This Yard House has the worst service out of any restaurant I've ever been to. Today was the third time my husband and I tried to sit down to eat here for lunch, mainly because they have our favorite beer on tap. After we were seated, no one came to take our order or greeted us! Today was the second time we've walked out. The other time we had to ask the bartender to get someone over to help us. We received no apologies and felt like our business wasn't wanted. Needless to say, we have learned our lesson and will not be returning. read more

First off our waiter was great. There with a large group. Bottom line, ( and most of us felt this way) the food isn't much better than you'd get at McDonalds.....in other words, a corporate planned low quality high fat menu served in a beautiful environment. Their selection of vegetarian food and beer is great - but the prices are sky high! We were happy to come here to watch football on a Sunday morning (they open at 10 for football) because it was not at all crowded and we were able to get primo seats with a perfect view of all the games we wanted to see. However, the prices are so high that I wouldn't come here for any other reason. A pint of White Rascal for $6.50? Please, that is $2 more than anywhere in San Diego, and probably most everywhere in L.A., although I don't have the experience to make that statement. I love the vegan buffalo wings, those are worth the price just because they are rare to find. I really can't see myself going to Yard House as a normal place to go, but if you go into it knowing you are going to be spending a lot, it is good. I grew up a block from the Northridge mall. A hometown Yard House, a favorite sports bar chain. Hooray? Well ... The best reason to go to Yard House -- drink! Beer preferably. They have a TON of beers on tap. Get a designated driver and order and order. Fun. Delicious. Boozy. I think sitting at the bar is more fun but I didn't do it this time. A few weeks ago, my wife got a babysitter for a rare date night ... to Yard House. OK, not romantic but we thought fun. The wait was 60-90 minutes. We passed. Today, we came back for lunch and the wait was only 25-35 minutes and we got in in probably 15. This was my fifth Yard House experience. (I"ve also been to LA Live, downtown San Diego, Temecula and Long Beach.) The restaurant is big and somewhat loud. There's a huge bar with the renowned draught taps. There are yard beer vials in glass cases. There are several TVs with sports. Menu is huge and diverse. There's something for everyone. Service wasn't that good. We rarely saw our waiter. He took a while to check on our food. When we ordered drinks initially, we said we weren't sure on alcohol and wanted to decide. He dropped off the first round of nonalcoholic drinks and then split even though we were ready to order more drinks and food! We ordered a table of snacks -- hummus and pita, chips and gauc, chicken and gouda flatbread, Mediterranean flatbread, etc. The food was good and light. We were happy about the food. Didn't see the waiter much. The reason to go here, again, is to order and drink beer! read more

Definitely a rare find in the SF Valley. It's an inexpensive place that is nice full of beer on tap and good happy hour food. It definitely gets packed here almost every night because of this commodity, so expect a wait, especially if you go with a larger group. The atmosphere is nice and since Northridge is definitely trying to ramp up their community, this Yard House is definitely pushing them in a better direction. Anyways. :) The food is like any other chain restaurant out there, but their selection on drinks are incredible. If i had to recommend happy hour food, I would definitely recommend the ceviche, béarnaise sliders, and "California roll" (not really a sushi roll) The service was great, our waiters (yeah, we had two) were really chill and very personable. They didn't keep it just professional and joked around with us. It was definitely a plus! Our hostesses tried their best to check in on us while we waited and put our tables together as fast as they could. Thanks! So nice to have a Yard House open in the neighborhood, both because we need some new restaurants in the area and because, well, it's the Yard House. Went here for dinner Friday night and, while the wait was pretty obnoxiously long at 8:00, it wasn't unexpected, and was not as long as the 2-1/2 hours we were quoted. The service, once we were seated, was friendly and prompt. We ordered our meals and they arrived pretty promptly. Both were tasty, though part of mine was undercooked. I brought this to the attention of our waitress and, not only did she apologize, she also said that she would send the manager right over (I wasn't even excited or mean about it). The manager came over immediately and apologized and went right into the kitchen to talk to the chef. Bottom line, without going into detail, I believe the undercooking was a fluke, and the response by both the waitress and the manager were excellent. We enjoyed dessert and coffee after our entrees, and never felt rushed to leave. The service was really, REALLY good. I like the diversity of the menu and the food at the Yard House and will definitely be back. The food would bring me back, but the service deserves kudos above and beyond. Yardhouse, not just the Northridge location, is one of my favorite places to go. They have a great happy hour, awesome vegetarian selections (Gardein firecracker wings are the best) and I LOVE that they have strawberry and rasberry beers-so good! I can see why there are some complaints about service as we have come across a couple neglectful waiters..but, the managers are awesome. The couple times we had problems we were comped without hesitation. One time the manager bused our table himself because they were so busy - thank you! read more

