Their food is great and the place if VERY CLEAN...including the kitchen that you can see into from the soup line...the floors in the restaurant are clean and everyone is very friendly!! You can pile up as much food as you can get into a bowl, including pressing it down with the paper by the bowls as you go down the line so you can bring some home..yes the To Go boxes are $.50 but so no big deal to have a full meal the next day! This place is great! They have allot of veggie options and three different noodle types. Your order comes with a drink, soup and rice. The staff is very friendly and they have allot of sauce option. They also give you a separate sauce bowl. I love that they have four fresh brewed tea options!!! read more

We love YC's, we have frequented many through our 7 years eating this yum fest, We had never been to this one, and found it quite by accident one evening, Wow service was above and beyond! We wound up loving it so much we went to our regular location the very next night, I crave this, and my 10 year old does also, I get her a small instead of a kids size so I can eat her left overs ! The staff was friendly and nice. The food was also cooked quickly. The reason for my two star rating is simply the food is only worth two stars. I frequent restaurants in this food category and by far this place is the worst spot in the US I've eaten at. I was unimpressed with their sauces and their flavor on my stir fry/Mongolian BBQ. The food is very mediocre. However I will say for a cookie cutter restaurant and chain restaurant it was ok. Also stay far away from the soups. They were absolutely terrible. read more

Total yum! This was a long time find for my Wife and I. When we lived in Oregon we LOVED Chang's Mongolian Grill and really missed a place with the same type of food. YC's has hit the spot finally! Great mix of ingredients and more than enough! I get a full on meal as I like to prepare and season it, Soup, Won Tons with red sauce and a frozen chocolate or vanilla frozen yogurt cone at the end. The only thing I wish they had are the little rice pancakes and plum sauce that Chang's had, otherwise it is a great place to eat and good for all family members young and old. read more

I love this place. I only go here once every couple months or so and I always forget how cool it is. Their food is awesome especially compared to others places around here. YCs us definitely on top. Two things I've rrad. One person claims they got food poisoning twice lol I just say bs. No way it was from restaurant. The place is pretty damn clean. I bet money she didn't wash her hands anyway that girl crazy but the real psycho is the chick who said it's too expensive and you pay for Togo boxes. The amount of you get is ridiculous. I mean a massive amount of food. Me and my girl and we have leftovers clear for dinner the next day. And the boxes are huge.I'd be surprised if someone could eat an entire box. And if you say it's Togo from the start they don't charge you extra. Trust me up r food will be hot when you get home. I live 40 min away and it's still hot Anyway two large meals ends up fitting into 4 boxes and could easily food a family of 4-5 or just for 2 and save em for the next day read more

One of the first places we tried when we moved here. Its a yummy place. Fair priced for what you get, drink and FroYo included at lunch. They offer papers to push you meat ect down so you can really pile the bowl high!! Very filling meal! The only thing I dislike is that you have to mix your own sauce!! This sucks when its busy and especially when you have small kiddos with you, it takes too much time! They need to have sauces pre mixed. Never ate at a mongolian place before and its okay for fast food. You can make it as healthy or unhealthy as you want and the bowls hold a lot more food then you would think. But in the end everything is super salty (even the soups at the end, just salt ridden) and your not always sure what sauces/flavors would go with what you just put into your bowl. The people here are super friendly. They definitely will help you out on how to make sauces and also any other questions you might have. I'm just a little surprised on how expensive YC is now. I haven't been here for years, so I'm not too surprised now. The only thing that kind of irks me is that they charge you 50 cents for a to-go box and it's not even the super big boxes, it's the small one like for Chinese takeout. That makes me force to eat everything on my plate and I would have love leftover Chinese food for the next day. Other than that, the food is still good. read more

This place is great. I like how the chicken was cut in very thin....shaved flakes? Anyways, I liked the thinness and I didn't have any qualms that it wasn't cooked enough or anything. Tons of veggie options, and the girl working was so helpful when it came time to pick out the sauce. The chef's favorite or YC sauce is pretty good. Nice all around sauce, not too off the wall but still a good mix of sweet and sour and teriyaki. I like both, so it was perfect. Alright guys it's been awhile sense I have been here. The prices have gone up a ton. $26 for two small bowls haha wow a bit high don't you think. I decided I want Ice cream well sir sense it's 4:40pm it's not included it's $1 more wait what sense when? Umm I'm not sure lol wow. But after 5pm it's included in the price. Love the fresh meat, vegetables, noodles and sauces to make your own custom stir fry. The servers are attentive and the environment is clean. I try to stay away from the lunch hour of 11:30 to noon as they are usually crowded and you may have to wait in line. read more

Mongolian BBQ is one of my favorite meals. This was our first time at YC's. It was my daughters first time trying it the lady at the register was super friendly and helped show my daughter how to do it and helped make her a teriyaki sauce for hers and she loved it. As a longtime customer of YC's (since back in my college days and the original Tempe location) it's always a treat to visit one of their restaurants for my oriental noodle fix. The menu has expanded over the years and that make for a guaranteed meal that appeals to everyone's unique tastes. Went today with my son who is home on leave from the army and one of his friends. The bowls have gotten a little smaller than in the old days, but it's still possible to have a great meal and manage to take home a couple of extra meals for just ten bucks. The owner has a real talent at finding great people to work for him, and they are always very helpful and friendly. One helped my son's buddy create the perfect sauce for his meal. You just can't find a better value and more entertaining dining experience than YC's. If you haven't tried it, you have no idea what you're missing! read more

The concept was good but you need to learn how to get the things right...our sauces in spite of getting help form the guy turned to be very salty.Now if you ask for help for adding sauce and still get a salty food???I am not sure whom to blame. If you r an expert at adding sauces....best of luck.They had rice and chips but we were not sure how should we eat the rice with mustard?????I know people were very happy that they can stuff food for 12 bucks but you go to you local Chinese place and you do get 3 days of food for that money though.Anyways we did not have luck in getting the right food so we are not going back. read more

Went back with my girls this afternoon and had a very similar experience. The dinner price has increased AGAIN, now over $40 for 3 of us and this didn't even include ice cream. Staff camped out in the back booths again eating food from somewhere else. The saving grace for this place is the food, which is excellent, and this is the most important thing, so we agreed to raise our rating to 3 stars, but doubt we will be back. read more

Love this place! Food is excellent, and the DIY style is a cool idea. The only interaction you have with staff is the host at the front and maybe the cooks if you choose to so service is kind of a non issue. They need to add to go cups for drinks though, and don't up charge like they do for to go boxes for food. read more
