Met a couple friends for dinner and drinks. Taylor our server was very attentive and she made sure we had everything we needed. We decided to try this place because we received a gift card last year for Christmas and have tried to use it 3 times since then. All 3 times we have been unable to receive service. Once, we went while it was busy. We got a table, and no one ever came up. So after 20 minutes we left. We came two more times while it was dead, and same story. We've watched staff stand around and BS while we went without drinks, food, anything. We've ASKED for service, letting them know how long we've been waiting, and still not received more than waters. Stopped by after a play at the Toledo Rep & the parking lot was very crowded- a good sign, I thought. Also busy inside. When we walked in, there was no one to greet us. It was a large open space with a sports bar-type atmosphere. As we wandered in, trying to figure out where to sit, we stopped at the restroom. Congested & dirty. In fact, I warned a woman in line that the restroom wasn't clean & she said, "They never are" & didn't seem bothered. For me, a dirty restroom makes me wonder about cleanliness of the kitchen. Our Waitress Sam S. was great. We stopped in on a busy game night. Food took a little longer than expected, but was good. We both ordered the special--Roasted Corn Cajun Chicken Wrap with fries. The fries were meh, but the chicken wrap was delicious. Spicy enough for my husband, but still edible by "normal people". It took longer than it should have to get our food, but our waitress kept stopping buy to update us and see if we needed anything. Sunday - around 1pm. Parked in their off street lot - came in thru the restaurant to hostess. Pretty full by bar area, live music playing (nice touch). No one outside, 1 table in section toward parking lot, we were seated in middle section which had 3 tables besides us (1 of them right across from us). Sat there for approximately 10 minutes, waitress so business with table across from us didn't even acknowledge that we were there when she came to check on that table and was removing items. Did see the manager and one male server looking out the windows in the section towards the parking lot while we were waiting for service. My husband went up and told someone that we had sat there for approximately 10 minutes with NO service therefore, we would be leaving. WE LEFT. Very disappointed! Usually hit this place prior to games, think we will be looking for a different place if we can't get service when it's not really business. Only had been here in the last year around twice since unable to attend games this past year. After reading a few of the latest reviews, service seems to be a real problem. Had a retirement party for my husband with about 40 people. Had the room between the patio and main dining room. From the start of the planning to the packing up of the leftovers the staff was wonderful. My guests raved about the food and the bartenders kept everyone happy. For Ohio, this place isn't bad! They seat you very quickly, and this place is HUGE. You can sit at the bar, at a small table, a high top table, outside... they also have good seating for group accommodations. The menu was difficult for me because there were about two things that didn't include meat. I enjoyed a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and cheddar soup... not exactly heart-friendly, but good if you're hungry. We stopped here after going to the TMA, having limited choices and not knowing about anything local, and we thought it was ok. I visited here with a friend and my boyfriend on the evening of 2/28/15 (sorry the post is a month late). Came in without reservations which would have helped but we did not have to wait very long since a few seats at the bar opened up. Loved our waitress/bartender! We started out with mozerella sticks and confit wings, both of which were great. The confit wings were crispy yet saucy and the meat came off the bone with ease. I had the pimento bacon cheeseburger (medium) with smoked gouda mac n cheese. My burger was juicy, flavorful and just plain amazing. Loved the mac n cheese too. My friend and I had some fruity margaritas and my boyfriend had beer. They both got different burgers with fries and not one of us disliked anything we ordered. Loved the ambience here, music, sports on tv, hard wood and just people having a good time. Most definitely coming back!! read more

I recently went to Ye Olde Durty Bird on a Thursday night. Honestly the drinks were meh and the food was nothing to complain about, but to be honest, the servers were rude. It took them a while to even come up and serve us. Drinks took a while to be served and the food took even longer and the waiters were never around for refills. We stopped here for dinner and beer before going to a Mudhen's game. The environment was fun and our server was friendly and efficient. The food was awesome!! My boyfriend ordered the Durty Burger Deluxe (burger, cheese, bacon, pulled pork, coleslaw). I thought it might be a little over the top, but it was amazing! SO flavorful and an amazing combination of items. Others at the table got the Dirty Bird Deluxe (same thing, but with chicken instead of beef burger) - similarly delicious. I ordered a Durty Burger - (the special sauce is a BBQ sauce) and a cup of chicken noodle soup (the soup was a little bit on the salty side in my opinion). I would not have thought Ye Olde Durty Bird would ever rake in a 5 star rating until I started going there this past summer. I remember how it used to be and it wasn't that spectacular. But now, other than slightly overpriced drinks, there are a lot of things working in it's favor. - Great downtown location WITH a parking lot. Let's face it. Frickers and some of the other downtown spots are lacking parking. That can be very irritating on busy nights. - Best burgers you can find in the downtown area. I think they use a higher quality meat and cook them perfectly to order. I've probably had their burgers 5 times now and I've never been disappointed. Even though I'm not big into BBQ sauce, the Durty Burger is my favorite. - The other food on the menu is top notch, too. My absolute favorite is the smoked Gouda mac and cheese. I always get this as a side. Yum! - Fantastic outdoor setup. They have a patio that feels kind of upscale with fire features and lots of seating and tables. This is great for the summer and cooler months. - They have decent live music acts that aren't obnoxious or too loud. I think that has a lot to do with their stage set up. You can sit a bit farther away if you are there to socialize and you don't feel like you have to shout. - Clean! It is clean. That's important. As small as it sounds, that's something I take into serious consideration. - The service I've received has always been friendly and prompt. The gal behind the bar is wonderful, too! It's much better than your typical bar food! My husband and I both have had two great experiences here. I've tried a few of their burgers and sandwiches including the Caprese Chicken, BLT, pulled pork (phenom!) and durty burger. Everything is delicious! My husband loves the duck confit wings and claims they're the best in Toledo but their chunks are just ok. The durty sauce is great! It's never too crowded, they have parking in the back and the service is quick. However it's still hard to park if there is a baseball game. It's fairly family friendly but they so have bands on the weekend between 8-9pm so it does get loud. read more