We order chicken tacos for appetizers, and I had the ginger crusted salmon for my main dish. That was by far the most tasty salmon dish I've had in my life. Well,,, we tried it again. This time the Pot Pie and another stab at the Orange Peel Chicken. Going downhill in food quality and service real fast. They forgot about us and we had to remind them to get our order. Pot pie was cold and dry, and they have changed the Orange Peel chicken's quality from the first year they were open. Nothing like it once was. Neighbor table was complaining about their food too. We really got the impression the employees hated their jobs. Then, further conversation with them they do hate their jobs. Shame, I know good people that would love to work at the Yard House and be appreciative. This place was something else at one time. So after a few times of trying to have dinner at the new Yard House in Northirdge due to excessive wait times, we finally say screw it and just waited to see what they hype was all about. Very nice place, decor makes the place look great! So after a 45 minute wait which turned into 1 hour and 45 minute wait!! we were already kinda regretting the decision to wait. But we do and we finally get seated! Our waitress seemed as tho she was having a horrible day already and gave us all her grief when we asked questions or put in an order. Calamari was fantastic! The rest.. blah My GF orders a plain pepperoni pizza and I get the pepper Jack burger MEDIUM WELL! So after wiating close to 45 minutes for our food and starving at this point and a bit annoyed.. in the mean time our waiter changes. My GF recieves a Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza, And my burger comes MEDIUM RARE!! way too bloody for my tatse and my GF is allergic to mushrooms. The manager of the location greets us very nicely and apologizes for all the mistakes and comps my burger. So after another 15 minute wait we get the correct food that we ordered. Eat. So first thing is first, yard house is always packed and for good reasons! The times I've waited for a table went by quickly. I've been to one in Pasadena, which I absolutely hate.. The place is just not that clean there. And LA live is amazing. They just opened this one in northridge and the customer service is amazing! The food at yard house is really good. I love their happy hour prices because I love getting a little of everything. Their sliders are so good- even the veggie ones! Garlic fries are delicious. Their poke, crab cakes and Chicken garlic noodles. This is one menu that is really good. Now, their full bar makes it an even better place to be at. Not to mention, all of the beer on tap, I believe close to 100! Their heffs are good and the IPAs mmmm. Always try to get a half a yard, especially during happy hour- definitely a bang for your buck! The funny part is I think I've never made it to dessert at yardhouse. I'll make sure to try it next time. Customer service is awesome at this location! Just came back again to this location (last night) and I have to say that BETH is an incredible server! She answered all my questions... Was very attentive and even got me a new drink since I didn't like mine! She also went over the new changes in the restaurant and recommended the spicy tuna roll.. Which by the way is amazing!!! Went to dinner here with a group of four. Had to wait about 25 minutes for table, not too bad of a wait time considering we didn't make reservations beforehand. The staff was nice enough, they were prompt with taking our order and very polite. The restaurant was frustratingly loud. Between diners yelling, the sound system, and the dishes clanging in the back (we were seated directly next to the kitchen), our group was borderline yelling just to have a conversation. The food tasted good. I ordered the pepper crusted gorgonzola burger. I really enjoyed the fries; they were thin and light but not crunchy or stiff. The burger itself tasted great, but several hours later I developed pretty bad food poisoning symptoms and ended up puking the whole thing up. Overall: I didn't enjoy the loud atmosphere, and while the food tasted good, it definitely wasn't worth getting food poisoning. If I do ever come back (not likely), I'm just ordering a salad and will ask to be seated outside where it's quieter. read more

Service was initially quite good: I was sat promptly and my order taken quickly. After that though... I asked for my burger medium, it was well done. The bun was toasted to an inch of it's life making it hard to bite through. The patty itself was unremarkable and the cheese barely noticeable because of how overdone the bun was. Not to mention neither the burger nor fries weren't especially hot, I'm guessing it sat before delivered. My server went on break during my meal and as a result I felt like I fell through the cracks - my water was refilled, but no one came to refill my soda, I had to wave down the waiter to get check picked up, etc. All in all, it was just generally underwhelming and I won't go out of my way to return. read more

