arrived and even though there were plenty of open tables, we were seated next to a 30 person holiday party. Our server, Brian, was also handling the party - BY HIMSELF! He was awesome and so friendly, but one person can only do so much. We asked to speak to a manager and he was totally apologetic, retrieving our missing drinks from the bar himself, and getting us another server. We made it clear that there was no problem with Brian, who also stopped by to apologize. The food and the drinks were great, of course - it's the Yardhouse! I was pretty full from the onion rings, so I just had a swordfish taco, but it was amazing! Stuffed full of tender, flaky fish and seasoned perfectly! Larry also had a taco of some sort and I don't remember what our friends had. At the end of the evening, the new server invited us to have dessert on the house, which was a really nice gesture. We had the dessert trio, which came with a fruit crumble, a creme brulee and and a chocolate mini cake. All delicious! Even after we had the server change, the service was glacial and when we received the bill, it had items on it that we didn't order (that was corrected, of course). I know December in the restaurant world is brutal and I applaud the manager for getting involved personally. Both of the servers seemed to really care that we had an enjoyable experience. That said, a casual dinner with friends turned into 2.5 hours! I probably won't come to this location again solely because I live in Miami-Dade county, but the experience certainly won't deter me from the Hallandale and South Beach locations. read more

What a great place to dine outside here on the corner in Mitzner Park. With just the right amount of flavor, this sesame crusted seared tuna on a bed of greens hit the spot. So far this is my favourite location. We sat outside yesterday and the staff here needs a raise right now. Service was great, and not just from our main server. Everyone was coming by to make sure we were doing well and drinks never ran dry. The menu changed recently and it's opened up a few newer options, including some vegetarian. Parking is no problem here. Street park it or simply garage park it. Valet across the street if you choose. The whole mall area is friendly and lively and you really can't go wrong with Yard House, the menu is Cheesecake Factory large so there's something for everyone. Thanks for a great dinner! read more

Girls night the Thursday night before Goid Friday... it wasn't overly crowded and we had called ahead so our table was ready. Our server Lisa was amazing!! She didn't even hesitate when we asked for separate checks (about 12 of us) I was looking for a nice montepuciano, which they didn't have, but Lisa recommended the "Freakshow" Cabernet which suited my tastes perfectly... very dry and full-bodied. ($12.50/glass which was a little pricy for me, but they carry this at Costco and Publix so I can purchase later) For dinner I enjoyed the French Dip sandwich with au jus and creamy horseradish sauce. I went into Yard House for dinner on Saturday in the early evening after a day at the beach. We were probably a little early for dinner so it wasn't crowded at all and we were seated immediately. The menu here is HUGE. Between all the beers they have on tap and the food menu it took us awhile to figure everything out, but the waitress was very friendly and helped out when she could. To drink I started with a watermelon beer they had on tap, I don't remember the type as I kind of just saw the word watermelon and went with that, but it was delicious. Now on to the food. There were three of us and were ordered a lot of things. The first page of their book of a menu is devoted to appetizers and snacks that are all reasonably priced so we (I) went a little crazy with the ordering. *creamy brussels sprouts and potatoes- these were quite good, served in a malt vinegar aioli. I'll eat anything swimming in aioli. *pear and gorgonzola flat bread- loved the balsamic/pear/carmelized onion combo *fried calamari- I liked this, it had both rings and the more squid-ish looking tentacle pieces, but probably wasn't anything too special (had it been up to me I would have done the kung pao calamari but I was outvoted) *california roll- this is a very unique presentation. A large disk of sushi rice with seaweed pieces on the edges topped with crab and avocado. The plate was garnished with soy and hot sauce. I enjoyed the presentation and I did think the roll was good, but the ginger was on top and gave ginger flavors where I didn't want them. Honestly I would probably order it again because it was just a fun dish. * pork belly tacos- I only got a tiny bite of these so I'm not sure I can give a full opinion, but based on my bite I would get it again. * shrimp vodka pasta- I didn't try this one at all, but the small portion (it's offered in two sizes) was still pretty large and there were leftovers...actually there were leftovers of everything because we ordered way too much. I really liked the menu here and although there wasn't one dish that completely blew me away I really liked the snack and appetizer items. It allows you to try a large variety of different things while keeping the prices reasonable. I have been here for the late night happy hour as well and found that to be a great deal. Oh, Yard House. The service seems to lack at every location I go to. The servers are always so nice but they work with no sense of urgency. So I happen to be in Mizner Park yesterday and once I walked by Yard House, I knew this is where I was going to be enjoying dinner for the night. They are located on the corner near the iPic theater. I thought we were going to have to wait for a table but we were immediately seated. The hostess told the other hostess a high table by the bar to walk us to but when we get there, there was another couple sitting there so she sat us at a booth for the inconvenience. This booth was easily the largest booth I have seen. It can seat at least 5 people on each side. Our waiter came by and introduced himself. When I asked about a particular beer, he said it was really good and delicious. I asked for another drink suggestion that would taste similar and he replied "oh I don't like beer so I wouldn't know". Didn't he just say a beer was good & delicious when I asked? That was weird. Either way, I ordered and I finally decided to order the Guac and chips because I hesitated last time due to yelp comments about them. They are actually not that bad! You shouldn't be expecting this guac to be super flavorful as compared to a mexican spot but it is enjoyable. Another weird thing is when I got my refill for my beer, I asked the waiter if he wanted my empty cup and he said "no not really". This waiter wasn't waiting our table so I guess he was just doing the flavor of bringing the drink over to me. I ordered sliders, my boyfriend a bacon cheeseburger, and my friend ordered the four-cheese pizza. We all pretty much enjoyed the food and the environment. This location isn't as busy as Gulfstream or Lincoln Road which I appreciated. I was sitting in this location for over 2 hours. Food took long, refills took long, even our desserts took long. My friend said every time she comes to Yard House, this is always the service. I really like their food, drinks, and environment but the servers aren't as tentative as I believe they should be. I shouldn't have been in there for over 2 hours. There was a wait of people at the exit that could have been seated if they checked in on people often to get them out faster. Either way, make sure you get the mini creme brulee for dessert & if you don't want to drink as much, they have a smaller cup referred to as "shortys". Their food is good, ambience of a high end bar with large screens everywhere, and the servers are always usually nice. I've been to yard house 4 times and 3 of those times I've gotten my order messed up , or I've gotten cold food that wasn't edible. Service seems to be a big problem here , only one of the times I've gone has a manager even tried to resolve the issue. On my last visit I was given undercooked , soggy , cold chicken wings , twice ... I ended up not eating because the group I was with had other plans after dinner and I couldn't risk my food order holding us up. The wait staff tends to vanish , not checking on how the food came out ( turns into 20 minutes of me trying to get someone's attention to let them know there's an issue with my food ) also drinks stayed empty the entire time. I want to love yard house because the restaurant is reasonably priced, and nice atmosphere, how ever after three bad experiences and staff being no where to be found when you need them I don't know if it's worth the headache. Two stars simply for the location, pricing ( mizner is typically pricey) I hope they can turn it around and give better service , and at least pretend to care when one of your guests is being given freezing cold food. read more

