I am torn in giving them 3 stars. The pizza itself is 4 star. Good ingredients and prepared well. They lose marks for poor customer service. The shortcomings are easily fixable. I would give them a higher rating if you get your pizza to go. Here is where things broke down from a service perspective: The Hostess seemed completely overwhelmed. Even though there were tables open, she wasn't seating people who were standing and waiting. We saw several groups simply give up and walk out. Then the wait staff seemed to have tunnel vision Once we were seated, the staff rolled back and forth past us for almost 20 minutes before I literally grabbed one and asked for menus and waters. We ordered a pizza and the wine called out on the menu as being perfect with pizza. Our waiter took the order and said nothing. The pizza and wine arrived and though the pizza was good, the wine was on par with Boones Farm (2/bottle as opposed to the $29 I paid. Afterward one of the other staff came by and commented that she normally discourages customers from getting it and that no one even finishes the bottle if they do order it. So here is my advice. Had the WORST experience there. WORST. Happened to be in Jackson Hole from out of town for just for an afternoon and made the mistake of going there. 1. Three tables that were seated after our party of 4 received their food before us, including a party of SEVEN who actually finished before we even got our food. 2. I asked one server to check on our order and she didn't come back to our table to tell us the status---and instead walked by us several times. 3. I then went and asked the cashier who took our order what was taking so long, and she said there were "issues with the order in the kitchen"---but hadn't even bothered to come let us know. She seemed to be surprised and annoyed that I was complaining, when we were waiting for almost an hour at that point. I could easily tell she wanted me to go away. 4. We waited longer, and when I went AGAIN to find out what the deal was, I was able to speak to who was presented as the manager. While talking to him, the cashier who took our order was actually turning her head and smirking. 5. The manager comped our entire meal and when we finally got the food, one of our party's mac-n-cheese was literally cold in the center in a hot dish (put in microwave oven)---the cheese on top hadn't even melted. (We didn't ask for our meal to be comped, we just wanted our food.) 6. When the same cashier who took our order came to our table again, I told her the mac n cheese was cold in the middle, and she literally tossed the refund slip on our table and said, "We already comped your meal, there's nothing else we can do for you." 7. Before leaving, I filled out the contact option on their website asking for a call re this. I haven't heard a response yet, which honestly doesn't surprise me. The worst of it was the cashier/waiter turning her head to the side and smirking and smiling at my complaint and frustration. I've worked in restaurants before as a server and have forgotten to fire a ticket, etc. It happens. But to act like that to a customer and make that customer feel like they are being a bother when they have a valid complaint---most places I know would fire you after that shift. The quality of the food didn't suit the price, but that's how it goes sometimes---and that's not the reason I wrote this review. It was the rudeness of the staff member. I actually signed up for Yelp today just to write this in hope someone doesn't have to sit through what we did. Seems like there are plenty of other great spots in a great town to try. read more

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had just opened for dinner service when we arrived and they were slammed. I took advantage of the YELP Deal and the CHECK IN Deal. For a measly $20, I got to feed 4 with awesome pizza, baked ziti and i got a free beer. I recommend 1. The Baked Ziti with Sausage. It was sooooooo good. Carb + Cheese + Beefy. 2. Bisonte pizza. Very savory. It is a casual and self service kinda place. So make yourself at home and get your own water and plates and napkins. In a sea of overpriced restaurants serving transient tourist, this place tries hard and does well. Unpretentious, simple and good food. Such a welcome sight in a touristy town. Here's the deal... this is the best pizza I have ever had. Each slice takes you on a magical journey, the cheese is vibrant and has the perfect melty texture as it hits your taste buds, the pepperoni is greasy with the perfect amount of spice, and lastly the crust is perfectly crispy with a hint of sweetness as the cherry on top. I've been here for 6 weeks and have probably eaten here 10 times. If you're debating between this shop and it's downstairs neighbor... not only will you get a better view, but the pizza is superior. read more