Yard House is always a safe choice for happy hour, drinks, and food with friends. This location at the Northridge Mall is convenient in terms of parking. It is also a large space with a big bar. Came here on a week night and was presented with a short wait, but was seated by a friendly waitress. Ordered the chicken nachos and chicken tenders and a pomegranate martini. This drink was fruity yet not too sweet. The chicken nachos were always a favorite, but lately they are burning the chips and the flavor isn't as on point. The chicken tenders are standard. I also recommend the BBQ chicken pizza, chilaquiles, lobster dip, spinach cheese dip, buffalo wings, and more. If you are dining with a vegetarian, they have many options that will not leave them hungry. Their special gardein menu has a wide variety of foods fit for vegetarians and non vegetarians! read more

Kid meals are fairly priced and each kid meal comes with dessert. Grilled artichoke could have been better. The texture of the grilled artichoke was on point but the taste was kind of flat. The Korean short rib street tacos were just ok. I had to ask for a side of pico de gallo to give the tacos some pizzazz. The truffle French fries that came as a side ... OMG, are SO GOOD. Stopped in for dinner with husband & kids on the 4th. The food is always really good at Yardhouse but this day the service was poor. Once seated our drinks were never ordered until 12-15 minutes later. Eventually someone came & introduced theirselves & apologized that there was a mixup but was fixed. However, our server was going on her break & we'd be helped by a gentlemen. He was helpful but once we were served our food he disappeared. Out first bites were never checked in & our drinks never refilled. The most shocking part of the visit was that they were not as crowded as they usually are. Pros: The Jambalaya was really good. Dropping 4 stars for a visit on Friday, January 17, 2014 around 4:30pm. I'm familiar with Yard House and certainly know better than to visit during peak hours. Honestly, guys - you can't go to a Yard House when it's busy and expect good service. I don't blame the servers. I honestly think it's the procedures they have in place that affects their service the most. Anyhow, our server was Esther, and she was awesome. Our party of 10 was never kept waiting for food and drinks. She was attentive and dealt with the large group very well. Obviously, I'll give an automatic star for the beer selection. Gotta love being able to find so many great beers in one place. Another star for having a bunch of vegan things on the menu. So, know when you're going. I love coming to this yard house location. The staff is always friendly and the waiting time to be seated is never long, most of the time even being instantaneous. The atmosphere is dark but welcoming and there are screens everywhere for those wanting to see a game. Now into the food. This location has the best flavor in terms of freshness and perfection. We usually come happy hour and order a hell lot of dishes to true everything. The nachos here are superb, and this location, I feel, puts more chicken and guac than the rest. The wings are always crispy and flavorful. The fries crispy and deliciously salty. The desserts are sweet and decadent. Even their off happy hour food is worth the prices. The burgers are juicy, the steaks tender and their mc and cheese cheesy. The drinks are flavorful and their beer comes in a wide variety. Yes happy hour is best when it comes to drinks so make sure to go during those times. But if not still enjoy all they have to offer. You won't be disappointed. read more

I always love coming to the Yard House! Everything on the menu is delicious... I love the coconut shrimp and their garlic noodles with chicken... Usually, I have a good experience at this Yard House...but, this time...was different. My wife and I usually bring our daughters with us, but this time we went alone. The hostess tried to give us a seat in the middle of the restaurant but we requested a window seat (because we saw available seats by the window) we got our request :). we immediately noticed the booth we got could easily seat 6 and it was just my wife and myself. Our server Rory M. waited on us. He was pleasant (but I never got the feeling of sincerity...You know, when someone wishes you to have a good day, but doesn't mean it, but they're required to say so.) He took our order and disappeared for long stretches. Our drinks were brought to us by other staff members and the meal as well. Part way through the meal, we informed Rory that we never did get the Truffle Fries we ordered, he asked if we still wanted them, we said no. He grabbed the tablet at the end of the table and started tapping it. We thought he had removed the Truffle Fries from the bill. When I got home I received the receipt from our meal and noticed that Rory had NOT removed the fries as instructed and to think I gave him a bigger tip than he had put on the original reciept (boy do I feel stupid). The moral here is: make your server show you that they did remove the item you instructed them to. read more

I recently went here with my colleagues to have lunch and do a Christmas gift exchange and celebrate the completion of our program. We arrived at 12 noon on a Thursday and the host sat us right away for a party of 9 people. We sat in the patio and it was a beautiful day outside. The service was fast and reliable. We were pretty loud and we were having a good time. The server found out what we were celebrating and she brought us a complimentary dessert that said "Congrats!" They were also cool about us leaving our wrapping paper after we exchanged gifts. If you come to the Northridge location, it's best to go during the slow hours, Friday and Saturday nights are just way too busy. read more

Wish I could give negative stars. DO NOT COME HERE!!! We checked in on a MONDAY night and they told us it would be a 30-40 minute wait. We checked in and they said they would send us a text when our table was ready. We walked in 40 minutes later because they never sent us a text and they denied us entry. They said we weren't guaranteed a table, even though they took our name down and still told us to wait. Also it was the only restaurant open this late so we could've gone somewhere else in the time we waited! Poor customer service do not recommend!!! read more

