Caipirinha : Brazilian rum muddled with lime and sugar and ice
Jenna S.

This restaurant has been on my bucket list for a long time. I will tell you it was worth the wait! It is located in a charming old house in the Benton Park area of St. Louis. I don't know if it was the owner and his wife as host and server but they were both clearly invested in the restaurant. The long and short of it is it was one of the best meals I've ever had! Debbie our server was very helpful and attentive. The food and drinks were authentic. Basically everything was perfect!!!

Yemanja is now the place we take visitors to impress them. It is the perfect combination of local family owned restaurant and culinary cultural experience. The homey environment and friendly service can't be beat. In terms of food, the skewers are excellent but we mostly order from the specials, which are often include queijo coalho, a grilled Brazilian cheese that is to die for! If they have it, order it!

Cute spot with very friendly service! The food was excellent. I got one of the steak skewers and my partner got the ribeye special with cheesy potatoes. His was the best steak I've had in a while. The chimichurri sauce and the potatoes were also excellent. The only feedback would be to include a specials menu, so we can see the price of the specials. We didn't realize his dish was $60, and compared to my $19 plate, that was a huge disparity that was unexpected. It was wonderful so we don't regret getting it but would have liked to know that the cost would be considerably higher up front. Anyways, we loved it so much I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

I really enjoyed my first visit here! Definitely a very intimate dinner spot for a more relaxed dinner or a nice date night. I haven't been to a Brazilian restaurant before so I was excited to try something new. Plenty of street parking outside of the restaurant. I went during the week so it wasn't too crowded in the restaurant, but it definitely was busy. The menu offers a lot of different things for you to try if you want to have a lighter dish like skewers or a more filling entrée. There are plenty of options and also some good options for non-meat eaters. My snapper was really tasty, the relish and guacamole added some good additional flavor. Service was great! We left close to the restaurant closing for the evening and one of the owners offered us some hot chocolate that is served in the upstairs area of the restaurant.

Always delicious and wonderful service! This time we shared the lamb lollipop special, tamales, a sausage kebab, vinaigrette, and a bacon farofa. Our server was Raul Jr. and he's always fantastic. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

Taco tuesday! I finally got to yemanja and let me tell you: this place is dangerous. I live next door and every night theyre open the tantalizing aromas make my dinner seem like baby food. I finally got their taco tuesday last week... I am still having naughty dreams about their beef tacos. We had their street corn, chicken, al pastor, and beef tacos. First and foremost the elote is so beautiful. Creamy, rich, and the perfect pairing to some street tacos. The tacos are amazing. Corn tortillas loaded with meats, cilantro, and onion. Simple, well executed. Every taco was great, but, once more, the beef shined for me. Super citrusy with enough salt to cut through. A perfect char with a warm, grilled tortilla. The place was jumping with neighbors and the workers were shaking margs with big smiles and better service. I fear yemanja may do some serious damage to my wallet now that i have discovered just how wonderful this place is.

Wow, actually loved. Not one to usually get excited over a steak dish but the picanha sort of blew me away. It was cooked perfectly and the sauce it came in paired with chimichurri made for such a flavorful bite. The grilled skewers for two was admittedly overpriced at $56 ($10 up-charge for shrimp) but the bacon-wrapped chicken was delicious and so juicy. Also could not complain about happy hour prices of $5 select cocktails and $3 drafts. I had little expectations for this place, but left thoroughly impressed. A hidden gem in the Benton park area. Favorite dishes: Picanha, bacon-wrapped chicken

We returned to Yemanja after seeing the food truck at an event. The menu has changed but the restaurant interior was the same or just didn't notice any change. The Brazil curry stew (Moqueca) was incredible. Before the menu change, they did not offer a vegetarian version of this. I'd order this every time. We also tried the tapioca bites for the appetizer. These are new to the menu as well. Everything is phenomenal. I love the Caipirinha but the double was a bit too strong. We had the same server we did previously and she's great. Very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. I highly recommend Yemanja!

