I heard they opened a YH at ORTC and had to see how they converted an empty smaller retail space into a restaurant/bar. I have to say they did a good job utilizing the space. It's not as large as the YH in Mission Valley but they pulled off a decent YH. Packed to the gills on a Friday night. Their half off happy half hour prices (3pm-6pm) can't be beat (ton of food and drink specials) and may be the new IT spot for the Eastlake and Otay Ranch locals. read more

Happy hour was ok. Don't get the poke nachos the size of the poke is the size of a pea with very little nachos chips .The calamari was mostly breaded with batter 25 percent of it was batter. where's the calamari ? The cook ate it? Pizza was good. We ordered Kendal Jackson wine from the kiosks it said $4.99 per glass then it said 11.99 for happy hr on our receipt. They need to work on their pricing for wine during happy hr . Food size was small for happy hr too . Place needs more tables , they have the space. People's came in and left. First time at the Chula Vista location and the staff was pretty quick to get us in even though it seemed like a busy Tuesday night, the food was fresh and tasty can't mess up a good burger lol it also was out quickly not very long on wait time including a bunch of apps' they did have a lot of drink options but I had to go with the half yard Mother Earth Cali Creamin' amazing choice! I've been here a few times and it's consistently a great experience. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks never disappoint. My favorite drink is the smoked Old Fashioned, definitely worth trying. They've also been very accommodating. I once came with a large party of about 20 people and they handled it smoothly, which isn't always easy for restaurants. It's great having Yard House right around the corner in the neighborhood. Always a solid spot to grab good food and drinks. read more

Very excited to finally have a yard house open up on our neighborhood. However, my wife and I went to dinner for the first time there and let's say I had the worse experience, service, and food at any yard house I have ever eaten at. It appeared they were short staff, which was understandable for us to wait 30 minutes for our cocktails. However, the appetizer served taste and smelled burnt. I mentioned it to my server and she gave me attitude and stated "so u want another one or wat". Our main course was okay, we received it after waiting 50 minutes. I spoke to the manager after our meal, and mentioned our experience to which he seemed he didn't care. Sad to say.... This is a terrible yard house. I hope they change management or their staff soon. Because many of my friends had very similar experiences at this location. read more

Everything was so affordable and tasted really good! It's ur basic bar foods but they do them right. My mom really liked the sirloin sliders. We were a bigger group and they took care of us, providing friendly prompt service. We'll definitely be back. The drinks looked really good read more

First visit for lunch, I ordered sliders from appetizer menu and didn't notice they serve you 4 burgers with cheese on them, fries and a couple of pickle slices (too big to put on sliders) so your left with dry meat. The wife ordered 2 tacos with side of beans and rice, the "tacos" ended up being street size (small) which were tasty but not worth $17. The wait staff was lacking as they only seemed to have one server for quite large restaurant. She checked back with us once after served food and never came back to check for drinks, I had also purposely told her upfront we had an appointment and would she keep an eye on us. Party of 8 on a Thursday evening. Called ahead, they said join the waitlist on their website. Did that at 6:30. Arrived at 6:45. Watched family after family get sat ahead of us. Apparently the hostesses were holding a specific table for us and seating 4-tops instead of saving 2 of those to push together. So we waited until about 7:55 before we actually got sat. Manager made it right and service was good after that but jeez. You guys gotta train those girls more. If you've never been to a Yard House. They're loud. So expect that. But the menu and drinks are good. read more

This was our first time in Yard house and we weren't disappointed. Our server Sal was incredibly charismatic and very helpful when it came to our dining experience. The food is on the pricier side but was surprisingly good for a bar restaurant. I got the Pad thai which was pretty yummy and my boyfriend got a burger which was also really good. The alcoholic drinks were superb. We will be back, thank you! read more

Beware! Called ahead because I have a service animal was told totally OK to come in with the service animal Already had ordered food when the Manager wanted to make me put my small 14 pound carded SERVICE animal on the floor even though the floor under the table was filthy with food that hadn't been cleaned up for quite a while Left and went over to cheesecake factory where they welcomed my dog. Welcome to Otay Ranch Mall, Yard House! Loved going to their downtown San Diego location back in the day. The new location in Chula Vista has more natural lighting which is great! It was Monday Night Football so the atmosphere was fun! Service was excellent given how crowded it was. Special shout out to Alissa our server who gets 5 stars along with all the other servers! First time visiting and we've found our new favorite place near home!! Took our granddaughters to celebrate their birthdays and we all ended up having a great time. We walked in there and were greeted, we asked for a booth, were fast accommodated. Jaz was our waitress, she was funny, communicated well with everyone at our table, answered our questions about the menu, helped with food suggestions, was quick taking our order, kept on coming back to see how we were doing; she was awesome!! We ordered a few things, and everything was great, delicious! We ended up taking some home, as we wanted to try a few items in the menu. The place looked clean, a bit busy but not loud; which is a plus. Customer Service is the best I've seen in the area, they really go above and beyond, and I'm happy to have this place here! This Yard House is up to par with the one in Mission Valley when it comes to food; however, the Eastlake location has an ace with Meech. He was awesome from start to finish. Very attentive and engaging. Our daughter was reading a book she'd recently picked up and he even took a moment to ask her about the book she's reading. It honestly felt like meeting a friend for lunch who just happened to also work at Yard House. It's the little gestures that leave an impression and we will definitely be back soon read more

