We ordered 2 subs, chicken tenders, and a salad for dinner last night from here. They asked me what kind of sauce for the chicken tenders, and I asked for hot sauce. The hot sauce didn't come. It's pretty annoying when you spend $7 for 4 chicken tenders and they can't even bring the one sauce you asked for. The salad was good. The subs were very bland, not really much flavor at all. I can't tell you how the chicken tenders were because I didn't want to eat any without any sauce to dip them in. This was my second time ordering from Yellow Submarine and was disappointed both times. If you want good subs or pizza and everything to show up right, order from Slice instead. read more

Best steak and cheese I had in a long time (yellow submarine special). The 5 cheese pizza was great. Fries with cheese and Bacon was so good. Service was below part... Waiter did not stop by my table to check on us during the meal. No refill on any drink. She only walked by to handed me the bill at the end of dinner.. Nice little place for dinner. The worst pizza I've ever had, & that includes the pizza they served at the Roller Rink in grade school. So awful.

I used to love eating here on my annual family vacation to OBX. Sadly, this year my boyfriend and I were sick to our stomachs after ordering a regular cheese steak and a chicken cheese steak. We were awake ALL NIGHT in stomach pain and sickness. Wouldn't recommend eating here to anyone unless you enjoy stomach cramps and nausea. read more

Ordered a large pizza from here. Added pepperoni, sausage, onions, and mushrooms. Overall the pizza was good. I liked the crust and the sauce, and the toppings. It wasn't incredible, but compared to chains like Papa Johns, I would order here first. I was close by, so I stopped in to order. The staff were friendly, and I sat at the bar and had a beer while waiting. They had a good selection of microbrews for such a small place, and there were 2 TV's to keep me occupied. Sub was okay . The customer service at this location was terrible. Clearly, the girls working here for the summer are not focused on customer service. Even my kids were mortified by the outright rudeness. The worst part was not only did she not care that she was rude, it was deliberate and she and her other friends were laughing about it. Let's start by addressing the bad reviews. Ok so the decor is dated but I'm not here to eat the decorations on the wall. It's lunch time and there is one person taking care of taking walk in orders as well as tables but she did a great job keeping up. WORST PIZZA I EVER ORDERED! First, I ordered a large, which looked TINY especially when they didn't even put the sauce or cheese all the way towards the crust (the crust edge was over an inch and a half thick, like come'on!). Some young girl answered the phone that sounded like she had marbles in her mouth; if you can't talk clearly and be pleasant on the phone DON'T GET A JOB THAT REQUIRES GOOD PHONE ETTIQUETTE! I think I paid $14 for a CHEESE PIZZA, which again, is outrageous -- it probably cost them a few bucks to make. And yes, I'm all about profit (being a small business owner myself) but this was just a HIGE RIP OFF. I rent my house in the summer and I am warning everybody who rents here -- DO NOT BUY FROM YELLOW SUBMARINE (I have signs posted on my frig of good businesses vs. bad and this business is one of the WORST!!!). So i guess we were here during an "off" time of day although there weren't many tables open. (about 1:00 pm) We did not have to wait, seated immediately. Service was fine, not stellar but attentive. Ordered x-large pizza half cheese, half with spinach and some drinks. Pizza arrived hot within 7-10 minutes. Good pizza we thought. Amosphere average, location decent. If I could give it zero stars I would. What a joke of a place now I know why they give coupons. That is the only way they could sell any. First English I think is 3rd or 4th language, very rude workers, and done know the menu. This is as they say a tourist trap, stay away far far away. read more

Honestly, the Yellow Submarine has good quality pizza. The pizza sauce does have quite a bit of garlic, but I found it accented the crust flavor. I know this is purely opinion based, but I do have to give them kudos on their "Mighty Meat" pizza and "Classic White." They used fresh ingredients on the white pizza, which included spinach and tomatoes. I would say they have better pizza than most franchise pizza places. It is worth a try in my opinion and I would eat there again. read more

Stopped by for take out only. Only two tables occupied at 2 PM. We were immediately greeted with a smile. Orders were taken promptly. We had a small supreme pizza and their signature Cheese Steak sub. Filled order came promptly about 15 minutes later. Not bad for type of food ordered. Quality of pizza was excellent. Cheesesteak sub was packed full of beef (very meaty) and prepared expertly. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Ate there this week; actually felt like a week before we ordered then I celebrated two birthdays waiting for the well below average food. Bringing each person's food out 5-10 minutes apart was something I never experienced. Tables were dirty and the place was severely understaffed. I watched 30-40 people leave after waiting 20 minutes and not even asked their name for a table. Don't even stop even if you think the name is catchy. Our group had mixed reviews on the pizza but everyone liked the wings. 2nd time was for cheesesteaks which were very good. 3rd time we had boneless wings and onion rings which were very good. They told me it would be about 45 minutes, but really took over an hour and a half! The food was cold and the driver tried to make excuses as to what took her so long. I should have called to complain, but was so frustrated that I didn't even want to bother with them. Even if the food was warm, I still would say it was mediocre.
