My family has been going to this place since I was a child. Now I take my husband here all the time. I will continue to give them my business because the food is always great. Sometimes they will be busy (they get a lot of phone orders) and it can take a little longer to get the food but that is pretty rare. My favorites are the pot stickers (BEST IN TOWN! Seriously, you won't regret ordering them), the sizzling rice soup, mu shu pork, BBQ pork chow mien, and the prawns ala yin ching (if you like a little spicy and shrimp, you have to try). I have tried a lot on the menu and the only thing I wasn't a fan of so far was the black mushroom chicken. If you are looking to try a new chinese place, I would say give them a shot. Pot Stickers (**** $4.75 for 6) Accompanied by a Sweet Soy Dipping Sauce, the width of the Pot Stickers are about two inches. Orange chicken had a metallic taste very sweet and greasy. I ordered 5 items I spent 40 bucks and it barely fed my family of 6. Not worth it. We were in Lodi for the first time attending a conference. After the drive down, we just wanted to crash, so we ordered from Yen Ching and had the food delivered. The for was very good. I had Coconut, walnut prawns and really enjoyed it. My granddaughter said her Lemon chicken was very good. The pot stickers were just ok. The delivery person was very nice and the food arrived nice and hot. They even served my shrimp on a lettuce leaf and garnished with a maraschino cherry.....very nice looking for this tired lady. This is a hit & miss location. I really really would love to give 4 stars but the consistency of the quality of food is the biggest down fall. Location is great in the Bella Terra Plaza. The customer service is usually up to par as well. The food! Oh How I love it when it is the way it should be prepared. Yummy! But, that never seems to happen..... I am a creature of habit so of course I order the same thing every time. I love the chicken chow mien, pot stickers and BBQ pork. The rest of my family usually gets the Mongolian beef, sweet & sour pork, mushu pork, deep fried asparagus, pork fried rice & beef broccoli on a regular basis (not all at once though, lol). When cooked properly, these dishes rock! But like I said, consistency of the quality of food here is a huge problem. The food is always fresh and tasty, I have never had anything bad here, and have visited many times over a 15-20 year period of time. Would recommend if you want great tasting, fresh Chinese food. Came here on Christmas Eve as has been our tradition for the past couple of years. We made a reservation as usual but there year we made it for 4:00 pm. We thought it would be early enough and not be packed especially since we were a larger group. When we arrived, there was a table of four and a table with a couple. All the other tables were empty. We were seated and the waitress immediately asked what we wanted to order and then looked at her watch. We told her we needed a moment so she took our drink orders. About 5 minutes later she came back and asked for our order and looked at her watch again. We told her we were still not ready and when my mom asked her if there was a problem with the time. The waitress said she was concerned about the "rush." We took a few moments more then flagged her down to place our order. We usually each pick a dish to share with the table and this is normally not a problem as they make enough food for the group and charge accordingly. However, when ordering soup, egg rolls, and pot stickers, she LECTURED us on how many each order would serve. Fine, give us two orders of egg rolls and pot stickers and we'll each have a little less soup in our bowls. When she brought the soup out to serve, she again lectured us on how much it would serve. If we had ordered a larger size it would have been far too much, so we were fine with a little less in our bowl especially considering all the other items we had ordered. After that, the rest of our food came out very quickly. We had a male waiter who assisted and was friendly but the woman was rude every time she came to our table. From the time we sat down to the time we finished eating, it was approximately an hour, which is not uncommon whether it's two of us or eight of us. During this time, only one party of four had come in and the restaurant remained mostly empty. We then headed to Trader Joe's to pick up a few items and were there for awhile perusing the items as we don't shop there that often. Afterward, we stood outside and chatted for a few minutes before each heading off in our own directions. At this point, it's almost two hours after our initial reservation and we walked past the restaurant to see how busy it was. Still mostly empty. Not sure when the "rush" was supposed to happen but it didn't appear to be soon. Needless-to-say, I will not be going back to this restaurant again.