With a large, spiffy location like this, they can't get it wrong. I'm one that looks at the details and the ceiling fans here are epic. I know that's strange to point out but just look up and you'll see why I say that. There are so many tvs so it's perfect for football. I think I have a new bar to watch the game. The bar is overwhelmed with tons of taps and tons of beers to choose from. I love it. Jessica was one of the servers who helped us and she was great. She's a Bear's fan from Chicago so we'll get along swell. :) So we got some beers. I got the Stoudts double IPA in a pint and my boyfriend got Delirium Tremens in a goblet. Later we ordered the sweet potato fries and they were so perfectly cooked, cut the right size, and simply sweet and salty. I hate whenever I order sweet potato fries and they are cut so inconsistently that you get some burnt and some perfectly cooked. I don't want burnt nibs and flat charcoal pieces. So Yardhouse gets a huge bonus for phenomenal sweet potato fries. The dip was bacon maple and it was divine, the balance was perfect. I was concerned the maple might overpower the bacon but I felt it was just right. My second beer was the Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot. I love that beer....My boyfriend got the Unibroue Trois Pistoles. For dinner I was between the fish and chips and the french dip and I ended up with the sandwich with fries, and it was great. The bread is a little soft for my preference because I'm used to really hard baguettes that become soft by dipping the bread in the au jus. But this was more like a hoagie roll so dunking made it extremely soggy. The meat was good, not extraordinary. The fries were great, crispy, hot, and seasoned well with salt. My boyfriend ordered the enchilada and he was very happy with it. The desserts sounded magnificent but we were just too full. I know five stars may be over rating it, but this is South Florida and Boca... There aren't many places with this many food choices and craft beer choices in one place. Great bar for watching the games ! Was here 2wks ago for a friends birthday and also to watch the Rangers game. Great atmosphere and a lot of TV's to watch the games that were on that night. I want to say that the bartender Kevin was awesome ! Always asking if he could get us anything and also topped off our waters with no asking. Very professional and engaged in conversation and made our group feel like we were all friends ! Great bartender ! Kyle was our server and we had quite a large party that was half at the bar and half at the table. He did a great job with no complaints. Sometimes, large parties are a hassle and can be tough with food orders, drinks and splitting checks. He was great too ! The crab and artichoke dip was good. We were greeted immediately and seated in a nice giant booth. It was between lunch and dinner so perfect time for super quick service! I had the Beyond Burger which came with vegan cheese. This is a treat indeed as the places I have had it before do not offer vegan cheese. I had the salad with my burger, also good.