DO NOT EAT HERE. We had to walk out on a large tab because the cooks were messing with my kids food. Manager has no control over the kitchen. Calamari was clumpy soggy and mushy. Birria tacos cold and uncooked. Returned the items and was sent back over salted fries that had been on the floor - gritty and a nice long blonde hair. I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN. First time here at the Yard House. My wife got the Loaded Pepperoni Pizza and was able to substitute the mozzarella cheese to our pleasant surprise for vegan mozzarella cheese. So good! It's a lactose issue not a vegan thing. I got the Bier Brat Sliders on Pretzel buns with grilled onions, horseradish mustard, beer cheese and malt vinegar fries. Our server, Andres was on top of everything for us. The atmosphere was great. Plenty of TV monitors all around. U gotta try! read more

This recently opened Yard House felt exactly like how I last visited in a different location! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was spot on. Our server, Andres, always made sure we had what we needed and was there if we had any requests. Glass empty? Refills. His kind, yet human responses contributed to the wonderful atmosphere of Yard House, further enforcing my previous statements. We had the worst experience. We will never go back to this restaurant . We like to support our local places. But this was the last time we support this place. My husband saw an employe in the bathroom come out and walk out without washing his hands. This is not acceptable. He informed the manager. But we returned to give it a second chance just to get targeted and be refused service. I will not be returning or supporting this place. I'm sad because there is very few places in this area to enjoy some food and watch a sports game. But it's very sad that they can't get their customer service right. read more

My husband and I tried Yard House at Otay Ranch Town Center yesterday. Although the food was good...but definitely not great...and the service was alright, we probably won't return. My burger was tasty and the fries (after they brought me a portion without salt as I originally ordered) were fine. However, we both felt that my husband's Chicken Bowl was surprisingly and disappointingly small especially for the $23.49 price. Our total bill, including a 20% tip, was just over $60 and that's just a bit too much based mostly on the size of my husband's meal and the fact that there are other similarly priced restaurants that offer more generously sized portions. This is important to us because we are usually able to have leftovers for the next day. That was not the case at Yard House. On the positive side, the restaurant is nicely decorated, the music was at a perfect volume and the ambiance was quite pleasant. Thank you, Yard House. read more

Food was good. My husband and I ordered food at the bar. Food was very good and I appreciated that very much. The service was at best... mediocre. Service we received this evening was at best, " Just going through the motions..." Nothing special or sincere about it. For some people, that's ok. Others and the vast majority, they want good customer service. Personable. Sincerely polite and the professionalism of really wanting to give good customer service. We all work hard and when we go out, we all should have a nice night out. We all deserve that. To feel a little special. In the restaurant business, you are in the business of making it happen. Simply, it's a good thing to make a night special for people. You guys work hard, when you go out, spending your hard earned money, you want to feel good, you want to feel special too. read more

So this is my first time at this yard house, and I am extremely disappointed in the way the floor managers and the staff handled closing. Mauro was the nicest person he has amazing customer service skills hes definitely good at his job. For starters I was there with a friend and we were having a drink and mauro was doing what he's supposed to be doing. Taking care of his customers and his boss at one point was giving him lip. And then he didn't come over as much because the manager seemed to have a problem with it. He doing his job customers are happy thats important! The vibe died right then and there. Paying attention to customers in any capacity is needed when you serve. What upset me even more was the fact that it was close to closing time; Remind you I've been to the yard house in mission valley. If you're in there before closing and you are still finishing up on your food drinks they will let you know we're closing but you can finish no rush. Well here it was close to closing time and the staff mainly the manager named Lupe, beyond rood there was two people sitting next to us and they still had a good amount of beer no one wants to down half a pint of beer. He blatantly came over and said, you have 1 minute to finish that because we're closing you have to leave. Then he told us the same thing he was going around saying this to everyone rushing them. And then one of the staff members behind the counter at the bar told us again, you guys need to wrap this up and finish everything because we're closing in one minute, so you need to leave. Thats very unprofessional people are coming here to spend money and because you cut it close to closing like we're stopping you from cleaning or whatnot, I don't even have the ability to finish my drink comfortably or food, and I'm being rushed out even though you didn't mention that the kitchen was closing soon, and it came out late. So now I have to hurry out of the restaurant. Worst customer service of any staff or managers. Lupe is a jerk and he needs to do better period. This is not how you treat customers. If you're close to closing and we're already sit it down, food came out.I should have the liberty to enjoy my food or drink especially at last call and not be told that I need to leave.Because you're closing a one minute and you want to go home so bad. read more

