Good environment, cozy and beautiful inside. I like the place. The staff is friendly. More like a sport bar with different choices of beer.

Came here on Friday evening for a late night dinner with my hubby and another couple. We got in around 10pm and I was hoping we could partake in late night happy hour. Unfortunately, late night happy hour does not apply for Fridays. The food: - Spinach artichoke dip - comes with really big pita chips. The chips were fine. They were not fresh baked and warm nor super crispy. They seem like something you could buy in a bag from the store. The dip itself is standard, but also not super warm. I think they make it beforehand and reheat when someone orders. - Calamari - it comes with marinara (which I did not taste) and a super tasty jalapeño tartar sauce. This was actually quite good. Not too greasy, the batter clung well, calamari was tender and good seasoning. Admittedly, I ate it with a ton of the tartar which probably enhanced this dish for me. There are a couple pieces of fried lemon in this appetizer. You can eat it whole and its quite delicious and tangy. - Peppered Gorgonzola burger - everyone at the table was craving burgers and we all got this medium rare. The fries that come with it are shoestring. I really liked the fries, very crispy, yet tender in the center. They're also seasoned well, I didn't need ketchup at all. The burger is a run of the mill burger. The Gorgonzola definitely adds bite and richness. The mushrooms in it are negligent and hardly noticeable. I like the use of arugula to have a bitter counterbalance. The takeaway...it's a place with a bit better food than the average chain (but maybe because I'm only remembering the fried stuff :p). Nothing will be disappointing but you won't be blown away either. Prices and service are also middle of the road. read more

I can only review for their Happy Hour. Mon-Fri, 3-6. 2.50 beers and half off appetizers, the chicken nachos are HUGE and only 5 dollars for a big one that can easily feed a table of 4. It's always a nice a hangout for after work or just relax with some friends if you're there earlier during the happy hours. read more

Loved it because the wait for dinner was less than 30 minutes on a Saturday night. Down sides is that it's loud (music and patrons) and it took forever for our food to come out. The food was a little on the saltier side, I had the shrimp lettuce wraps, which is probably because they want to get people to buy more drinks. An interesting place for people watching. I would go back for the large menu selection and the minimal wait time on the weekends. read more

The wild blueberry ale was excellent. Light, but satisfying with soft blueberry notes. We ordered the calamari and moo shu egg rolls - tasty chicken egg rolls with chili cream cheese and other veggies. The best part was the apple ginger plum sauce it came with. Not only having the largest selections of beer, the yard house also have some top notch chef! Out of my surprise because I never had such delicious "bar food". We ordered hummus, seared ahi tuna and glazed spinich salad with mushroom and white cheddar cheese. Some solid. good. food. read more

The place is fine, and the turkey burger is actually really good, but the service is not. I've been here three times with my girlfriend, and a basic lunch (no drinks, appetizers, or desert) takes us about an hour and a half. Every single table around us has always been constantly getting apologies from the wait staff, but that doesn't make up for it. read more

Their menu isn't impressive to me, but I like their turkey burger and when I'm feeling carefree about fat and calorie content I absolutely love their truffle mac n' cheese- to die for (literally)! I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband loves that they have so many beers on tap. Yard House does have some delicious cocktails and cosmopolitans, but they're a little pricey. Last night we experienced the worst customer service ever. First they "lost" our reservations for a party of 12. Which BTW were made over a week ago by the manager over the phone. Then the hostess at the front desk, Nicole, was extremely rude to everybody in our party, as they trickled in via separate groupings. We were told that they would "squeeze" us in somehow. We ended up on a booth/table in the back by the bathrooms. It was table for 8-10 people, but we had to somehow squeeze 12 people into. If this wasn't for a special 50th SURPRISE birthday party for our family member, we would've just left. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The mediocre food and extremely poor service was shameful. And the manager didn't even attempt to make any amends or offer any comps for the inconveniences. read more