Me and my family took a nice drive to Jackson. Wondered around and stumbled upon this pizzeria. Since the weather was nice we sat outside on the balacony, which was very nice. Only down fall was that it tight between tables. Our waiter was awesome, wish I remembered his name. Very friendly and professional. Smiled and made us feel very comfortable. We simply ordered the campo pizza and drinks. We kept it easy lol. The service was fast and our pizza was amazing! I must say the lemon zest added just the right taste! We haven't had a really good tasting pizza in a very long time and the campo pizza nailed it! We will stop by again and try different pizza's for sure. Not sure why this place is so highly rated. For a pizza by the slice place it was okay. A full serve yourself - including what felt like wiping down your own table. They had 3 wait/pizza making staff behind the counter - which I'm not sure why, there was no real service. It was really loud inside and when I ordered the person behind the counter was having trouble hearing me. I noticed he was grabbing the wrong slice of pizza and wanted to make sure that he heard me so I tried to correct him - he just seemed upset and wanted to tell me that what he heard is clearly what I said. The pizza is great! The staff was friendly and service was very good. My only complaint is the crust is a little thin at the center, making it slightly soggy. When I went up to the counter, I had to wait nearly 5 minutes for the hostess to help me. When I gave her my name, she informed me that they cancelled online orders from chownow and refunded my money. She then said if I wanted to order in person, I could but my order would take almost an hour and be done at 9:00. The hell with that. pizzeria Caldera can kiss my arse. I get this a lot of different places and this had to be the worst Ive had out. No flavor... Thank God for salt and their parmesan. I would have to say Trader Joe's truffle flatbread is better. The window seats were great for chilling out and enjoying the snow from inside. I ordered an IPA and bison sausage pizza. The price seems a little high at first, but I think it's worth it. We spent the day in the Tetons, and wanted some great pizza; I did not find that here. I went downstairs to Pinky G's, bustled about the riff raft, and found an equally large slice of real, scrappy pizza at a quarter of the price. My main concern with Pizzeria Caldera was the axis point between price and flavor. Too often, "pizzerias" hold themselves in higher regard, and thusly charge higher regard prices - selling image rather than food first. I paid $20 for a pizza the size of my boot, and sharing it with my wife left me with something to be desired. They called it the Carne pizza, and so naturally I imagined a great, meaty pie worth its weight in cholesterol. Unfortunately concurrent with the restaurant theme, the pizza was conservative with toppings, being too sterile and neutral flavored to be differentiated otherwise. The flavors weren't delightfully pernicious, as is most satiating pizza pies - theirs being matter-o-factly quite the opposite. I tasted nothing exceptionally meaty - save for the Elk sausage, which could have been pork for all I know - but most importantly, the crust was uncharismatically bland, and the sauce I have no memory of whatsoever. Each component of a pizza should be it's own star, galvanized by the fires of a spectacular cooking mechanism into one magnificent sin of culinary indulgence. And let's be honest: Pizza is the ultimate cheat code for the human stomach - consisting almost entirely of fat, salt, and sugar. It's wonderful, and terrible. The problem too often with these sorts of pizzerias is that they reimagine pizza as some sort of triple-cleaned, organic, Non-GMO, gluten free Frankenstein's Monster of artful consciousness and precision - paying homage to the spirit of ancient pizza. A pizza needs to be rich, dark, decadent, smoky, slightly charred, and pernicious to a wonderful fault. You can keep it clean, and put your spin on it, but pizza is the bad boy on the block - not this reserved cosmopolitan neophyte with all his fancy book-learnin' and subtly. After dinner, I immediately ate an entire Pinky G's slice, and it touched me in ways that we all hope to be touched. I discovered the winner, and it is found in the darkness under the stairs. read more

If you're tryna avoid congestive heart failure or high blood pressure, this is the place for you...pizza is incredibly bland, sauce was sparse, and the staff was rushed. Pizza was 12" in diameter and still wasn't filling for me or my date; the idea with pan pizza/thin crust is that the toppings provide the flavor without the carbs, and this place just didn't do it. However, this may have been my fault for fall for the Funghi, the one of two white sauce pizza's, which was way too earthy/bland for me.
