Third edition of Yasou that opened in New Milford. Really gorgeous store, everything new and shinny. Store looks beautiful. I put in a take out order for lunch via the app. The lady in the store was really wonderful. The chicken soulvaki and gyro platters were really good. Soft chicken cubes with marinated herb for soulvaki. Pita bread was quality. And the amazing homemade tzatziki sauce, tastes so good. The side items of greek salad and grilled vegetables were fresh and complimentary to the main dish. It was my first order in a while from Yasou. I'll be getting food from here more often now. read more

I love Greek food, but this was...terrible. My lemon potatoes were soggy and a little too tender. The chicken was a generous serving, but extremely dry. The pita and tzatziki were the best part! The tzatziki was fresh and flavorful, and the pita was slightly warm and toasted. I also had a slice of orange cake, which was heavenly! Moist and they didn't skimp on the orange flavor. The inside was clean, and there was plenty of seating when I went to pickup my order. I'd consider grabbing the cake and pita/tzatziki again. read more

$1.50 for extra Tzatziki , lamb and beef gyro over pita is $9.99 which I think was the same price as before. The meat was more chopped up into little pieces and it had a different taste than what I remembered. You do get a generous amount for the price. But there was very little tzatziki sauce to begin with, I was glad I got an extra, because you'll definitely will be needing it. read more

Excellent and authentic. Lots of interesting finds on this menu, including a lovely sour cherry tea that was phenomenal. The food was really delicious. The food was very good, but for the price I felt that the portions were on the smaller side. Not sure if it may be different for a dine in experience. Overall would do again if I was in the mood for authentic Greek food. read more

Today was my second time ordering from here and the food was so good that I just had to leave a good review. I had a beef gyro which was delicious- the flavors were amazing and i like that they added a few fries in there. The lemon potatoes were quite addicting, I love the zesty flavor and couldn't get enough of it! The chicken souvlaki was nice and juicy and my boyfriend loved it as well. The lady behind the counter is also so sweet. Just her service alone makes me want to come back. :) read more

I really wanted to like this place as the owner was very kind and helpful. But unfortunately the food was terrible. Both the gyro and lamb souvlaki were completely overcooked and very hard to chew. Also, the lemon potatoes did not taste good and some one definitely took the lemon part of the recipe very seriously. For 16 dollars, I would expect the platters to have more than dry meat, a few pieces of pita, and one side. And the worst of the whole experience, they forgot to include the baklava that we paid for. I'm so disappointed in this place. Please bring back gyrohouse. read more

Ordered for pick up. Meat was extremely salty and overcooked. Barely any onions or tzatziki in the wraps too. Salad was tiny- about the size of my hand. The woman at the counter was very nice and they had my order ready quickly, but many better places to get Greek food in my opinion. read more

My wife and I decided we wanted a 'light' dinner and decided to give Yasou Thasos a try... our first choice was 'A Taste of Greece' which is closed on Mondays. I read the Yelp reviews which ranged from great to terrible with nothing in the middle- I have to admit I was rather intrigued. We only ordered a large Greek salad and grilled calamari; I realize that makes this a fairly limited review. I am posting a picture of the salad and the calamari below. The salad was fine, not great, not bad; same with the calamari. The ingredients tasted fresh, the dressing was okay. It came with one piece of warm pita. The challenge here is that there are so many good Greek restaurants close by (ATOG in River Edge, Angelos in New Milford, Nisiotis Taverna in Teaneck- formerly Vasili's) that, although the food wasn't bad, I can honestly say that the salad and grilled calamari I've had at these other places was better. The salad was $14.50, had a thin layer of tomatoes, onions and cukes, a couple of olives, a lite sprinkling of feta cheese, and a LOT of lettuce. Although it tasted fine the salads from other places mentioned have a LOT more of the GOOD stuff, ESPECIALLY feta and even come with a couple of dolmades AND at least 3-4 pieces of pita. If the price was less I'd say it was a good 'value' option but the large salads at the other places are the same price and just a lot better. That being said, I am giving them 3 stars because I LIKE GREEK FOOD and I want them to succeed (and 2.5 isn't an option) however- Rosa- I am asking you to raise your game. Read my reviews, I've been around the block, I know good food. You can do better, and I'll be back. Nothing would make me happier than to give you 5 stars and rave about your food. I ordered the Chicken Lemonata, it was awful. It was supposed to come with crispy potatoes but came with just 2 small boiled potatoes and the chicken was clearly being used to use up rotisserie chicken, mostly dark meat and lacked any real lemon flavor, it was swimming in a watery lemon sauce. I'm giving the food we ate five stars: saganaki, chicken souvlaki, grilled salmon, spanakorizo. The guy on the grill is masterful! I'm giving Rosie, the manager five stars: cheerful, attentive, full of energy. I can't rate anything else, because I didn't eat it but the items in the cold bar -- salad ingredients, cheeses, tzatziki, beans, etc. all looked great. Unfortunately, this place is too small for a pleasant, dine-in evening. So I thought of taking a star off, not because there's anything wrong, but just because it isn't what I would like it to be rather than what it is. This place opened in lieu of Gyro House (excellent Greek spot) who had to shutter because of rent hike. Ordered food for my entire family of 6 from Yasou for the first time and it was for lack of a better term horrible. 1. Order came in completely wrong (ordered beef gyro got beef kebab) ordered some flaky pies (god a vegan dish) 2. Souvlaki came in cold (all orders) ordered chicken and couldn't determine if it was chicken or beef due to the mysterious color. 3. hot appetizers all came in cold. mashed potatoes were ice in the center and didn't come with what was listed on the menu Aside from the fact the food came in lackluster. The heavy price for a mediocre platter averaging 17 dollars for bland food is not worthwhile (I'll spend good money for quality food no issue) This is the first time I'd ever consider tapping on a zero star feature if it were available on Yelp. We tried this place tonight and WOW, so good. We were truly impressed by the food and the service. We all tried the Gyros (chicken and beef/lamb) and it was delicious. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the tzatziki was thick and creamy. I loved that they wrapped the gyro is a paper sleeve, making it easy to eat. The Greek French fries were so good as well. We didn't get to try the baklava or rice pudding we ordered for dessert as we are still so full from our outstanding meal. I normally order from their other location during work, figured it wouldn't be a problem . Gyro was ice ice cold even the fries. Like it was sitting in a fridge all day. meat was too chewy to even eat. Soup was way too salty, barely could eat that. The Gaint beans, I ordered was the only thing ediable. read more

We went there for dinner the other night and we were the only people seated for dinner. The dining room is the bare minimum ok for the after school crowd. Some of our meal was served in take out containers but the food was excellent far better than more expensive Greek restaurants. They seem to do pretty good with the take out crowd. Our food order was terrible to put it in nicely. We ordered gyros, and when I pull the Gyro out of the bag, so much oil leaked all over my pants and shirt all the way down to the underwear. That was pretty disgusting, but not as bad as the SUPER SOUR VINEGAR taste of the white sauce. I know what tzatziki sauce is but this was next level sour that I couldn't even take a third bite. Extremely angry that they didn't drain the oil before they packaged it and sent it to us to destroy our clothing, carpets and furniture, and even worse that the food was not edible. EPIC FAIL !!!
