Having been loyal customers of Chris for a while now, my boyfriend and I expected great things when he informed us of his plans to open his own place. Once we actually tried out the menu, we were MORE than impressed! The inside of the restaurant is truly reminiscent of Mykonos. It's beautiful decor makes you feel as though youre sitting out in the streets of the Greek landmark. It boasts an open kitchen as well so you can watch the magic happen. We started with the fried calamari and grilled octopus--both were excellent. We frequent fine dining establishments all over the region and we were blown away by the octopus, truly. It was seasoned perfectly, the quality was outstanding and the portion was perfect, though if you asked my boyfriend he'd say he could eat 3 more orders. For dinner I had the beef and lamb gyro platter--perfectly done. He had the lamb also, which we both enjoyed. As a treat, we also got to try the rotisserie chicken, the house specialty....AWESOME! Chicken would never be our first choice for dinner, but this made us believers! After dinner, you have to try the homemade Greek yogurt, much better than whatever John Stamos is endorsing! Overall, I can't say enough great things about Yasou Mykonos, we enjoyed every bite! I had been driving all the way to Westwood and Englewood from New Milford for Greek food for a few years now and I have to say the food was sub par. Finally this new place opened up and I went in about a month ago to give it a try. My first time I ordered a gyro, it was homemade, and seasoned perfectly unlike the frozen block I was used to at other places in this area. It was so juicy and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and fresh. I decided to bring my wife and daughter in to try it the next night. We ordered tzatziki to start, which was very tasty and didn't leave my mouth smelling like a garlic factory. Next, my wife had ordered octopus, which personally, I don't enjoy too much, but this octopus was so tender and the balsamic dressing was die for. For our entree's we shared Mousaka, Pastichio and Shrimp Mikrolimano. All of the portions were enormous and each came with a side salad. Our waiter described the desserts that sounded wonderful, but we were too full to even comprehend eating anything else. We ended up getting a lowfat Greek yogurt which was also homemade and added sour cherry toppings. The yogurt was so good, my wife stopped buying Chobani at the supermarket and we drop by here to pick some up. Everything is reasonably priced and the service is fantastic. I hate to write a bad review but....after calling and being told it would be at least an hour and a half for delivery I paused a minute to decide if I should pick up.....at which point the guy told me that he was very busy, I should have hung up but I ordered for pick up. Once I got my $50 bucks worth of food home YIKES ! The Gyro platter had bits and crumbles of dried meat, didn't recognize a lamb taste at all. There was very little salad, with 2 Gyro Platters we got 3 small pitas between the two platters. We also ordered the broiled cheese app, it was soooo salty you could hardly eat it. Although I am not positive, the pitas may have been microwaved since by the time we attempted to eat them they were hard to bite. I will continue to give my business to the Greek Village in Northvale, it is soooo much better ! read more

Lately it's been a weekly trip to Yasou Mykonos our new favorite restaurant find, in Demarest, NJ. Great food, bright, crisp, inviting atmosphere and a staff that aims to please (and does...every time). The food is constantly delicious and cooked better than most Greek restaurants I've been to. It's BYOB and affordable for families. Their roasted chicken is always cooked to perfection, salads and side dishes are wonderful and before the week's end, I'm already thinking of what to have for my next meal there. Parking never seems to be a problem and I always go home with lunch for tomorrow! Can't say enough good things about this terrific new find. Try it and see for yourself. Great food. Terrific service. Wonderful ambience. Feel like I'm in a Greek taverna. 5 times and I'm still going back. Tzatiki is so fresh and creamy. Fresh beets are a must. Salads are made to order with just the right amount of fresh dressing. Gyro's are real meat or chicken and so flavorful. We share the rotisserie chicken which is well-cooked, juicy, and falls off the bone. Leave room for the home-made yogurt (low-fat or the real thing) with delicious toppings (sour cherries and walnuts are my favs). In reading some of the reviews for this restaurant this reader cannot help but think that one reviewer in particular has something wrong with his/her mouth. They could not have been tasting the same food I have eaten several times since the opening. I find authentic dishes, with more flavor that what I use to consider Greek food. The rotisserie chicken is the best I've ever had, and the Gyro is to die for. Warm friendly atmosphere and the feeling of sitting on an actual street café in the Greek Islands. Just ate here for lunch, ordered half a rotisserie chicken which was the juiciest, most tender chicken ive ever had and a side order of spanakorizo (spinach rice). I took half of the half chicken home because it was 2 and a half pounds just for the half and the portion of the rice was plentiful. I only spent $12 on my lunch and had a second portion to take home. These reviews do no justice to this clean, friendly and exotic feeling restaurant. The staff is attentive and very informative. Had dinner last night and was the same delicious food I've consistently had. The grilled calamari over orzo with feta was outstanding. The only place I know that has gluten free pita. The melted saganaki cheese with shrimp was to die for. My kids love the chicken bites because it's fresh chicken. My husband had the half rotisserie chicken which was seasoned to perfection. Love this place. Far superior food to anything in the area! Don't understand the negative reviews seems very inaccurate and untrue. Come try it for yourself. Had dinner last night and was simply wonderful. The food is delicious, always freshly made to order. My kids love the chicken bites which is actually chicken not the processed frozen stuff most places give you. I had the chicken gyro which is seriously the best I've ever had outside of Greece itself. Again, not the frozen strips but real meat perfectly seasoned. I had a side of grilled calamari that was also perfectly done. You can't go wrong with the food here it just speaks for itself. This is a fantastic place and I would highly recommend!!! read more

I've been coming to this delightful restaurant for years and one thing is for sure, the food is simply excellent. It's fresh, it's authentic and it's the best damn gyro I've ever had. Pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. The staff has had some recent changes and all for the better. They couldn't be nicer and go out of their way to please. First off...the atmosphere and interior of Yasou Mykonos brings me right back to the Greek Islands! The food is so authentic...it's fantastic!! The rotisserie chicken is so moist and seasoned perfectly. Falafel, octopus, all hummus and dipping sauces are spot on! Their gyros are also one of my favorites. The friendly staff is very knowledgable about the menu and they'll prepare/special order any thing for you. It's definitely worth the quick ride from Edgewater to get real Greek food!! read more

Greek food at its best. What a nice little place right around the corner. They have outdoor sitting area and I can't to come back again. Just picked up yummy spanakopita and it's was divine. Friendly staff and seems to be a place that's been around for a while so they know what they are doing. I'm eager for a sunny weekend so I can dig through the menu for some other treats. My first time at Yasou Mykonos could not have been more pleasant. As soon as I walked in I was greeted at the door by very happy and friendly workers. The dining room gave me an authentic feel of a true Greek environment. They had the best rotisserie chicken I have had in a long time. I highly recommend the prasini salad. It offers a great mix of scallion, lettuce, crumbled feta cheese with an olive oil dressing. I think there might be some lemon in there too, but not sure. I also love their rotisserie chicken. It's crispy and juicy at the same time. read more