So I attended a gin festival event this past Sunday and the Yemanja Brazil food truck was there for us to order and buy the food. The food truck was located in the back of the building. We ordered two entrees and the yucca fries. This is my first time trying the yucca fries and they were delicious. I love fries in general and do like to eat boil yucca but I never thought about this combo and it worked out wonderfully. The staff was nice and service was pretty fast.

I've been to Yemanja multiple times & I try a new entree everything time, each time never disappoints! The spot is so cozy, so cute & such a vibe! It can be a quiet intimate dinner or you can make it into a fun filled group dinner! Tonight I got the seafood risotto & it was, CHEFS KISS! So delicious! For desserts we got the apple empanada with caramel drizzled over it with vanilla ice cream, the other empanada was pumpkin rolled in cinnamon sugar with a side of vanilla ice cream. Make sure you don't skip dessert because you'll regret it! It doesn't get much fresher than this! Every time I've gone, the owners have been here & they are so sweet, so personable, ask you how things are & make an effort to talk to you. Make sure to check out this super convenient & delicious Brazilian restaurant in the heart of Benton Park.

Wowowow! Been wanting to try Yemanja Brasil for quite some time now, and I absolutely loved it. This review is about their food truck experience and their food. I did not have a dine in experience, but am really looking forward to doing so. I tried the food truck at an event at Wild Carrot. It was a gorgeous day outside- the perfect kind of food truck day so it really fit the vibe. There was a bit of a line when I went to go order, but it moved fairly quickly. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because everything sounded so incredible, but ultimately ended up ordering the beef empanadas. I waited about 5 minutes, which I've waited much longer at food trucks. They have it down to an incredible system. The beef empanadas were amazing. You can very much tell they're homemade and made to order. They're super crispy and the filling inside was the perfect amount of spice and deliciousness. Super happy I got the opportunity to try them out and am really looking forward to going to their storefront!

I came in a little after they opened for dinner and was warmly greeted. I was surprised at how small it was inside but the lack of space made up for it in the delicious food. Since I've come the last two weeks and unsuccessfully I might add, I knew which entree I wanted to try. Once I sat down and looked at the drink menu to order, I found out they only served the buffets on Sunday! Whoops! I decided to stay since I came this far. Drink wise, I got the passion fruit Batida but with no milk. As I made my way up to the buffet, I was amazed at everything that was out. I managed to get quite a few things on my plate but didn't want it be overflowing as not to waste food. Some of the things weren't labeled, so I had to make an educated guess and hope for the best. I really enjoyed the fried grouper, plantains, and pasta with white sauce. The other things were good too but weren't labeled. I didn't eat very much but got full pretty quickly. As I went up to pay, the head chef asked how I liked everything and offered a complimentary shot. I ended up staying and talking with the staff and had the best time. I def enjoyed the food and warmth of the staff as it's something you don't always find. I can't wait to come back in a regular day to try more dishes.

I went here for my birthday with my husband on 8/22/19…read more This is a really unique experience. First off, it is located inside Cinder House at the Four Seasons. It's Gerard Craft's private dining where he cooks for a group of 10 people for $125/person. He describes Cinder House as classical Brazilian food whereas Dia's room (named after his nanny) , is more "whimsical and modern in approach." For those that have been to his old restaurant, Niche, it was like Niche meets Brazilian. Wine pairings are available for an additional price (there were two tiers of wine pairings). The $125 does not includes tax and tip. You walk into a private room separated from Cinder House where there is a long communal table for 10 people to sit. Upon arrival, the server hands each person a cocktail. There is a place card for each party. For the night I went, 13 dishes came out. Unfortunately, I was so enamored by the whole experience that I did not write down each of the dishes. But I did take pictures!! The first couple dishes were like snacks and went fast. But starting with the fourth dish, his infamous Dia's cheese bread with a thin slice of country ham was the start of the amazing train of food. If you've eaten at Cinder House, many of the dishes that came out were the same dishes with a dash of flare. For example, Feijoada was the 8th dish that came out. The difference? This one had foie gras and peaches instead of the various cuts of pork served at Cinder House. The creaminess of foie gras and the sweet/tart peaches paired so well!!! The biggest portion of food was the make your own taco. There was so much meat leftover for 8 out of the 10 people but it was sooooo delicious.... I still dream about it. This is a place for people without food restrictions and the adventurous eaters. I did think it was a nice touch that one of the 10 people was kosher and could not eat pork. Gerard found out through conversation at the beginning of the meal and made sure to give this person a flank steak instead of the pork dish. It was so great that he was able to accommodate so gracefully, despite the fact that when making a reservation, it specifically says no food allergies are allowed due to the nature of the experience. The concept of sitting at a long table with 10 people was great. Although I got really lucky with the people who happened to dine with us that evening, I can see how a dull group of people could really affect the dinner ambiance. Overall, this is a difficult place to describe. It's a place you just have to go for yourself. I loved every second of it and it's a great place to treat yourself or to go for a special occasion. I will say, because you are with 10 other people, you can't have private conversations very well (just keep that in mind).