She even sat me at a huge booth that can easily fit a family of 10. She hooked me up. Hmm... why are you being so nice to me? I waited exactly 30 mins, but it wasn't that bad. Why? The Lakers were playing and my friend was running late anyway. Boom! We won too. Awesome job, Kobe. Ordered item: -Spicy Tuna Roll: It's not really a roll. It's more like a deconstructed tartare. It's layers of spicy tuna, diced cucumbers, edamame, avocado with shavings of red cabbage & carrots. No rice and garnished w/ fried gari (pickled ginger). Very healthy dish. Surprised that a sports bar would have so many healthy options. I'm not forced to get a platter of hot wings & potato skins. The fried gari was interesting. It had a totally different flavor profile. Been twice, this time we sat at the bar. Came early enough to score a few seats, 4ish on a Thursday. If you can't find a beer to enjoy here you are a weirdo. I had a better experience sitting at the bar so I could wave for someone if no one came by in a while. I enjoyed the Shrimp Ceviche, with a side of chips. Prefer them over the thicker, harder rounds they include with the ceviche. The Poke Stack is delicious, wish for less carrots and more radish but very tasty. Shitake noodles are very good and so is the pizza, it has a really good sauce and it is a decent size. The Grilled Korean Pork Belly tacos were good, I wished they came with a sauce/salsa of some sort, maybe something green... At the bar I could hear my friends better so it was a much more enjoyable experience. We did get different people serving us within the 2,5 hours we were there. We also shared a mac n cheese that was filled with chicken and bacon. Both thought it was better than our own dishes. We had two servers and both was very attentive with great sense of humor. After a lame experience at the YardHouse in Long Beach someone from the YH team contacted me, apologized for my awful service and invited me to give them another try. Fortunately THIS place opened which is closer to where I reside. I have to say I was very impressed. The booth seats are HUGE. They could easily sit 6-7 adults comfortably. The staff was friendly, not exactly attentive but I guess it was lunch so let's cut 'em some slack. The food was delicious. Much better this time around. I ordered the beef dip again with a salad and was much much happier. The lunch special is very reasonable. We ordered the truffle fries, of course. I didn't think it was too loud. Then again, we weren't seated right in front of a tv, which was perfectly fine by me. I noticed quite a few business folks eating alone here. Not bad, stop by on your lunch break, grab a beer and a good meal and forget about that stressful job of yours. I also noticed several groups of what I assumed were coworkers enjoying themselves. I've seen reviews about service being poor here and I have to say, tonight we waited for our food and lost track of time and the manager came out and quoted the exact time we had been waiting (23 minutes), apologized, and gave us a free round of drinks. Our food followed immediately, and it was delicious. I've found if you sit in the bar area, service seems to be better. Servers are constantly roaming around checking on things. But I would never give this place a bad review bc tonight I had a burger w/lobster and asparagus on it (2 of my favorites!) and it was amazing! Yesterday I had a horrible experiences at this location me and girlfriend were enjoying a dinner. It was a good evening until the server Lisa dropped food at the table next to us. Mistake happen I understand that but when she dropped the food barbecue sauce spilled on my girlfriend hair and her white pants. The srrverw didnt even seem apologetic she just brushed it off and kept on with her night. We asked to speak to a manager, the manager never came. I was really upset obviously, but we had to leave becuase my girlfriend had to wash her hair and pants becuase of the mistake their server made. This is the third time I've been to this Yardhouse and the third time that the ladies at the host stand have completely missed estimated the seating times. It feels as though they lie with shorter wait times just to keep from losing customers to the other restaurants. I was told 20-25 minutes and after 45 minutes checked in with them and was told 5 more people ahead of us. Three times is a charm, I won't be back. Went in for lunch today and it was pretty empty. There was more employees than customers. They were all just kinda standing around chatting and blocking your way through the walkways. We got Dana as our server, she was very nice but the service was so ssslllooowwwwww, we were there for over an hour for just lunch. It took so long to get our food, when it did arrive it was very good. I got BBQ Chicken Pizza and a Caesar Salad and the hubby got some fish tacos. The tacos were very small but he said they where good. My food was very good as well. Ordered dessert and it took like 15 min to get there, then it wasn't good at all. Dana noticed it didn't look right so she had the manager, Gil come over. He was very nice and removed it from my bill. That was very cool of him!! I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but the slow service and people blocking the walkway I had to remove a star!
