I don't give 5 stars so easily. But this place was awesome. The lady helped me navigate the menu to order via the kiosk not because it was difficult but I am old school. The lahmajune and pide was great. Clean, fast service. Excellent food. We will be back

I've been wanting to try Turkish pidde for a while now. While browsing for food nearby, this place popped up. I ordered the pastrami pidde, egg and cheese pidde, and set of 3 mini lahmacun with Turkish soda. The pidde were great (nice and cheesy, soft crust), but the star was the lahmacun. The thin crispy sheets had a flavorful spread inside with lemon, parsley, and tomatoes on the side. We put those accompaniments inside, and it gave a fresh, bright flavor that I loved. I could eat a lot of these, which must be why they also sell them in large quantities (they were pumping them out of a conveyor oven when I walked in). I ended up using the rest of the lemon/parsley/tomatoes on the pidde. The Turkish soda uludag gazoz was pretty refreshing. I ordered online, and it said 20 mins, but was ready in about 5, I hadn't even finished getting ready to head out the door! Super fast. Will definitely order from here again.

I was on my way to pick up some Chinese takeout when my friend saw Pidde. He asked what it was and I said it was basically Turkish pizza. Turns out, i was thinking of lahmacun, which is a round flat bread topped with minced meat and veggies. Fortunately, they serve pidde and lahmacun. Pidde is a bread stuffed with melted cheese and other toppings. It looks like khachapuri, a cheeseboat I've had at Georgian restaurants. We ordered both, and they came out quickly, in less than 10 minutes. The lahmacun was light, crispy, and delicious, especially topped with the fresh veggies it came with. We got the pidde with Turkish pastrami, which had a nice salty contrast to the creamy melted cheese. It was way quicker and cheaper than going to a restaurant for these dishes, and their takeout boxes were super cute. (Though the boxes did not fit in the paper bag they tried to put it in lol) Definitely will return.

I am a sucker for lahmacun. I tried and failed to make it at home once. It's impossible to get the dough that thin. I was really happy to learn that Pidde had recently opened up near my house. Stopped in to order a quick lunch on a Tuesday afternoon at around 12:30. Everything is made fresh to order and takes about 20 minutes, so keep that in mind. Luckily, it's located in a mini strip mall with plenty of parking, so we did some grocery shopping at this bodega in the same lot. We ordered the 3 mini lahmacun + soda and Turkish pepperoni pide + soda. You can order at a kiosk or the employee can place the order for you. My favorite was the lahmacun. It's served with lots of parsley on the side, and some tomatoes. I wish it came with some raw onion too, but it's not a dealbreaker. The pide reminded me of a pizza but without the sauce. For the drinks, I liked that you could pick from Turkish soft drinks (that we had never even seen, let alone tried), instead of the basic coke/sprite/sunkist. Tip - there is no seating and it's better to eat it when hot and fresh, so the your best option is to tear right into it in the car. Or you can also pick up a few frozen ones and heat them up at home.

We like Turkish food but there are no good Turkish restaurants where we live. On our way home to Boston we decided to have lunch in Patterson, where many Turkish and Arab immigrants live. Interesting ethnic neighborhood. The place is akin to a pizza shop, à la Turk. Worth our detour!

The baba ghanoush was everything I love in a good eggplant dip and was a definite win in our book - seasoned, textured, and slightly smokey. We intuited this would be delicious by getting two containers of it, and this turned out to be a great life choice. Chicken adana is a fan favorite in our house, and it's done pretty well here. They're like elongated loaves of marinated and spiced ground chicken, and delicious with rice and a dollop of yogurt sauce. We preferred these over the chicken kebab, which were just as flavorful but quite a bit drier. Both entrees were served with a grilled tomato and pepper, which were still warm and charred from the grill. They also came with small side salads, with lightly dressed and slightly wilted greens. My husband appreciated the extra veggies with our meal, but I far preferred the warm and soft pita rounds.

This place offers up fantastic Mediterranean fare and is run by some of the nicest people around. When they saw my husband eyeing a platter of an interesting dessert, they offered us both small spoonfuls to sample (I don't remember what it was called, but it was coconutty and delicious). I adored the falafel platter, which was a behemoth serving of 6 falafels, freshly made hummus, tabbouleh, and pita. The falafels were freshly fried and had a lovely sprinkle of sesame seeds. Coupled with a smooth smear of homemade hummus, my eyes were fluttering shut as I ate. My husband's side of the table went similarly silent as he dug voraciously into his mixed shawarma sandwich. He especially appreciated how they toasted the wrapper, which was more like a lavash than a pita. Before we left, we got a baba ghanoush to go. Our jaws dropped when we saw the serving size. We're so used to getting tiny containers from other spots that this giant aluminum platter of eggplant spread - complete with a little pool of fresh olive oil drizzle and stack of warmed pita - had us stilled with shock. We appreciated the sides and variety of sauces that came with our meal. The small cups of mayo, tzatziki, and spicy sauce, along with olives, pepperocinis, and pickled radishes, really helped complete our meal. These small and thoughtful touches made this meal feel more like eating in someone's home kitchen rather than a restaurant. On that note - know that everything is made from scratch and to order, which means the food will take a little longer than you might expect from a fast casual spot. This sweet gem is located on a random street in Hackensack, and a bit hard to find if you're not looking for it because there isn't much to draw attention to it. There's a small parking lot right in front of the restaurant, making it easy to drop in for a quick meal or to-go order.

Either find on the street nearby to walk or in the very tiny space in the front (to which good luck if you try to back out). However, that said the food more than makes up for it. Extremely fresh food made from scratch, you can tell the quality is there looking at the kitchen. This is also the only place to this day that I've found in the area that serves hot grape leaves, which are my favorite item on the menu, most mediterranean spots only make them cold. Their platters are also very filling and solid portion size. If you prefer to go lighter, there are also sandwich options with or without fries. Seating is very small, so takeout is their main business though you could certainly dine in if you'd like. Service has always been solid, the owner is very friendly! I'll keep coming back despite the tricky parking.