business trip team dinner... we needed a place with a BAR...with LOTS of beer and LOTS of liquor... after the long day we had... and this was the perfect option. tonssss of beer on tap and a full bar. not to mention - the food was FANTASTIC!!!! appetizer: sliders with bearnaise sauce... sliders were juicy and had crispy onions on top. the sauce was delish. appetizer: truffle oil fries. holy moly. to DIE for... a million times better than the regular fries. entree: lobster, crab and shirmp pasta... delish. huge chunks of lobster and crab. noddles cooked to perfection with spinach and wild mushrooms. very delicious and then with the added red pepper flakes, it was amazing! procini crusted halibut. love that fish.. i felt it was tad overcooked, but the flavor was great. sides were mashed potatoes, asparagus, and bok choy. yum yum and yum.. how could you go wrong with this dish? ginger crusted salmon. OMG.. the sauce on this succulent piece of salmon was SPECTACULAR! i mean.. i wanted to steal this dish for myself. (i only stole a bite from a coworker) the waitress we had was ... not the brightest bulb.. she kept screwing up the gin and tonics and vodka and tonics. and bc we were there for a work team meeting, the music was playing way too loudly for that kind of event dinner. HOWEVER, the choice of music was great. definitely recommend for a night out with friends!!! read more

I love yard house late night happy hour. It's very affordable and the food comes in large portions. The appetizers are filling and its enough to make me full for late dinner :). The waitress and waiters that I encounters were very friendly and service was great. I have yet to try more of their wide array of beers, but some of the selection sounds delicious. read more

The happy hour here is as ideal as it gets. With an unrivaled library of beer options, its unsurprising they have an appetizer list to match. And you might think at half off they'd skimp on the quality with these plates. You won't find anything average about the buffalo wings here- great presentation. I almost wish I had an office job closer to this joint just so I could unwind here after work. Of course its only till 6 in the evening, but they have a second one at 10-midnight. read more

Obviously the beer selection here is massive. All on tap and fresh. None of that bottled crap. I guess all the old people come here and the college kids go to D&B. Stopped in for lunch with the wife. Got the lunch special which is choice of sandwich or pizza and soup/salad. I chose grilled pastrami and classic ranch salad. Salad came with corn on it, bit odd but was good. Sandwich comes on a garlic French with mayo and jalapeños. Jalapeños were a huge plus. We also split the garlic fries which were delicious as well. No need for ketchup or any other dip for that matter. All time fave here will remains the pepper jack burger that comes with p-jack cheese and a green chile on it. Nom yum. read more

We've been to this location many times and we've had solid good times so far. The staff and service are great and the happy hour is lighter on the wallet. I am not a fan of beer so I didn't order a beer...or any alcohol that night. I was the DD last night. The place was packed. We only waited 10 minutes for a table. Not bad. We sat down and our waiter immediately took our order. I want to say the food was out 13 minutes later. Fast seating, fast food, good service, and good food. I was happy. The waiter got my order right. I had the seared ahi tuna with extra asparagus. Loved it! I was afraid that it was going to be very bland because I tweaked the order a lot, but all in all it was very delicious. read more

Came in late after a concert for light dinner/drinks. Waited 20 minutes for a table in the patio (it is way to loud inside), we finally got to seated and noticed there were 4 other empty tables there, we waited for nothing which is not cool because I was starving! Shortly after 2 groups of people came in and just sat down without having to wait and the waitress took their orders faster than she did ours! Also be aware that they do allow smoking in the patio even if you're dining, yuck. Needless to say I'm getting really frustrated. We only ordered drinks, appetizers, and a salad, it took about 20 minutes and only one of the plates tasted good. How can a dip and a Caesar salad get screwed up? I have no clue, its sad. We didn't say anything because we've been there for almost 40 minutes and still had to drive an hour home. Our waitress was polite but completely inattentive, she was obviously paying more attention to the group next to us. She brought us the check without bringing us the drink refills that we asked for! Her excuse? The soda machine was already closed...ok but how about the water we also asked for? Yeah. Hopefully the group tipped well because her service to us left us with little desire to tip nicely. Lastly, although the dishes were served in big portions it was wayyyy to expensive for how crappy it tasted. Yard House is my favorite chain, and for good reason: THEY HAVE THE BEST HAPPY HOURS! I loooooove the half off appetizers and drink specials! Favorite appetizers to order are their chicken nachos and "sushi" rolls. They also have amazing sandwiches and fries! FYI, best grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup I've had. read more