Maybe it was because it was frozen idk, it tasted bad and I love sushi. Crab legs had no crab meat in them what so ever? Not to mention there was also not butter even if they had something in them, crawfish looked seasoned but once you actually ate them not a sign of seasoning, tasted straight like a creek, the giant lemon pepper shrimp where fried but soggy and the shell was impossible to remove and if you managed too the shrimp was not good. NOTHING WAS HOT the noodles and rice where above room temperature but that's about it, everything was way below room temperature despite just being put on the buffet and had the appearance of steaming hot (was just water under the trays steaming) The ribs where bland and unflavorful, the chicken was overcooked and bland, nothing was relatively good Went over to the hibachi to get some actually fresh and warm food, there was no one there so I rang the bell, waited for 5 minutes nothing, went and asked if there was someone for the hibachi, they said just ring the bell, went back and rang it again and waited for about 5 minutes for no one to show up (no one did) finally gave up on trying to get something to eat Got the check and went to talk to the manager lady upfront only to be laughed at by her and the server because "sushi supposed to be cold" tried to explain it was still frozen only got laughed at and ignored, she was beyond rude and ignorant and completely ignored the fact everything else is cold and no one is actually running the hibachi, she could care less and just ignores you and when she does listen just laughs at you, complete psycho behavior Worst food I have ever gotten, been coming here every year for the last 5-6 years for my birthday and this year was disgusting Drove an hour and a half, left hungry and disappointed, this was dinner too so I can't imagine how bad lunch is. The manager even stopped to chat with us while we waited for our Uber. Now for the food, we started with the toasted ravioli we had heard so much about and it was good. For the main dish, we went with the lobster spaghetti which was one of the day's specials. The portion size was generous making it the perfect dish to share with my son. The dish was filled with lobster, shrimp, and other seafood, all tossed in a rich buttery sauce. We both really enjoyed it. I liked the art on the walls and the K-pop playing. On to the menu.... The All You Can Eat (AYCE) selection at WUDON is not AYCE. Unlike all AYCE KBBQ restaurants, WUDON limits selective items that you can order more than once. At AYCE sushi or other BBQs, once you select AYCE, everything can be ordered as much as you want. To top it off, you are required to share a soup, a pancake, and steamed egg. I was disappointed to find that you had to share those items and could not order more. Not exactly "all you can eat". And, like other reviewers, the galbi, or short rib, platter is a one-time order deal. That's..... unheard of for a $28.99 AYCE weekend lunch. St. Louis does not have many Asian cuisine options, especially Korean, so I always try to be understanding if the quality or service isn't the best. My issue is that they should not call a menu selection "all you can eat" if there are contingencies on how many times you can order certain items. I would pay $15 for All you can eat here, not $30+. If you are looking for a first time experience doing AYCE KBBQ in St. Louis, by all means, try WUDON. Since LA, NY, and Chicago are too far to get AYCE KBBQ that is worth it, WUDON is the next (somewhat good) choice.
