I called this nail shop last minute on a Saturday afternoon asking if they could accomodate a walk in for my gel pedi and my daughter's gel mani and they kindly accepted, as long as I could come in within 20 minutes. The service was outstanding and they all seem to be quite skilled. They take their time with each service which I appreciate. I think we have all experienced the rushed service that some of these nail shops in LA provide. The shop is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing. Pleasantly surprised with my experience at Yen's! I was a walk-in on a weekend, and they took me in. I was not in a rush that day, so I didn't mind the wait, and I took the time to look through their extensive color selection. One thing that I found unusual was the technique. The person helping me would paint one or two nails from one hand and then ask that I put it under the lamp. One to two more nails from the other hand and then back under the lamp. Every other salon I've been to finished one hand completely before moving onto the other hand. I'm not sure if this different technique will result in the gel lasting longer(?), but I did find that there was more risk of the polish getting smudged because I would be moving my hands in and out of the lamp every 10 seconds and my nails weren't dry yet. I got gel manicure and regular pedicure, and it came out to $62 total. I was asked to pay via Zelle, which I did not mind but would have preferred to pay via card. All in all, I am happy with my nails and was pleased with the service. read more

VERY overpriced for a mediocre job. They are not thorough at all and charge double regular prices just because they have fancy chairs. For the price, it should be a quality service. They do not provide that, and they refill their polish bottles with who knows what. read more

My gel manicure chipped the next day. Also, they do pedicures on other people, and then don't wash their hands or change gloves to start your manicure. They really touch other people's feet and then switch to another client without keeping it hygienic. Happened both times I was there. 3 stars is for them being nice. read more

Be careful ladies and gents- I appreciate the time they took to do mani-pedi but I did not like the fact that the woman doing my nails kept picking at my cuticles. I can understand why others are complaining about bleeding and possible infections. Cuticles are there for a reason, to protect your skin and nails, I don't mind getting them removed but not to point where I'm starting to bleed! It was excessive! I had to tell her to stop. The women at this salon could not be any more friendly. They always make you feel welcome a d have a great selection of gel colors. The big snafu with their businesses even before covid was that they don't offer acrylic nails and the powder dip manicures only have about 8-10 colors and they are not flattering. The pedicures are great but for my needs, they just don't have the updated trends with what is in demand. Acrylic nails have been around forever and the fact that they don't offer them is ansolutely nuts to me. Also, put aside about 2-2.5 hours when you go there. They don't do your mani pedis at the same time about 80% of the time and even if you have an appointment which I always make sure to make, you could end up sitting there for a half hour before you are helped. I feel bad writing this because they are so hard working and so their best, but unfortunately they need to update their services for what is in demand. read more

Here is why: they have all the best colors, any gel I pick for my hands, they can match a regular for my feet (I only do gel for hands). They take their time and do not rush and they do a perfect job! They have the massage chairs (the greatest). The salon got a facelift since the riots. It was so very sad to see my favorite nail salon close temporarily bc of looting ...however it gave them the chance to make the space even nicer than before. They are the safest place to go during covid. Only allowing a few people at a time. Everyone wears masks AND shields. They wipe everything down of course too! You should definitely make an appt bc they can get very busy ! I think during covid they might require or HIGHLY encourage an Appt ahead of time. They have A LOT of devoted regulars and you will find out why. Yen and her staff make you feel like family. So friendly and warm. It might be a little pricey , but you are paying for a quality experience and the polish stays on forever. Also, gentle suggestion...keep in mind, Businesses are obviously taking a hit during covid so be kind and generous If you can afford the extra tip increase. These ladies deserve it. When we came back, they had already taken new clients and said nothing other than no. If it was not possible, it would have been okay as long as it had been communicated at any point in time. I was a walk-in and Yen sat me down right away with a smile. I waited for about 15min. A guy named Sun did my gel mani and a lady named Hannah did my regular pedi. I am very picky when I get my nails done but I was really pleased with their work. My gel mani didn't look bumpy and the whole nail was painted! YES, EVEN THE SIDES GURL! My regular pedi was bomb too! Price: Gel mani was $28 & regular pedi was $16. For some reason they only take cards on weekday but not on weekends. Idk why?! But they do have an ATM machine, not sure if thats an extra fee. Parking: They have parking in the back for like 3-4 people, so hopefully you get lucky! I went to Yen Nails for the first time this week on Wednesday 1/24/18. I was excited to go as I've heard so many good things from my friend. I loved the place as soon as I walked in, it was clean and had many gel colors to choose from. Unfortunately, the older lady who did my pedicure didn't share in my excitement. As I sat down, I asked her if I could get a color on my toes that matched my gel manicure color. I don't think she understood my request and said gel pedicure? I said no gel mani, regular pedi but matching color. This was when I realized I had asked for too much as her attitude towards me became unfriendly. I shook it off and gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was just having a bad day or just had resting mean face. She started on my feet and I asked if she could cut my nails short. Again, I seemed to ask for too much as her face again showed attitude. I smiled and was nice and let her continue as I talked with my friend. I've always been told to stick to your own nail salon if they do a good job. Now I know why! The next day I felt a pain on my right big toe. I figured she had dug too deep while cleaning it and caused a cut. However, today is Saturday 1/27 as I write this, and I've woken up to a swollen, infected toe :-( I'm not sure if it was from her pulling too hard trying to remove my cuticle because I seemed to ask for too much or if it's from using a dirty tool. You can see the difference from my pictures from the left toe that isn't infected, to the right that is. Needless to say I won't be going back and I'm praying my infection doesn't spread as I sit here soaking my toe. read more

