Food was ok. Being Hispanic, the flavor of food was disappointing. Cuban sandwich was not authentic and the steak had no flavor and did not come with the onions that had to be asked for. Had Cuban sandwiches last year and was impressed. This year we tried a Cuban again and was really disappointed as the meat was rather skimpy and I have never seen salami sliced so thinly. Not bad but NOT good. For the price I would expect a lot more. This was our second visit to this restaurant. Both times it was very busy, barely able to walk between tables. The staff though friendly did not provide the best service. The food was okay-not worth the price. Tonight though I was delivered a $4.50 house salad with three pieces of rotten lettuce. I handed the plate with dark, slimy pieces to the server to replace the plate and she made no attempt to fix the salad issue. No bread ever came to the table. When finishing our meal our water glasses were only refilled half way. My Cuban sandwich was fine-Not as good as Beef O'Brady for comparison. Mini Devil Crab basket was good. The flan had good texture and flavor. Considering a sandwich with chips is $10, my Cuban sandwich with salad was $12ish and a normal size plate of shrimp pasta is $22... I would expect better service. It is always busy so maybe spoiled lettuce isn't a norm for them. I doubt we will try a third time. read more

Me and my wife live in the area and have heard about Ybor Grille from reviewers on Yelp,FB,Google etc. We decided to try it out tonight and were very unimpressed. The menu is small and a bit pricey ( i can understand a price hike for the new location and changes) We both had the Pollo Vallencia which was very underwhelming in taste. Me and my wife are Cuban and we could've easily made this dish and not pay 15 dollars. They need to change the price range to over 10 dollars. Everything tasted artificial, they took Goya tomato sauce some Goya saffron, and white cooking wine and just made the dish. I will say the server was very attentive and polite, the flan was the only saving grace. My wife said she would only come back for the flan. If you want real Cuban food head over to Little Habana on 301 and Big Bend instead. read more

The new location is excellent. A very nice bar and the food is AMAZING. We eat here pretty regularly. The main dining area can get a bit nosy if there are some "old people" groups, but hey - tell your server you want to sit over in that little private side area. Oh - and get a Sangria. My husband and I decided to try this place after my mom suggested it. By the outside it doesn't look like much but the inside has a very nice ambiance. Not too fancy but not casual at all. The menu was simple and not overwhelming. We ordered the sangria (a nice touch to have the cinnamon sugar on the rim) and the Cuban bread was delicious with the olive butter. I ordered the Roja vieja (I'm probably butchering the name) it was flavorful and the side of yellow rice and plantains were fabulous! My husband had the daily special of the Mahi Mahi and omg was that amazing! The shrimp and scampi sauce with the yellow rice really brought out the flavor of the Mahi Mahi. They should make that a standard dish! Overall very pleased and we will definitely be back! read more

I have traveled from Bradenton many many times over the years & was very happy with the Cuban sandwiches except for my recent trip to buy two pressed Cubans & six devil crabs which was my order each time I went there but the last order which I did not know until I got home in Bradenton instead of six devil crabs I had five instead of two pressed Cubans I had two toasted Cubans not pressed & we were so disappointed as I had gone up there six to ten times a year and was very happy but it only one bad trip . Great food! It's consistent and always fresh...and the butter with olives is amazing!

What treasure! We are on the keto diet so we knew we had to avoid the rice and beans and bread...dang, such a sacrifice. We had the Lechon Asado (Cuban roast pork), with Bacon Fried Cabbage and Plantains (sweet variety - one keto slip up). OMG! The portions were large and we took home pork and plantains, but the cabbage...well you might not usually like cabbage but fried with bacon? How could you pass on that. The bus crew asked if we licked the dish, it was that good! The service was excellent! From the staff that welcomed us to our waiter. Our meal arrived quickly and it was hot, hot, hot! Great find for excellent Cuban food in the Apollo Beach / Ruskin area!!! Totally worth the drive from Brandon! The Chicken & Yellow Rice and the Mamas Meatloaf were both excellent. My friend meal was cold, she had picadillo. She said it taste like a sloppy joe with olives. I had the pork sandwich but it does not come with a side fir the price. You have to pay extra for a side. I am in shock to see some of the comments regarding small portions & high prices! The portions are perfect, this isn't an all you can eat buffet people! And the prices are fabulous I don't know anywhere else that you can you get an appetizer, 2 glasses of sangria, 2 entrées, dessert & a coffee for $55.00 & the food be absolutely delicious. Not to mention great atmosphere and wonderful service. Also I saw a comment regarding not accepting AMEX, I don't blame them AMEX charges a very high rate for businesses I can totally understand not wanting to accept it. This restaurant has a very nice set up. However, the food is less than desirable, pricing is relatively higher, the background music was not Cuban and the restaurant was loud overall. The claim is that this is Cuban food, but it falls way short. I had the "Taste of Ybor" dish which has pulled pork, chopped beef and ropa vieja. The food had no taste, it was luke warm and they ran out of the two most authentic Cuban sides (Yuca, Morro). I also had 1 glass of Sangria, and it was bad, to say the least. Fan when it was at the old location. Owner Bob and crew are very attentive to customers. Timing of soup and then getting main meal a bit off. Did not finish my soup and then meal is already being served. Love the olive butter, home made chips, NOTE: use the herb salad dressing to dip the home made chips into. YUM. Not a fan of the bowls, but this is a personal thing. Don't like closeness of all the different food in a bowl. Soups are wonderful !! Never had a bad meal there. Go at least once a month. read more

OMG......Believe it or not, the 7th Avenue fillet is the best steak you will ever have. I know "not in a Cuban restaurant" but trust me. Its cooked and seasoned to perfection. Burns, Jessie's, Capital Grill have nothing on this excellent entre. Service is excellent on every level like being served by friends and family . This is a great place to bring out of town guests without the trip to Tampa. My husband and I are new to the area, and were invited to go to this restaurant along with a group of 10 others. We ordered the grouper sandwich, and it was wonderful, served with freshly made potato chips. Others ordered the Cuban sandwich and enjoyed it, and several enjoyed the sangria which was excellent. It certainly didn't taste "watered down" as suggested by another reviewer. Most of all, kudos to our server, Amber, who was probably one of the best servers I've ever had, especially given the size of our group. Had been here many times because the experience and food were incredible, yesterday however everything changed. We all had the Grouper Supreme and the Fish was soggy and tasteless, all of the side dishes were cold, the waitress brought our plates back one at a time and returned with them semi-warm..but the worst of it was when the manager came over and asked how everything was and when we explained our disappointments he just said well sorry about that but i promise the NEXT TIME you come you will have a better experience...Really? how is that going to happen? you didn't even ask our names and wasn't our satisfaction This Time important to you???No Next Time for sure... read more

Happily stumbled across this place. Our waiter was nice but a little soft spoken so it was hard to hear him. We came early on a Wednesday and glad we did because it got fairly busy. We pass this place all the time and decided to try it since it's always packed. The interior is much nicer than the outside and the server was friendly. The food was average at best. The devil crab basket was dry and really needs some kind of sauce with it. My boyfriend had the ropa vieja with mashed potatoes, which was just okay. I had the paella, which was the special. Couldn't taste any saffron in the rice and the seafood tasted off. Both of us felt sick after. Will not be back. read more