Love the happy hour here. Love the food. Pretty consistent and the quality is decent for price tag. Only thing is the deterioration of service standards at this location. And please, do not even blame it on the acquisition of this brand by Darden. This has been happening way before that and continues to decline. read more

We came here on a Sunday before NYE so I was afraid the wait was going to be long but surprisingly we were seated in under 10 minutes. I'm not much of a beer drinker but I was impressed by the selection they have at the Yard House. The menu has a wide range of food from burgers to a gianormus turkey pot pie to a new york steak. Of course I'm only lising what I can remember. But even though there appeared to be a lot of stuff on the menu nothing really jumped out at me. I was debating between the Ahi Tuna sandwich or the Cuban pork sandwich. I asked the waitress what kind of seasoning is used for the pork, she didn't quite answer my question but she sold me anyways. I'm a sucker for french dip like sandwiches and the Cuban pork sandwich comes with a BBQ au jus. I was afraid I wouldn't like the seasoning used on the pork but it really doesn't have much seasoning. Its basically thinly sliced pork with a mustard sauce (similar to horseradish), garlic aioli, pickles and cooked tomatoes. It sounds like a weird combination but I actually liked it. I love eating with my hands so the BBQ au jus was a plus. It was also served with skinny well seasoned fries or 'frites', very crispy and flavorful. Our waitress was really bubbly and talkative but overall did a pretty good job of taking care of us. She was running around like crazy but I'm sure the tips for good service pays off. This is probably a beer's lover paradise. I'm not one of them, but I did find that their beer samples are pretty tasty. I was there more for their fresh baked brownie. Their brownie came in a pan, and most of the brownie stuck in the pan, which made it uneatable. Anyways, I liked how I was able to occupy myself by watching sports on their flat screen plasmas, while my bf and his friend finished their beers. So most people talk about the happy hour menu. The portions are decent and if you go with a big group you can order lots of different stuff. I've also eaten here for lunch and dinner. For lunch I had the chicken enchilada stack, which doesn't look like your typical rolled up enchilada. First of all, its loaded with tons of moist chicken. I think they use thigh meat and super cheesy. They pour both red and green sauce over the top, but they taste pretty much the same. Imagine a really fat enchilada that has been sliced in half and is plated with the end side up. Their dinners there are awesome too. Delish! read more

It's awesome that I can bring my puppy here for lunch with me and my bf. The food is a bit pricey but super good! I recommend the crab + lobster + spinach dip and the crab cake sandwich with garlic fries! All so good! Also the portions are a decent price. The service was good. They definitely were cool about my puppy so that's a double bonus but there was another group on the patio and our server seemed to pay a bit more attention to them rather than our immediate needs. I don't know why though, he's guaranteed a good tip from them since it was a party of eight. Doesn't matter, the service from him was good...but just a little more would have made it beyond decent. This place is always packed during happy hours, weekends, and big games. Great beers on tap, fun, busy, and so on. The bartender was cool but then the table was ready so we moved. I think someone pissed in the waitresses cream of wheat. She was grumpy to say the least. The orange chicken is average, the sliders were very good per others I was with, and the burger also received a very good review. I have eaten there in the past and the burgers and salads are usually very good. I also like the poke stack. Mainly, a fun place for good times, people watching, and layed back. read more

I typically don't like reviewing chain restaurants, but there's something about Yardhouse that I absolutely love! Among my friends and I, there's a wide range of taste and preference when it comes to food. So it's nice to know that there are places like Yardhouse that can cater to each person's appetite. My top choices: Mac & Cheese Chicken Strips with Fries BBQ Chicken Pizza Chicken Nachos Lettuce Wraps I usually get a framboise or two with my food. I've had the pear and raspberry cider; they're alright. Service is pretty good. The wait can sometimes take a while, depending on how large your party is. I like the location though (Fashion Island). There's always pretty good parking. read more
