I will start with the positives. The tiny grocery selection has some cool imported Greek products. The chocolate bars are delicious. And that about does it for the pros. I had the chicken souvlaki gyro. It was the worst gyro I've ever had. The tzatziki sauce was actually just Greek yogurt. I tasted zero cucumber. The chicken, about 4 tiny chunks, were dried out and chewy near the point of being inedible. So I turned out to be thankful for the small portion of chicken. Also included in the gyro was (bagged?) spring mix and a couple of slices of tomato (I requested no onion). It supposedly came with feta as well, but not enough that I noticed. The chicken turned me off so bad I basically just ate the pita bread. There are so many other authentic Greek options locally, go to one of those instead. read more

This place is very authentic Greek food. Got to try Feisty Feta Spicy Gyro! Wasn't too spicy but it have a perfect kick of spice with flavor. The atmosphere was very open and inviting. I always loved there coffee but now it's a sad case. A Greek pastry shop with out good brewed coffee is a no way for me. We went in this week and all they had was Kruger cup coffee and no 1/2 and 1/2, served in a styrofoam cup. Yuck. I hope they fix this or we will be going to coffee deli. We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. My boyfriend loves gyros. Upon entering, we were greeted with friendly smiles from a lady behind the counter and a man who we assumed was the owner. I explained that it was our 1st time visiting. He went into detail about their greek yogurt and tzatziki sauce and brought us a sample of each plus their hummus and a spicy feta. Oh. My. All four were delicious. He said that customers buy the spicy feta and put it on top of burgers like people do with pimento cheese. Yes please! I bought 1/2lb and can't wait to make homemade burgers this weekend. My boyfriend got the lamb gyro and I got the chicken. Did I mention the tzatziki sauce is the best I've ever had?! We also shared a small greek salad ($4.99). We chose to do the combo for an extra $3. We both got lemonade (yummy) & you get to choose a dessert under $3. Oh man the selections! I wanted 1 of everything but ended up with a chocolate cannoli and my boyfriend got a little pastry. I can't recall the name of it but it looked amazing. Another lady helped us when we got our desserts to go because we were so full and she was SO helpful and nice. She gave us a refill on our lemonade and extra dressing for our leftover salad because we couldn't eat it all! We were very pleased with our experience and would definitely go back. We love little hole in the wall places and support local business any chance we get. Keep in mind the place is small. They have a few tables inside and outdoor seating as well. Truly authentic Greek bakery. Can't say that my Yia Yias was any better. Their amigdolata is my favorite. My dad always sends me home a huge bag of treats when I see him, so I didn't try much else...yet. Will update once I do. But I can say it is true to authentic, you can't find this array of Greek pastries anywhere else, I've only seen this assortment in Greece. And I have tried many Greek restaurants in my day. Everything about Yia Yia Kitchen is top notch. We always order the veggie plate (hummus, pita, olives, feta, dolmates and spinach pie) and it is definitely a shareable portion. Recently I branched out and got the chicken souvlaki which was very good. Their bakery is fantastic - a huge selection. They added a grocery section and to my knowledge this is the only place in town with such a selection of Greek foods. Their staff is very friendly and clearly knows a lot about their food ~ it is always great to be able to ask questions about unfamiliar brands and get an educated answer. Excellent souvlaki style gyro with french fries on it, just the way it should be. While we waited for our food the guy at the counter brought us out some free samples of the dips that they sell at the store, which were all imported from Greece, and delicious. I thought it was a nice gesture, as it felt like he was genuinely welcoming us into the restaurant, and wanted to tell us all about the food and how it was eaten in Greece. This is a small local deli and Greek grocery store. We ate gyro with beef and lamb. Also had tomato's and some type sauce. Gyro was hugh, piled with meat. There was enough for 2 meals. Meat had great flavor as well as pita bread. My husband ate a Greek type pizza with feta, olives and it was loaded with spinach and spices. Food was delicious. Price also great. For desserts we ate bacalava as they also have a bakery. I would go back again. read more

Just like Yia Yia used to make. I had the Pastitisio & spanakopita. Both were delicious. The pastries looked amazing, but I did notice one of the workers taking them out of packaging...so don't be fooled, they aren't made there. Bummer. I plan to go back, though.