Pretty upset about this update - the first time i found this spot I loved it. I sent all my friends here, i even wrote reviews! Everyone here is very welcoming & nice, but the issue is management. The first time I came, a mani pedi was $30. The second time I came, a mani was $10. The third time, the same mani was $14. And the last time I came, I was charged $16 for the same regular polish mani. What's worse is that I have proof of each charge because I always paid them through Venmo. And even when I said something & showed it to the owner, she tried to lie that they had changed the price starting that month. Then i showed her the date on the last Venmo payment & she still tried to lie. I understand the hustle is real, but if you have a repeat client, you really shouldn't hustle them or judge what they can pay by what designer they're wearing. Really poor treatment. I've been here several times. There is always a wait, regardless of appointment, time or day, but i usually just sit it out and wait patiently... Today my appointment was at 430pm. It is 510pm and I'm still waiting for them to start. They finally had me soak my feet at 450 and now the water is getting cold. They never update me unless I ask, i can see why people have written reviews that they were forgotten about. This is the last time I come here, i should not have to wait 40 minutes past an appointment time. What is the point of making an appointment? Update after my appointment to add: it took 1 hour - ONE HOUR & for someone to finally get started on my hands. Meanwhile someone had started my pedicure and cut my right toe nail down to the quick, and then proceeded to file my nail down even more. I had to tell her to stop. That nail was obviously shorter than my left nail, i don't know why she was cutting it so short!! Needless to say, when it came time for the alcohol, it felt like i was being stabbed in the toe, i reflexively pulled my foot back and yelped, it hurt so bad!! Meanwhile the manicurist was taking her sweet time and i told her i changed my mind. I only want a manicure, no gel because she took so long to get to me and i had to be somewhere in 30 minutes. She was shocked by this and i guess she really wanted my money because she insisted that she would do my gel mani and get me out of here in time. Ok... Well the pedicurist then realized I wanted French tip (i had said this in my phone call and when checking in) and apparently doesn't know how to do French tip so she just flat out stopped working on my feet so the manicurist, who was now working frantically, could finish my pedicure. She was now working double time to finish my gel manicure and hurry up to get my French tip pedicure done in the half hour. It felt like torture. My cuticles were barely trimmed and the gel was painted so far from my skin it looks like my gel manicure is already a week old. Went in on a weekday after work and they got me right in. The lady working on me was super sweet and let me try to colors on two nails before deciding which to go with. She was so meticulous in my mani-- it took a while but I am not complaining because it's been three weeks with this gel mani!! Really liked the vibe of this place and they had a lot of customers they knew by name which is always nice. The gel Mani was $26 so it is definitely worth it! That is great, however if the trainees are doing manicures on repeat customers I do feel it should be at a lower cost. My nails were three weeks grown out and I asked to only cut a little bit and keep the square shape. The girl cut my nails all the way down and did round. One my my nails is filed on a slant. A little frustrating because with a gel mani you're stuck with it for a few weeks. I've been searching for my go-to salon for a really long time and I think it's finally safe to say that Yen's is my definite go-to. I've only gotten gel nails done here but they absolutely nail it every single time. I always come with an appointment and never have to wait more than 5-10 minutes. Staff did improve since my last review but every few months the prices seem to go up and up. The male technician uses a electric drill to clean your cuticles and thus makes your nails thin. Work is rushed so quality is affected and it's not relaxing. I will give credit for the fact that the place is clean and gel manis last 2-3 weeks. read more

I asked for a kids mani/pedi with one added service for my daughter, and they gave her a full mani/pedi instead without asking me.