Sooooo first offfff they just opened in September , and i love that for them . We were greeted by a pretty lady with a beat face ! Make up was 12/10! & she wasn't a gate keeper when it came to the concealer ! Boom! Moving forward we got "Kosmo" as a server " and we couldn't have asked for a better server ! I wanna just put kosmo in my pocket and take him to every restaurant i ever visit . He was attentive and such a natural! , they under cooked && over cooked my steak and he made sure i was taken care of ! He also got the bartender to make me a super strong drink called . "AMFFF"! The manager "Guadeloupe" came over after the steak wasn't to my liking and just apologized , Compt an item or two and i just felt so welcomed and understood. They didn't make me feel bad for not liking the steak the flavor was there forsure just didn't get the cook temp right untill the end but i didn't even care at the end bc they gave me a whole new steak cooked to perfection ! I was surprised because she didn't tell us that she was going on break or who our new waiter was. I asked again...very nicely really...she again said "I'm on break" and continued flipping through her phone. I had to go find another waitress and ask for the check. Thankfully, this other waitress was really nice. I told her what had happened and she said she would talk to the manager. The manager was very polite and apologized for the waitress and tried to make things better. Really liked coming to this place but don't think I want to spend my hard earned money here to be treated like that.

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at Yard House in Otay Ranch last night We ordered several appetizers, and when our wings arrived, we noticed that they were cold. We honestly weren't even planning on making a big issue about it. My fiancé simply let our server know, and the server was wonderful and told us he would remove the wings. We were not asking for anything in return, we just wanted to let them know about the food. A manager, Diana I believe that was her name and came to our table because she had heard there was an issue.What really disappointed me was the way she approached the situation. She told us, "I made the wings myself. I know they are hot"The problem is that she wasn't the one eating them--we were. We know what we experienced, and the wings were cold. She then offered us a dessert, even though we never asked for anything free. We were already paying for our meal. She also made a comment along the lines of asking if we expected her to give free food to everyone, which I found extremely unnecessary and unprofessional. That type of response completely changed the situation from a simple food issue into a very uncomfortable experience. I have been coming to this Yard House location for a long time and have never had an issue like this before. The server was actually amazing and handled everything appropriately. Unfortunately, the manager's attitude and the way she approached us left a very negative impression. Management should understand that when a customer brings up an issue, especially when they aren't demanding anything in return, the appropriate response is to listen and address the concern--not become defensive or make the customer feel like they are trying to get something for free. I really hope Yard House takes this feedback seriously and considers who they have representing their restaurant as management. After this experience, I unfortunately will not be returning and cannot recommend this location. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

Our group of 8-10 people visits Yard House regularly, and one of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the incredible staff. Jason, the manager, is hands down one of the best managers we've ever experienced. Even though he manages a busy restaurant, he somehow remembers all of our names and always takes the time to stop by and say hello. That personal touch makes us feel like valued guests instead of just another table. He's constantly walking the floor, checking on guests, helping the servers, bartenders, and support staff whenever they need it, and making sure everything is running smoothly. It's obvious that he leads by example and genuinely cares about both his team and the customer experience. We also have to give a huge shout out to Laura and Zack behind the bar. They make fantastic drinks, are always friendly, and somehow never let our glasses stay empty for long. They consistently check in to make sure we have everything we need and even make sure we're well fed. Their attention to detail, great attitudes, and outstanding service are a big reason our group keeps coming back. The entire team at Yard House makes every visit a great experience, but Jason's leadership, combined with the exceptional service from Laura and Zack, truly sets this location apart. If you're looking for a place with amazing food, drinks, and a staff that genuinely cares about its guests, this is it. We'll definitely be back again and again! read more

LANE !!!! This man the bar manager changed my experience coming here . It was my first time and I wanted to take my wife who just gave birth a month prior . I wanted to take her somewhere nice . I got a burger that came wet from the bun . I stood up and instantly Lane sees my distress face and he came right away to see what was the issue . There were four of us, and after we were seated, my dad politely asked a staff member which omelet she would recommend since it was our first time visiting. Without any kindness or explanation, she abruptly set his drink down and said, "I'm not your server," in a harsh, dismissive tone. We had just been seated and had no way of knowing she wasn't our server. A simple, "Your server will be with you shortly," would have been enough. What happened next was even more upsetting. We waited about 25 minutes without anyone taking our order. During that time, we watched other tables around us receive service. The table next to us had their order taken and was already being served food while our table hadn't even been acknowledged. There were multiple employees on the floor, including staff at the front, yet no one came over to help us. Sitting there while everyone around us was being attended to made us feel invisible. It was embarrassing, degrading, and incredibly uncomfortable. My family and I couldn't help but wonder why we were the only table being ignored. As a Hispanic family, we left feeling that we were treated differently because of the color of our skin. I cannot know what was in anyone's mind, but I do know how we were treated, how we were spoken to, and how it made us feel. No family should have to sit in a restaurant wondering whether they're being treated differently because of their ethnicity. This review isn't written out of anger or to get anyone in trouble. I'm sharing our experience because no one should have to leave a restaurant feeling unwelcome, embarrassed, or less worthy of basic respect. We came in excited to enjoy breakfast together. We left without eating, questioning why we had been treated so differently. I sincerely hope management takes the time to reflect on how their staff interacts with every customer, because everyone deserves to feel welcome, valued, and treated with dignity.
